  • The music?

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 The music is called "5:03"?

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 ok. :)

  • [iminent=Ze2cKBgUWfOB] I Love this freeways. Thumbs up for this movie!

    _____________

I have just posted a cool Emoticon!

  • I used to live in culver city until we moved to ohio

  • Like the Muzik that is playing.

  • '

wow very nice video fast forward and clean movie

  • what is the name of the song

  • A lot of "Spanish names" in California.

  • @racsito39 Including "California" itself. LOL

  • I cannot find Part 2 in your videos.

  • @tall32guy i have not made the video yet. i will personally message you with it when i make it. it will be very soon.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Thanks much sir. :)

  • This landscape reminds me Greece. Great video. I feel like i'm there now !

  • Wow, I live in San Fernando and you made that drive look awesome... Side note: those meters since they installed them about a year and a half ago, have never been activated. Another side note, the control city for I-210 North starting in Pasadena is San Fernando. Just recently they started changing out the overhead sings and the CA-118 now has Ventura as it's control city at the ramp from South I-210 to CA-118 West.

  • Awesome video!! .I really had no idea this place could look so spectacular. :) - Great vid, Mr Master!!!

  • Nice one, Keep it up! :)

  • Very, very nice! The video quality was just like being there. I didn't get to drive this portion of the 210 while I was there and didn't know it was this scenic and desolate looking. haha My buddy and I spent a lot of time chilling in Pasadena and navigating LA's Metro Gold Line in the middle of the 210. Don't even get me started about the mass transit system there haha Great job again and I look forward to Part II!

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 They need to put lights at US-59 South to I-45 North :)

  • @Freewayjim lol at your favorite interchange haha . well it just needs to be closed IMO it is dangerous i see your point, but locals know that is a DO NOT ATTEMPT . hmm i can recall 3 lights to frwy entrances here off the top of my head . us-59 frontage to us-59sw just sw of i-610 when frontage ends. i-45n north frwy entrance just after cavalcade, us-290 nw freeway entrance around antoine dr . im sure there are others. there use to be a ton on old katy when ramps where to short.

  • @ 0:42 why would there be a traffic signal at a place where there is no intersection? Do you see that often on highways?

  • @101xfmrogers thats just your trypical los angeles freeway flaws. i personally have never seen a frwy to frwy light like that before , but entrances from streets are common ,

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 hahaha thanks for the reply. That's a bizarre flaw

  • @101xfmrogers: Those are metering lights that are turned on during peak hours; they're a simple, yet effective tool to keep the mainline lanes (especially in the case of I-210) from getting too congested.

  • @FreewayBrent that's a good idea of their part. Hey I hope you enjoy your new camcorder.

  • @101xfmrogers It looks like a ramp meterling light to me that is used during rush hour traffic to "avoid" freeway backups.

  • @101xfmrogers My guess is that it is a ramp metering signal that is used during rush hour traffic to avoid the freeway from backing up too much.

  • @ZLothKram sounds like a good guess - makes sense

  • @101xfmrogers The purpose of traffic lights is to regulate traffic, which is perfectly sound on over jammed LA freeways. I've seen on-ramp lights like that many times (SF or Europe), although i've never seen that from a freeway to another, before this video.

  • Comment removed

  • @101xfmrogers It's a ramp signal. Ramp signals like those are usually found on onramps from surface streets, but CalTrans seems to like doing this on freeway to freeway ramps as well. there to make sure that platoons of cars are broken up to make it easier to merge AND it's there to proportion the number of cars entering the freeway, so the traffic on the freeway doesn't exceed capacity.

  • @101xfmrogers During rush hours they're needed to prevent bottlenecks at freeway entrances.

  • @101xfmrogers I think those traffic lights are used during rush hours at freeway entrances with more than one lane, that way cars can enter safely instead of fighting over the right lane of the freeway.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 LOL, I'm guessing it was along the lines of "WTF is this?"

  • Excellent video, amazing that it is part of Metro LA, it looks like it's in the middle of nowhere. Stoplights at 0:42 for an expressway to expressway interchange? what's up with that? Big thumbs up!

  • @Freewayjim: Ahh, those are everywhere on California freeway to freeway interchanges. Simple metering lights to keep I-210 from getting congested at rush hour.

  • @FreewayBrent in ATL we have meters from non-freeways to freeways, which I understand but freeway to freeway seems odd.

  • @Freewayjim: Yeah, California does this all over the state. The most recent example would be the installation of metering lights from the eastbound CA 237 flyover ramp to northbound I-880, in an attempt to reduce delays along NB I-880. CalTrans also installed metering lights on the NB 85 to NB 101 connector ramp, a few years back. Next up might be the connectors from I-280 and I-680 to southbound US 101 in San Jose, to try and smooth out the flow on 101 through there.

  • @FreewayBrent Twin Cities MN has the second largest ramp meter network in the nation behind Los Angeles. Over 400 of them are installed in the Metro. Almost every ramp has a meter but some of them are hardly ever activated.

I used to Live in Los Angeles and while they have metering there it seemed like less of a hassle than here in the twin cities. Probably because here they turn on the meters BEFORE traffic gets bad while in LA they turned them on once traffic already was backed up.

  • Great video.

I'm not sure how 'dangerous' CA-2 is if you just take the same precautions you would any mountain highway and keep your eye on the road. I would like to see a video of that highway myself from La Canada Flintridge to the CA-39 junction. The transition from urban flatland to snow covered forest is really something. The most underrated mountain road though in my opinion is CA-38, "Rim of the World Highway" from Upland to Big Bear to CA-38 on down. Spectacular drive and views.

  • @willubhave i am looking to rerecord us-290 hov lanes inbound as soon as i get a buddy of mine and myself who i work with to get a day off together since i need a passanger with me. i have i-45 gulf/north hov's already filmed .and 59 sw hovs. that is something you will see from me within the next few months as well finishing up a few parkways west of downtown tx-35 and a westpark toll eastbound remake with the purple signs in the video lol

  • I am from La Canada Flintridge, California!

  • Nice to see the 210 get filmed. Great work on this man! I got family out there I'll be visiting so I might have to check out that angeles crest hwy for myself.

  • @eluko79 Angeles Crest is a dangerous drive as well as the many other routes through the san gabriel mountain range . if my plans go right i will return later this year and hope to drive the routes my self . but in the mean time everyone bug the shit out of Brent and see if he can get ca-2 filmed . ive asked him in the past to consider and try it , he says he has no current intentions. the route is available on earth in hd . you can see it has many dangerous switchbacks and grade's.

  • Great ride! I bet the 210 through Pasadena is a lot busier huh.

  • @aswchris yes . through pasadena AADT rises to around 300k

  • good way to finish up the year

  • @trashdunka99 thanks for watching , happy new year

  • I-210 finishes up for the year 2010.

  • @Cyrus992 thanks for watching .

  • drove this route in august 2010 :D

  • Nicely done. Beautiful scenery throughout. I like the video inserts at the end, as well.

  • Enjoyed the video. Great way to end 2010! Thanks for sharing and hope you and yours have a very Happy 2011!

  • @georgiaroadgeek thank you sir.

  • @georgiaroadgeek happy new year to you . thanks for watching

  • Thank you sir!

  • @HoltCalifornia no problem i know alot of people that have been screaming for this video for a very long time now . i will have the pasadena sections of i-210 up within a month.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2

Been waiting for this one for awhile. Glad you posted it. Now everyone can see firsthand the 210 isn't your typical L.A. freeway. Looking forward to part 2 and the rest of your L.A. videos. You picked a good selection.

    5 stars.

  • @adogg619 thanks and you are right . 210 is not your typical L.A freeway .
