I guess probably one of a few human beings likely to have done his own compositions for damn near 50 years, and incidently, has always been known to feel no reason to copy himself. I guess its okay if he trys out a new vocal from time to time.
Dylan needs his head seeing to for singing his song in that ridiculous voice, he sounds like a fucking Muppet on helium. What kind of delivery is that? Bloody hell. Come on, Bob. It's like he's willfully trying to alienate his audience, in fact I think he's on record saying that at times has been his intention. "You think I'm a genius? Well, check this out, see if you still think I'm a genius when I sing like a speed-addled children's entertainer." We forgive him anything though.
Dylan wrote this song when he was 23 years old. HOLY SHIT. Everyone else could try their whole life to write a song as powerful as this and they wouldn't succeed.
@foiran Theres a really popular song in finland that says bob dylan is the messiah, and everytime someone asks me what do i belive in i reply: Bob Dylan is the messiah.
Not hsi best vocals..here. Still..Playing a blistering guitar and in almost perfect tim e and he's into it...for a change. ...80's Dylan...was a strange time....early 80's sucked and the he was REBORN. around 1989....
i have a chance to go see him but im not too tbh. On one hand he's Bob Dylan the greatest artist of the 20th century and I really want to see him, to be able to tell my grand-children I saw Bob Dylan. But on the other hand he's getting on a bit now, he's 70 his voice is going and I hear he just sits on stage playing the organ all night not sure im up for that, especally for £60 a ticket, plus it'll probs be full of old people. But its still bob Dylan . What to do????
@HarpoonTorpedo Go anyway, as I am, and understand you are fortunate to see a live performance by the same man who played alongside Martin Luther King Jr., The Beatles, Allen Ginsberg, Woody Guthrie, and broke every rule there is to break in the world of songwriting and lyricism.
@HarpoonTorpedo well, dude, here's what you do - you shill 60 clams for that ticket, and you enjoy every moment of it, and allow yrself the luxury of being blown away by alegend who, while not bewing in his prime, is still a genius motherfucker of epic proportions who is doing things onstage to reinvent himself at an age while my people of such ages are content to find a cover band behind them while they karaoke-tyle sing their own hits. dylan is a true artist and a ticket to his show,
@97sophia12 sorry sophia---that one was on youtube. It was removed sometime this year used to watch/ listen to it all the time. His singing was perfect --one of the great performances in rock history.perfection.
@doctorpoop2 This man, This GENIUS (i know he doesn't like being called that but it's true) was a pioneer of rock, he was there at the beginning and he's here now, he almost single handedly made the genre 'rap' with his song Subterranean homesick Blues, this chiselled road warrior has had more of an influence on your life than you'd care to admit. If you don't understand, well, i feel sorry for you.
@xinjinbei And It's best form. He's not up there saying some bullshit like "I got bitches in my truck, and I don't give a fuck, but it's alright, ma, I'm makin bucks."

i never get sick of this performance. This is real punk rock to me. He is the best because he doesn't care what anybody thinks and yet he's so poetic at the same time.
love this song and this dvd is actually pretty good, but i think the way he sings this one is pretty square, but this is still great, shows how good the whole dvd is, that this is the worst perfomance on there!
You don't see how he's good???? Are you kidding me!? This is the best song ever written. It would never even have to be performed! The lyrics alone are pure poetry. Bob Dylan is the most amazing lyricist of all time. ALL TIME!
@DanKSearle You obviously don't understand, this song is amazing, he stands offering you an amalgamation of almost all his styles, bringing forward lyrics that mean so much! You can tell he poured his heart and soul into this. To a true Dylan fan, this is one of his greatest performances.
@DanKSearle His voice is not "unlistenable" it is beautiful! I don't know how to explain this, but the thing that makes people dislike Dylan is normally the way he sings. If you dislike his singing here then you dislike his singing for the past 20 years. The rough style gives the song more character, emphasises the lyrics and blends so well with everything.
@DanKSearle Heh, sorry but yeah I do, well... i'm not to sure, the album version is more haunting, whereas i find this packs more of a punch. But eh, I like them both for what they are.
I guess probably one of a few human beings likely to have done his own compositions for damn near 50 years, and incidently, has always been known to feel no reason to copy himself. I guess its okay if he trys out a new vocal from time to time.
