@77danigga haha you're out of your mind, no offense, 90's series are the best ever. Not the shit is today , just a bunch of muscles dunking and jumping and forgeting that the first thing is the team. Lebron is just that , where was he in the finals? You put Lebron in one of these bulls-knicks games and he couldn't even breathe
@77danigga More than half of today's players could not play like a man in the physical games of this era. Who cares about dunks. MJ is a better dunker than either those guys, and the defensive intensity was so high in this series that he rarely had the opportunity to do it.
NBA players can't do anything today..even the slightest touch is a foul..back then people were getting pushed..karate kicked on dunks and nothing was called. NBA basketball during the 80's and 90's is nothing like todays soft NBA rules.
Dont forget the 1997 team... I believe they would have beaten the Bulls if not for the Charlie Ward/ P.J. Brown incident. The NBA fixed it so that would not happen!!
This can't be the NBA. I don't see any tattoos, or fashionable band aids and all the players can actually formulate a sentence and don't just say "you know" and "know what I'm sayin'". They also are not pulling guns out in the locker room over a card game. These reasons above are exactly why you would see a flagrant on X-man and a Tech on MJ. See back then the players werent animals like a few are today. Whats funny is the tugs we have today would cry like bitches against these Knicks or Pistons
its a shame I guess they dont want these guys pulling out guns and shooting each other today but its ajoke you got away with so much more and even hand checking was around untill the knicks deaded that. But flagrants are to tough and noone will put a guy on his ass quick how Oakley and a few others would do almost every game..not dirty just good hard ass fouls that has to be part of the game and is ruining the integrity of the play on the court. Also zone defense is killing the game for me,
these defenses would be unstoppable to todays standards but sadly it wouldnt work to todays nba rules..all these guys would be getting fouls for putting a finger on a player. I mean this is how basketball should be played...i wish i could have watched this nba but sadly i was only 1 year old LOL
Holy shit NBA basketball was NOTHING like it is today, I take back whatever I said about Jordan not being the GOAT. He faced the toughest defenses, obviously the refs let them get away with a shit lot more...damn I just wish I was old enough to watch games like these...the way basketball is meant to be played
@MrCombine basketball will never be the same again...the 90's was the toughest era, nowadays players are little bitches that can't hack a bit of contact when they're posting up
I am a huge NY Knicks fan and i am saddend by the decline of the team at the moment. But I have heard that a certian LaBron James might head to the big Apple in the next few years and if that happends the rest of the NBA better wtach out.
nothin gets you more excited than a bulls/knicks game, especially in the playoffs. it always seems like almost every game is close the entire time!
marv albert, mike fratello and ahmad rashad were the Dream Team of commentators. i love marv's dry sense of humor when pippen didnt pass to jordan on the breakaway dunk! LOL
I forgot how much the Garden was rocking back then. Regardless how much the Knicks suck these days, nothing can match the intensity of New York City basketball.
LOL Jordan dropped Starks at 2:39. he just accelerated too fast for Starks and Starks couldn't move his feet as fast as his center of gravity wanted to go, so he fell.
MJ's Jumpshot form between 1991-1993 is absolutely unmatchable. You can see it here. He is getting up there around 2-feet & than loading for the jump shot. Love that right handed rebound & left handed putback score in traffic. That Pip to MJ alleyoop dunk is unmatchable. Notice, how MJ sets Wilkins up & then pulls his hand so quickly where referees cannot even get a visual. MJ had all the tricks of the trade. He put to test in this grueling 7 games epic series topping off with superhuman 42 pts.
Great great game. saw it live. Imagine, Kobe playing in this era. He'll struggle to score 15 points at some 4 for 20 shooting. This was a true defense then. full court press. full court handchecking. absolutely no easy basket. hard rough fouls. MJ went thru them all & thats why he is by FAR the GOAT. Kobe shouldn't even be mentioned in same breath with extremely limited skills & talent compared to GOAT. MJ forever man.
this bulls team vs the heat, who wins in a best of 7? just remember, the bulls had only one scorer, MJ, Pippen was average

back then players would take hard fouls like REAL men and sprint to backcourt to defend. not like today where players waste time complaining to refs.

@dorkod
Amen to that.

if the kinks keep mcdaniel, wilkin,m'jackson , the knicks they'll win the championship in 94 and 95.

MJ's first step was so quick at 6'6 he made Starks fall without the use of a crossover.

I counted at least 4 flagrant fouls that were just "hard" fouls back then. The Pistons & the Knicks were brutal.
The Knicks were also a good offensive team by todays standards. Look at the good ball movement. Basketball at its peak.
