Yet another great video :) wait can you talk about the guitar fight club :D ?? And doug is there anywere i can get get some of those backing tracks because the ones i have now are not too great :(
The one vibrato I do not like is the "nervous" vibrato some beginners adapt from the way you vibrato a classical string guitar on to an electric guitar, it does not sound right, at least to me.
There is a super mega heavy metal band out there who has a lead guitarist who uses this "nervous" vibrato to no end.
@ibzmav I think it kept coming off. I'm pretty brutal with volumes and especially the toggle switch. I now have the original green guys back on there. Got them for $4 in Moorabin.
Awesome fuckin vibrato! I'm having trouble getting it down. I can do it slow and in tune for short periods, but can't get it going faster like you do. Do you have any tips on getting it faster? My arm seems to lock up. I can force it and get the fast shitty C.C Deville crap going, but it sounds like ASS!!! Also, do you use a lot of pressure, or is your hand loose? FRUSTRATED!!!!
@a1guitars Thanks, I'm not crushing the neck, if that's what you mean. The pressure is the same pressure for holding a note, it's just bend release, bend release. I'd say probably the best tip is to listen to guys with good vibrato: Lynch, Gilbert, VH, De Martini, Zakk...Start with Lynch, he holds the key..
Killa!! I think I have more bad days than good, comes with the territory. If you're gonna bust the spontaneous shit, expect a few shells in the scrambled eggs, ya know?
I have the live version of mr scary from like japan or something and he rips like fucking crazy. Best song though is tooth and nail from that album cause thats the only CD i have of Dokken.......Any CD suggestions?
For Lynch solos, try Under Lock and Key,the songs are gay, the leads are great. Back For the Attack is good as well. I think after that album I was done with cock rock in general.
im glad you mention andy larouque, he is one of my favorites. king diamond and even mercyful fate guitar solos have always sounded the coolest...if you have anythingf to say about them like specifically or a little lesson involving just then thatd be way cool. by the way you are way fn good
is that a seven string guitar and 3 pickup ? how BRUTAL ! lol
btw, i try to make a good sounding vibrato using my boss ds-1, but it sounds kinda sucks. Is there any good pedal that can improve my vibrato playing ? thx
Guitar fight club eh? Sounds like a cool idea. I just might have to post a video response!
Is there any way to take the tracks off myspace to jam to? I get better sound in my videos if I can have the track I'm jamming to playing through the amp via my ipod...
Awesome lessons. If you like your Podxt you should try the X3. I have the live version and it rocks. I'm loving the Treadplate and Big Bottom amps. The Chemical X is pretty cool too.
my vibrato is similar to those guys also, my teacher even complemented me on my on vibrato, plus it sounds cool too up high on the neck with the neck pickup on
Ha ha, cool!!! They're fun to make, until you get a comment that your tone sucks, your carpet's dirty, etc..You can't win, you just agree with them and move forward.

We should all post our "technique", it'd be fun.
Thanks.

@1251wire We can all learn from each other. But yeah, I almost told one student to stop playing, as his KH vibrato was gettin' on my nerves.

What do you think of slow and less wide? Not hating the wides, I use them a bunch too. You have a nice consistant vibrato, I must add.
JEESherazi 2 years ago
Slow and less wide seems fine in my book. Just not nervous and twitchy, that sounds fucking balls.

Haha, right on! couldn't agree more
