By the way, Dingus, awesome satire in the last two. I wish people would understand the comedic value of your work rather than taking it so seriously. The unfortunate truth of the matter is, people are stupid.
that's exactly what i was saying. you have to put the verses in their correct time and context. and the verse in luke is definately an analogy, thank you for clearing this up. i was going to respond to your removed comment, but i have a bad concentration level, so now that i don't see it here, i can't respond to it! and you're right, dingus is funny!
Now to discuss some the new testament verses: I really just want to discuss one of these because all of the relevancy within them should be self evident. Luke 12:47-48 is not about how to treat earthly servants but an analogy. The comparison is between humans as slaves of God and humans as slaves of humans. The ultimate lesson is that if you are knowledgeable or rich you will be held more accountable than the poor or inept.
Dearest Breezy, The verses Meloco has posted are completely relevant. The first example is Leviticus 25:44-46. Not only are these verses telling the Israelites (this term is correct when discussing the Bible) to buy slaves but they are telling them to buy slaves that are NOT from among their own but those around them. These "laws" are the same as old Hittite laws. Hittites were one of the largest middle eastern civilizations at the time.
once again, i would apologize for people who misuse the bible, but they are not me, and they most certainly are not god! just got a reaction from perfectionzinc.
but where do we draw the line between what is right and wrong? of course, there are obvious sins, like the one's you talk about, slavery, incest, etc., that most people on earth would agree on. anyone who would argue that slavery or incest are okay by using the bible is just obnoxious, but as i said, haven't seen this video. it could be he was talking about being a slave to selfish desires, but then he would have to say that god says no to that! so good of you to explain yourself!
okay! i get your joke, but in most cases, to every joke, there is an element in it that the person making it believes. i still haven't seen this video of jf777's that you are talking about. but the bible doesn't condone slavery either. Now, you could say, the bible doesn't condone certain things, but also doesn't punish them. well, if you really look at human's and human behaviour, then you will recognise that we all are being punished for our sins in one way or another...
are you kidding me? just because it mentions that it was a practise in those times, does not mean it is seen as right in his eyes. "perfectionzinc", you need to understand god (at least a little bit) before you go telling people what you believe he says!
really, i don't know what translation of the bible you've been reading, but i have been reading the bible all my life and have never encountered such a verse. do you have slaves? because you talk as if you do. in fact, jesus isn't the type of character who would teach one to avoid persecution. so, you are making no sense at all...
you have taken every one of these verses completely out of context and time. also, you have forgotten why jesus came to the earth. for we are no longer greek nor jew nor man nor woman nor slave nor free, but all children of god. and as i said before, the statement that slavery existed does not make it right. and even in these verses, it doesn't state that it is a correct way of handling. don't just read the bible, understand it...
aha! anything for a good joke, i see! i just wanted to let you know that there were other people on the earth (according to the bible) during the time of paradise, those other people (some would argue they were the seed of satan, i won't, because i don't really get the whole satan being thrown to the earth thing, not to say it's not true). These people were not in the garden of eden, but it doesn't say that adam and eve's children didn't mate with these other people...
Yes, well, Jesusfreak doesn't realize that god doesn't believe in him. God saw one of his videos and said to Jesus, "Stop hanging around with that kid. He's got no balls.....no, I didn't give him any, but it's his fault! Just do as you're told....Christ! Just for once in your after life, listen to your father, ok? Oy! Kids! Think they know it all. You're only, what, going on two thousand years old, and you think you know better than your Father...".
But I thought there was just magically civilization outside the Garden. Didn't Cain find some wife somewhere after his little tiff? Something to do with Comand & Conquer I think, I dunno.
Your videos are fine, they are actually more than fine. They are funny and are full of originality. I haven't posted any videos in all most a year so I can't really say much, but you post great videos Dingus, keep up the good work, we need more people like you here on Youtube.

Why don't you read the damn thing? The Bible even tells us how to beat our slaves without facing prosecution.
Never ceases to amaze me you people that are so into the bible don't actually read it.

You''re an idiot: Ephesians, 1 Timothy and Luke are all new testament.
and you probably still haven't read any of the passages I sighted.

He said prosecution, not persecution. There is a huge difference there.
