If you want to compare devices, you have to compare actual devices side by side, not their paper specs. I hope when you buy your car, you are actually give it a test drive, to compare to other vehicles you try, not just read the ad flyers your salesman give you. Paper specs are just paper specs, they define nothing in terms of reliability, power, speed, compatibility. You've got to work with actual device to find all of that out yourself.

the playbook video supports flash and html5 so as far as browsers then i say playbook the fact that it can run android apps in the future makes it appealing and the fact that its a 7 inch dual core with 1080p front and back cams makes this the one i'm buying. if you can run to a best buy and play around with the galaxy tab, you will see that a 7 inch tablet with 1024x600 looks beautiful and is enough screen size for games and movies.

Flash, two cameras & processor put's the blackberry over the top. You have an error in your specs. Both tablets use LCD = Liquid Crystal Display. LED = Light Emitting Diodes are not currently used on computer screens. Otherwise good review.

Yeah the playbook may have better specs but in the end it all comes down to how you use those specs with the device and apple sure knows how to do that well. Also no other app store can take down the apple app store. You can go with the playbook and get bored after a few weeks or go with the ipad and keep getting great apps that will keep it fun to use for a long time.

Apple markets to overly impulsive people, with a ton of hype just to gain burst sales at product launch. No one owns a first gen iphone cause one they were crap and all of the disappointed impulsive individuals rushed out and bought new ones. i know people who still have very old blackberries, the hard thing is to get them to change them( that is the sign of a good product like a rolex) not a piece of crap that constantly needs to be updated and changed but is never quite right.

You forgot the battery life. I think the iPad would have better battery life, because full Flash would take up alot :S. It has been proven time and time again, that better specs does not translate to a better devise/experience... Just look at Nokia with all there high end phones, they never were able to compete. IMO, RIM need to have a good UI to be able to compete with IOS and Android... And for what I have see so far in the videos, is not the case!

The question isn't which is best but which is the best compromise for the average user. There is always a trade off between processing speed and battery life in a mobile device and therefore it is all well and good having a faster processor and more RAM but you may find that your super fast tablet runs out of juice at a time when you still need it. Only when these devices are released (ipad V2) and being used every day by real customers will we be able to determine which is best.

Dude, the OS for the Playbook isn't "Blackberry OS" it's "QNX" which is an entirely HUGE difference and you mentioned that both tablets will have "full Web browsing" but, that's not true either because you only get the "mobile" version of the Web on iPad whereas you get the FULL version of the Web on the Playbook - just two small but important details for ya'.

I use my iPhone 4 for a portable camera which is great. My iPad is great and a camera is not of concern. I will likely buy the iPad 2 but I would not buy it just for the camera. The 9.75 inch iPad screen is much better than a smaller screen. So get an iPhone 4 and an iPad and, with the Apps Store, you have it all.

Qnx software is used by the military, power plants and other big companies around the world. It is among the most advanced softwares used around the world, so it will fare much better against, if not better than the ios software.

um, the BlackBerry tablet is going to have the QNX RTOS, not the BlackBerry OS. Even though QNX is a RIM company, the OS is still QNX.

Basically, the iPad 2 will have all the features the iPad 1 should have had. Just like they screwed everyone with the iPhone 2G (no camera, no multiasking, low res screen, etc), they are screwing everyone the exact same way with the iPad. The PlayBook is going to demolish the iPad. The full browsing experience alone will do what 200,000 apps on the iPad can't.

I honestly think you can make a fair comparisn between the playbook and ipad since they're not 1st generation devices... It won't be fair if you compare 1st vs 2nd generation.
