i test drove the ford F150 platinum and the dodge ram laramie not too long ago. I am going with the Laramie because it rode much nicer on the road. Im not gona be towing anything but my 3900 lb boat (which is a 21 foot fishing boat with a small cabin) Also, the Laramie costs a considerable amount less than the Platinum Edition F150. The lifetime warranty which costs $3000 on the dodge is almost hard to refuse.

i would put a 2009 dodge 1500 against a ford f150 anyday in any test. dodge has a better and more powerful powertrain and now a better transmition. the new coil link rear suspension is very similar to a semi truck's suspension just downsized... coil springs r also used on train cars...

Well, utility-wise, that is the main purpose of a truck.
But I drive a truck for the safety and raw power, as opposed to some shitty Pruis made outta balsa wood that couldn't tow a radio-flyer.
Ford is more like a father's work truck in my opinion. The Ram is more of a giddy-up speedy badass teen truck. That hemi 5.7 can shoot a Ram from 0-60 in 5.7 sec.
Don't get me wrong, the F150 is a decent truck (better than Chevy/gmc), but I want badass, not Hank Hill.
The new Ram is the best looking pickup ever and it has a great balance of attributes to quench most peoples needs. It has a really nice interior, a great ride, great power (lets face it, the Hemi Ram absolutely smokes an Triton F150 in acceleration) and has great car-like handling. And as far as towing..sure if you need to tow 11,000 or 12,000 lbs than the ram isn't for you. But most people's needs are met well below that...for most it's just useless bragging rights.

the F150 is an overrated cheaply built underpowered lumbering beast. It's a suckers truck. The Triton engines have NOTHING over Dodge engines. The 5.4 barely outperfomed the Dodge 3.9 V6. And I can say this with great pleasure.. HEMI!!! Smokes Fords and Chevy's all day long without breaking a sweat.

The Hemi most definately is a Hemi. Even the smaller 4.7 carries Hemi attributes. The combustion chambers and pistons are Hemi ecept the pistons in the 4.7, The Hemi is as much a Hemi as a Vortec is a Vortec. As for towing capacity, I'll keep and drive my Dodge. The Tundra is an over priced POS just like the F150. Tritons are nothing more than poorly packaged boat anchors.

i would put a 2009 dodge 1500 against a ford f150 anyday in any test. dodge has a better and more powerful powertrain and now a better transmition. the new coil link rear suspension is very similar to a semi truck's suspension just downsized... coil springs r also used on train cars...

u serious!!! the New fords look like crap, the bed, tailgate styling... just looks too boxy. I'd rather get a 90's style Ford than any new one. But hey i'm not gonna say they perform bad, but all those towing figures are way off. yeah sure it might be able to move 10,000 pounds, but moving and comfortably hauling 10,000lbs are 2 different things. almost any truck can haul 10,000lbs once or twice down the road, but doing that constantly will break ANY 1500 cause they aren't made for that.

You got that right! I have seen friends and family come through my rough mountains with their 2008 Toyota Tundra's and it seems like the chassis is about to come off the entire damn truck. Dodge and Tundra's are for city folks who have smooth and paved streets. But here in the mountains you need a ford or a chevy to get through this rough terrain. My father always told me that Dodge and Toyota Tundra's are for luxury. Ford and Chevy's are for working men/women.

Well, utility-wise, that is the main purpose of a truck.
But I drive a truck for the safety and raw power, as opposed to some shitty Pruis made outta balsa wood that couldn't tow a radio-flyer.
Ford is more like a father's work truck in my opinion. The Ram is more of a giddy-up speedy badass teen truck. That hemi 5.7 can shoot a Ram from 0-60 in 5.7 sec.
Don't get me wrong, the F150 is a decent truck (better than Chevy/gmc), but I want badass, not Hank Hill.

The new Ram is the best looking pickup ever and it has a great balance of attributes to quench most peoples needs. It has a really nice interior, a great ride, great power (lets face it, the Hemi Ram absolutely smokes an Triton F150 in acceleration) and has great car-like handling. And as far as towing..sure if you need to tow 11,000 or 12,000 lbs than the ram isn't for you. But most people's needs are met well below that...for most it's just useless bragging rights.

Dodge: 5.7L OHV Hemi V8 390 HP 407lb-ft torque Ford: 5.4L SOHC V8 300 HP 365 lb-ft torque. Dodge:9950 Ford: 11260 Not much of a difference in towing. The ford is butt ugly and will probably have a failing transmission at 30,000 miles. I'd take the Dodge.

we had a '97, it was P.O.S Dodge 4x4 with 360 and the tranny couldnt do nothin but slip. 8 times in the shop, 2 tranny's replaced '97 and '05 Dodges we had sucked. i'm a Ford man, Dodges got a good body cause of the look but Ford still was first built before crappy tranny slipper

the F150 is an overrated cheaply built underpowered lumbering beast. It's a suckers truck. The Triton engines have NOTHING over Dodge engines. The 5.4 barely outperfomed the Dodge 3.9 V6. And I can say this with great pleasure.. HEMI!!! Smokes Fords and Chevy's all day long without breaking a sweat.

The Hemi most definately is a Hemi. Even the smaller 4.7 carries Hemi attributes. The combustion chambers and pistons are Hemi ecept the pistons in the 4.7, The Hemi is as much a Hemi as a Vortec is a Vortec. As for towing capacity, I'll keep and drive my Dodge. The Tundra is an over priced POS just like the F150. Tritons are nothing more than poorly packaged boat anchors.

the only reason the dodge trucks are still going is because of rednecks and cummins. cummins are great engines but they are put in very low quality trucks. for a fact mopar uses the cheapest quality products they can buy. and they said in the video that the ford outpulls the ram. the 5.4l triton can put out amazing numbers look at ford gt and lightning

no, Cummins aren't in low quallity trucks. If that were true, the Cummins engine would be tucked under the hood of Ford. Ford opted to use the Internation engines which are complete and utter junk.
