I am giving the final verdict on muscle vs imports Imports kick muscle cars ass in every sense of the word except when it comes to straight line racing. Muscle cars are big heavy inefficient and not very good cars but they are quick off the line Imports handle nice and will drive circles around any muscle car when it comes to real racing (racing with turns) I can appreciate a nice muscle car but in reality it is easier to make a import go fast than it is to make a muscle car handle well

There's not many cars from america with great handling at all, save for the vettes, and gt40, or fords rs200 ( restricted to wrc ) after that the list becomes quite blank. All of these pony cars are good for one thing and thats just going straight. I am giving the final verdict on muscle vs imports Imports kick muscle cars ass in every sense of the word except when it comes to straight line racing. Muscle cars are big heavy inefficient and not very good cars but they are quick off the line Imports handle nice and will drive circles around any muscle car when it comes to real racing (racing with turns) I can appreciate a nice muscle car but in reality it is easier to make a import go fast than it is to make a muscle car handle well

This argument will never die because of american pride however you can't have it all. There's not many cars from america with great handling at all, save for the vettes, and gt40, or fords rs200 ( restricted to wrc ) after that the list becomes quite blank. All of these pony cars are good for one thing and thats just going straight. This is why I really can't disrespect imports with medium power and fantastic handling, like the exige or the espirit, Mr2, NSX, Skylines, Supras, Rx7's. And more.

ok. and the fastest stock car in america 650hp... and we've had cars with 500hp stock for years... really, 500hp is not that big of an accomplishment.. for imports, yeah, but for domestics, not really... like i said, a set of heads and a good cam on a LS1 can bring me from 340hp to 490-500... imports need things like turbos and what not to get gains like that.. thats 150hp gain..

yeah there are some quick 4bangers... but their reliability is shitty... sure they can make 500 hp, but they will break.. a ls1 can make 500 hp naturally aspirated where as a 4banger needs forced induction.. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISCPLACEMENT... number one rule...
