The music that is whiney and screeched out you are looking for is screamo, and THAT is shit, Chester Bennington is doing what is called a fry scream, not extreamly difficult to learn, but still tricky, he has an amazing singing voice as well and a very wide range, you can sometimes hear more than one voice at the same time when he sings or does the fry scream, but yea, the drummer does suck, but Chester is in no way whiney.

However, I give kudos to Chester covering the song and doing it well. I like Linkin Park, but absolutely fucking adore the Smashing Pumpkins.

@firedevotion Meh the singer in Smashing Pumpkin sounds like shit to me. Yeah he's got "original" voice but that won't help if it doesn't sound good. Chester's voice sounds a lot better IMO and as you can hear his screams are fucking deadly and more professional compared to the original singers fail attemps at the scream parts.

I don't think it was a bad cover. I guess people just tend to overreact. He sang the song his way, he doesn't try to be the singer he's not. With his kind of voice he can sing many different things. Inless you're a true CB fan, you wouldn't know that. I've looked up the lyrics to this song, he was just a little bit off with the lyrics but nobody's perfect. So inless you're an actual CB fan i suggest you keep any of your petty assumptions to yourself. Thank you.
