  • this is so helpful

  • Thanks mate. You should have a look at the dynamic Perception timelapes dolly at Borge's Imaging. $1299 for a 6' kit

  • I tried making a timelapse in this way an I got a 1:30 long movie of a black screen. Any tips?

  • What if you don't have quicktime player 7? help

  • @DanielLeachTen its free

  • wouldn't 50 fps work better in PAL? and 60 fps for NTSC?

  • what if I'm not an apple user? =s

  • @LordUzi1111 Quicktime is also available for windows ;-)

  • @LordUzi1111 dont think final cut is the only way

  • thank you thnak you man, very helpfull

  • I don"t seem to have the pro res 4.2.2 option, would uncompressed 4.2.2 be the same, I only have about 12 options?

  • Well, actually I'm quite new to shooting timelapse videos. I have a Nikon D70 and I use the Nikon Camera Control Pro to take the pictures every 5 seconds. They are also instantly downloaded to the computer. And instead of multiple conversions like here, I set up a Photoshop batch to shrink and cut the pictures to 1920x1080, which I run on each frame. After this I just open the image sequence in QuickTime 7 to make the final video.

  • Oh my god your a genius!

  • gday i was just wondering whether u kept it in a quicktime movie file (.mov) to upload to utube. what did u convert it to?

  • Ok, now that I have exported/imported/exported in the same manner as yourself, would you answer a question, please... ...What is the file size of the actual time lapse video? I have created one and (with titles) it is 116mb for a 29 second video; a bit excessive for the quality!

  • Ahhh, ND filter - I should have known! Nice top-tip, there! Santa brought me a 550d and I went out today to take pictures for my first time lapse...

  • how can i do this using quicktime v10 b c there is no option to import image sequence????

  • @GJCreamer543 Yes, you DO need Quick Time 7 (as I found out); you can download it from Apple's site (or Google it...)

  • nice tutorial there..

hv a question... can you tell me what should be the min number of photos for say 1 min timelapse ...... as per your suggestion if I want 60fps then it should be 60*60 photos??

    thats very big number??

  • and i thought quicktime was useless

  • Thanks man, this was so helpful

  • so you take a photo every 10 second and then speed them up?

  • @catcatttt Hi! No the shots have not been sped up... Its a shot taken say ie, every 5 seconds and it has been taken with an effect called shutter drag, so each shot taken, the camera curtain is open for 1 second, making the cars look blurry, and that helps the smoothness time lapse effect

  • thanks a lot mate....great tutorial...

    really helpful

  • thanks this is super helpfull
