Three of my family members died in the Korean War. I taught English in Korea for 2 years. Some great memories, but I will never forget how I was treated there. Funny, that in Japan, China, and Vietnam, I was treated with respect (and by respect, I mean that the locals did not spend all day gawking at me like I was an animal). Some American soldiers stationed in South Korea have committed terrible crimes that cannot be forgiven. That being said, over 50,000 Americans died to preserve the freedom of South Korea. I find it quite frankly disgusting that some many Koreans would spit in the eye of the ones who have died for their protection. I agree that some American soldiers have committed terrible crimes while in South Korea but without America Korea would be unified under the North Korean flag.

@taurosground I'd actually rather not. There are a lot of things out there that waste seconds off peoples' lives, but they serve a different purpose. Think of the last time you were at an airport; were your items searched? I doubt that you had malicious intent (and therefore by searching you was, by your implicit definition, a waste of time) but that search still served a different purpose. Likewise, my posts may have been a waste to you but to someone they were meaningful.
@taurosground Doesn't matter, the point is there is a value to the comment. There are a million little things that are going to "waste your time" in life, if there is a value for having those things that outweighs the cost, they will and rightfully should happen. In "our little comment wars, yes there is less at stake I agree, but the cost in terms of inconvenience is almost non-existant. I believe that the value of people potentially wanting to read my comments outweighs that cost.

The instant it takes to click over to the next page is negligible in value. The benefit outweighs the cost. I think you have made a hard fought argument but at the end of the day I do not believe you are correct for this reason. If the benefit of anything (i.e. the few people giving a thoughtful glance outweighs the one second waste, its ok.

I don't think you understand my point, even if one person cares there is a value that comes at an extremely small cost to the rest of the world. In the first few weeks of a basic economics course you may be able to understand my point better.
@putansug Well, let's look at your examples. The itunes agreement saves users from being cheated from large amounts of money and other large stakes. The airport guards people's lives. Those are the benefits of those searches. The most your comments can do, however, is provide the common man with a very crude and rudimentary view, which would be worth posting up. However, more likely, most people wouldn't even bother to read it.

Even though there is not much benefit to my comments, there is some that outweighs the instant that people will expend in clicking away from the page. What I'm saying is that life is going to be full of things that "waste peoples' time" but many times they serve another purpose. Three of my family members died in the Korean War. I taught English in Korea for 2 years. Some great memories, but I will never forget how I was treated there. Funny, that in Japan, China, and Vietnam, I was treated with respect (and by respect, I mean that the locals did not spend all day gawking at me like I was an animal). Think of the last time you were at an airport; were your items searched? I'm south korean. I never received an Anti-America education. Those people are easily steered by politicians.( I think people may north korean Spies. there are many spies in south korea.) Actually most korean students don't have any deep insight into the situation of Korea. Koreans should watch out for politicians who engage in demagoguery.

Why do we invest so much money and so many troops to protect the
N. Korea/S. Korea border if they hate they hate us so badly? Why doesn't the United States just pull all their troops out of all these countries that don't want us there? Let them deal with their own problems if that's what they want. And I really like the kid that looks like he's 3 yrs old at the beginning of the movie holding some protest sign. North Korea wouldn't even exist if we hadn't allowed the Russians to create a new country and call it "North Korea" You post repeatedly proving you have no clue of history. The reason why we dont leave is because we created the situation that the Koreans have been dealing with for 60 years and because we have significant financial as well as national security needs from South Korea
