  • If that's just improv......Very good! I'd use a Dunlop Wah Wah to tone it down a bit. And with a mild reverb added to the whole piece, it would sound "mystical".

  • @Darkmend11 Thank you very much!

  • Really nice. Check out my channel guys i g one improv

  • i'd like to see you doing a cover of chick corea's "spain". that would be awesome, a proper fusion guitar version ;)

  • @bernardoseabra That would be a nice challenge!

  • @Wallimann Bring it on!

  • wow! like that sound

  • @ibboadams Thanks man!

  • great...! really enjoy it!

  • @bungaciput Thanks!!

  • Hi! great work Wallimann. I love the way you play man. Your tutorials are amazing too. I'm actually thinking to buy a nitefly on ebay with passive piezos so I'm wondering if you could advice me about some points: Is it difficult to change the pick ups? I see that you never play with the tremolo on this one. Is it not as good as your blue fly deluxe? Thanks for your help buddy & keep rocking!!

  • @pangea2003 Thanks a lot for the nice comment!

I'm not sure what a notedly is... You mean Nitefly?

If so, changing pickups is just like any other guitars.. The trem bar is good, I just found that I don't need it when playing...

    I hope that helps!

  • @Wallimann haha nitefly yes! I wrote it too quickly.. so could I install fender strat pick ups on the parker? are they of the same size or it only accepts dimarzio?

by the way,m is it your web working fine today? I got problems downloading files.. Cheers!

  • @pangea2003 I never tried Fender pups but they should work I think?

I use DiMarzios... You have trouble downloading from guitarplayback(dot)com?

Send me an email through the site's contact form and let me know which files you are having trouble with. :-)

  • what guitar do you use i cant find it

  • @mrguitardude02 It's a Parker Nitefly. It's one of the first models they came up with and is no longer available...

  • nice playing and groove...well done!...

what is the model of your nitefly ? Did you replace the neck pickup?

  • @domk79 Thanks! This is just an original Nitefly. Bought when they just came out...

I changed the pickups, from neck to bridge: Chopper, Virtual Solo and Evolution.

  • amazing improv man!! keep it up

also other thing is the Dorian and Aeolian keys? if i want to play funky guitar solos do i practice these scales?

  • @rikimaru342 Thanks! The secret is actually not in the scales but the rhythm. Studying the rhythm of the style you want to play in will help you more than the scale.

  • Lot of heart brother. You can tell you love it by ask the faves you make...But I do the same when I play...Great Job

  • @ctsurg Thank you very much!

  • Niceee! :D What can you tell me about parker guitars? are they comfortable?

  • @MrMarkkittus Thanks! They are the most comfortable guitars I have ever tried. Although I did try a MusicMan Pettrucci model a few weeks ago and feel that the Parker might have a rival now. :-)

  • Play that funky music, white boy! Groovin' stuff!

  • @Missykicksassdude Thanks!

  • Absolutely brilliant! Makes me wish I could jam with you! Keep up the playing man. :D

  • @BlacKidX11 Thanks so much! :-)

  • @HaoleJames Thank you!

  • @HaoleJames they're so good at guitar they keep the awesomeness to themselves , hahahahahahaha . Seriously, who can dislike such great playing . Was there for the fred/evo soundcheck ... turns out, i can use a dimarzio evolution . And yeah , the kid's quite good , haha =) cheers!

  • Hot Hot Hot

  • @brandonrobinson5150 Glad you liked this!

  • I think I could 'understand' where all modulations were at, mostly because you bended most of the first modulated notes xD

  • @Dan1loBr Old habits! :-D

  • Mmmmm tone heaven... But maybe the tiniiiiiest bit of gain added, just for that winter leaf-crunching tone :)

  • I love the sincerity, risk taking & gutsyness of your style.

  • @erod1944 Man, that means a lot. Thank you!

  • ...if your still thinking of a tele I recommend the new Pawnshop '72. I just got one and it is awesome. I'd love to see someone as good as you rip it up! A great guitar for the money, imo ;]

  • @splitcoiler Thanks! I think I settled for a Tele American Standard. Teles are so cool! :-)

  • David, you are a virtuoso and a fantastic teacher. In 2 mos. of using your trax and techniques I have jumped ahead light years in my lead playing.. I can't thank you enough.ROCK ON!...oh and yes, the tone is sweet! ;]

  • @splitcoiler That's such a nice comment to read! Thank you so much! :-)

  • Thumbs up for anything you do!........ Watch a Wallimann video and you can usually walk away with learning something. Great playing by the way!!!

  • @shavez20 Thank you!!!

  • Thumbs up for the tone! However as far as the guitar is concerned i would prefer something more "original" sounding...like a les paul or sth... Is the parker going through the eleven rack? The playing is exceptional as always :)

  • @nemogre Thanks! I'm thinking about getting a tele... I love that Parker though!

Yes, it's going through the Eleven. :-)

Thanks a lot for the nice comment!

  • @Wallimann Tele? Has to be a Strat all the way..! /watch?v=CB1hCB2V3xs

  • @stoob1969 That's cool too. :-D

  • delightful music and really useful classes. one of the best channels I have subscribed to. :D

  • @idontbelieveok Thank you so much!!!

  • I thumbed up the video right before the annotation, really cool run :)

  • 2 thumbs way up Dave!

  • what are the keys?

  • @Zekemis C Dorian - D Dorian and C Aeolian

  • Thumbs up if you think Dave is holding a fart until 3.07 when there seems to be some light relief only to revert back to his 'holding a fart' face for the remainder of this incredible solo:) Seriously great playing mate. I'm gonna follow that link!! What on earth do I have to practice and how long for to be this damn good??? Respect.

  • @GazzaLanzarote Thansk dude! :-D

  • @GazzaLanzarote Oh, and I would really mostly practice rhythm phrasing.. :-D

  • does youtube allow more than one thums up?1!!! :-)

  • @shishir16089 Thansk man! :-)

  • OK now THATS MUSIC!!!!!

  • @jcou1138028 Thanks so much!

  • dave do you play with or without fingernails?

  • @andmaci Yeah, I don't have finger nails. Or at least very short ones. :-)

  • @Wallimann i cut mine to see how it felt and sound but i couldn´t stand the feeling on my fingertips, specially if you´re playing with .13´s nice playing by the way.

  • You too good ya bitcchhh

  • Excellent, man! Excellent! What guitar is that?

  • @rmoraespinto Thanks! This is a Parker Nitefly. :-)

  • Nice new spectacles, sir!

  • @sandmantreefitty Hey! You noticed! Thanks! :-)

  • Awesome!!! If I can do half as well ever I'll probably die of happiness. Which was the first guitar that you picked up?

  • @anshumanchaube95 Thanks! y first guitar was an Aria Pro 2 Mad Axe. :-)

  • brillant playing! Can't understand all those crazy notes!

  • @RightBrainsMusic Thanks! Most of it is Dorian. :-)

  • Brilliant Mr Walliman... i see a lot of finger style lately... how good are you on the acoustic guitar?? can you show something?. Cheers ;)

  • @diazluisdiaz Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have an acoustic...

  • Great playing, like usual. Dude, t'es fort. Wait a minute, I have an Egnater Rebel and I don't have such a nice t-shirt. What did go wrong?

  • @ABusLux Hehe! Thanks a lot!!!

  • Really tasty playing Dave!

  • @MyxHarnett Thanks Matt!

  • hey dave , thanks for all your videos man :-)

I just wanted to know , how to you practice improvisation ?

    Thanks Anyway !!

  • @dinos35 Thanks! The way I do it is to listen to the backing track and DON"T HOLD A GUITAR. Just listen and imagine musical lines. Approach it like a singer. Once you have something cool, reproduce it on your instrument. It really works!

  • @dinos35 Just to add to what dave said - I often listen thru to a track and literally sing a guitar line over it... supposedly, Brian May used to compose solos by singing them, recording his voice and then working out what he'd sung in a feasibly playable pattern on the fretboard!

  • I've been curious for awhile Dave, but is there anything really specific that you found that helps give your licks that 'funky' sound? :)

Just curious! Great as always buddy! :D

  • @udsahn Thanks a lot Jason! Yeah, the whole thing is really an interesting rhythm. Once you have that, just apply some notes to it. :-)

  • Hey, David, I have a problem with my Overloud TH2... When I plug my guitar to the PC and get the program started, I get a really weak tone, and none of the effects that are listed seem to come out of the speakers. Just a really weak, clean tone.. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

  • @laza023zr Hmmm.. Not sure...

Is the line out button on the top right of the soft high enough?

  • @Wallimann Yeah, it is.. But I think the problem is that I don't have a pre-amp, and I plug my guitar directly to the PC line in. Result? Really, really weak tone. It's really frustrating you know, not being able to use THE BEST piece of software in the world..

  • @laza023zr Are you using an interface or plugging directly into the PC's line in on the sound card? If you're using an interface make sure that you plug into the input that has a pre-amp. Otherwise it will sound weak from lack of input strength.

When I use my M-audio interface I have to use the front inputs rather than the line in inputs on the back because the ones on the front have a pre-amp while the ones on the back don't. Hope it helps! :)

  • @udsahn I'm plugging it directly into the line in, guess that's the main problem.. I don't have an interface, unfortunately.. But thanks for the info, I appreciate it! ;)

  • @laza023zr First of all, whats your audio chain? guitar --> what?,next,is you TH2 original? be sincere,no problem, then, are you using any DAW? or you are using the standalone app? i will help you but i need this info

  • @pollin Audio chain: Realtek AC97; Guitar: Gibson Les Paul STD; TH2 is a standalone version(got it from a friend of mine); and that's about it.. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated!

  • @laza023zr Realtek audio devices suck when recording,i suggest get an interface,Mbox or something like that, the market is BIG in there, also,in you computer settings, audio and recording options,is the input, mic, line in or whatever level up enough? you can also check in TH2's main window there is an option called input level or something like that, you can check there if thats the problem,if its way too low

  • @laza023zr Check which inputs/outputs TH2 is using and its levels (unless you're using a Line 6 UX8 like me, which is a pain because it only lets you go stereo and I still haven't found a way to go mono and get the full sound)

  • @laza023zr Are you using a pair of high quality monitors or just using the crappy PC speakers?

  • @Vercingetorix They're mid-range powered monitors. Behringer Truths. But what you are hearing is direct from the computer.

  • Shit, that blow my mind!

  • @smokymcpot24 Thanks!

  • Nice playing as usual David, and a equally nice T-shirt, I've been saving up for a Egnater amp for ages now, it's tough when you don't have a job haha!

  • @kiaranjay Thanks a lot man! :-)

    I love that T-Shirt too. :-)

  • Awesome Wallimann :D

  • @Aeoliandorian Thanks buddy!

  • I just realized that you finger pick. Fantastic! Don't see too many fingerpickers on YouTube unless they're playing a classical guitar.

  • @nothingislogical Thanks! It's kind of new to me, but I love the tone it gives!

  • I'm guessing I need music theory for dummies,right?

  • @ArielJoePetrucci It could help, but doesn't have to be complex. :-)

  • awesome, I've always had some trouble putting together different scales, I mean, I don't have problem learning them, or playing in just one of them, but I never quite understood how to put them together.

Incredible playing, hope to see some more blues improvisation(sorry for the bad english, I'm from Argentina)

  • @ArielJoePetrucci Thanks so much!!!!

  • haha just by the expressions on your face its obvious your really getting into this

  • @sinistersecrecy Hehe! Yeah, I was... :-)

  • haha the "outside jazz playing vid was what made me sub" ^^ are there any prefered keys relative to the one your playing in to go to when you are playing outside of the key of a song?
