@808treston the only reason why your taught to keep your pinky out of the ring is because when you learn your fingers arent long enough so the way you hold the trumpet suffers but once you grow you are supposed to keep your pinky in the ring so you can play fast even while using the valve slides

Infact he was holding it incorrectly, Yes, the image is flipped, but his pinky shouldn't of been wrapped around the bottom of the trumpet like that.

I'm in the Marching Band at my school, and the Show Band. Show is a Jazz band. And next semester I will be in the Honor Band. I was in honor band when I was a freshman. I'm a junior in high school.

I would have never thought I would be at the level I am now when I was an 8th grader, and I've improved so much in these last two years (I'm a sophomore now). In fact, I'm lead tenor in my high school's varsity jazz band. It's kind of weird to think about how much I've improved. I guess I just grew a really big passion for my sax over the last year because I actually started getting good, so I practiced a ton more. And now I'm pretty pro. haha..
