  • Only in a song like this can you hear the words "I'm ready for the city... Air pollution, here I come!" without environmentalist do-gooders trying to censor it.

  • Burned a couple cds of old school music for guy at work. He's 20 years old and after he'd listened to them he came back and said 'Jeez there was a lot of great music around before I was born.'

  • this is when frickin music was music still sounds cool

  • what's there to say about the greats? kids nowaday got no idea. this is how we used to party! i'm sitll a fool for it.

  • @kimberkley ..kids today dont know how to even act without a phone in their hand and check every other second.. They think they r so cool with a phone..Not we didn't need phones 24 7

  • fuckin song kicks fucin ass!!!11111

  • Me too

  • It just doesn't get any better than this...talk about a wall of sound, from the first power chords to the ending arpeggios with that slinky bass line keeping it all in the groove. I'm a fool for loud guitars...

  • Many of us oldtimers ended up on some farm or commune during the late 60's and early 70's. The lyrics "tired of layin back, hanging around" goddamn how true. Couldn't wait to get back to the city.

  • The song is awesome of course...but I'd give my first born for that truck in the pic.Or any of those vehicles for that matter.

  • @alleah61

    Yep!

  • 35 years since I heard this. Still love it.

  • Just Fucking great!!!!!!Thanks SecondHelping,GREAT JOB! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song reminds me of my dad he loved this song he died in 2007

he use to get drunk and tell me about the good old days now i do the same.

  • I heard this song on the radio 2 days ago and I thought it was the coolest song I've heard in awhile.

  • Awesome song!!! Can't beat those 70's Rock-n-Ballads.

  • turn it the fuck up, and rock on my brothers!!!.

  • The magic of many guitars.....Foghat had it down!

  • I Love fishin in sewers!!!

  • I remember when I was a teenager and every time my band would play this, I'd throw my hair in my face, lean back, AND ENJOY playing it!

This is my FAVORITE Foghot song!

  • omg.......I'm alive!!!

  • makes me want to cruise in my old trans am with my hs buddies & a couple cases of budweiser:]

  • Classic Foghat !

  • This song will never get old! FANTASTIC!

  • Makes me wanna drive my 04 Vette at 100 MPH....

  • RIP

    Lonesome Dave Perverett

  • Foghat was THE BAND! And Lonesome Dave and Rod Price excellent musicians.

  • None of the new bands can match Foghat's intensity and perfection, I mean, listen to Nick Jameson's bass on this song! Not ta mention Rod's precise, ball-breaking solo. And Lonesome Dave Peverett's vocals were under-rated (by me, too, back in the day!) and are really top, top-notch.

  • Were you stimulated by "Slowride" back in the day? Well take a listen to BuckCherry's "Too Drunk". Though it be lewd, the song musically kicks total ass. Also check out releases from Filter, NIN, Jane's Addiction, Foo Fighters, Velvet Underground, Arctic Monkeys, Hot Hot Heat, Avenged Sevenfold, or Alter Bridge. These current bands will rock your f'n socks off!!!!!

  • @dhsingleton Are you sure you meant Velvet Revolver rather than Velvet Underground?

  • now hold on a second, these young musicians are reflecting the times of this age as Foghat did in theirs. Give 'em a break. No need to dog them....the music has changed as one would expect. But hey, I do love this music!!!

  • i'm a rocker and a fisherman and this cover is the sest !!! great song by a great band. rockin' blues..we miss you lonesome dave and rod price. rip they were two of the best.

  • The bass player was way too fucking good to be playing in this band

  • I played this when I got home sick when I was US. NAVY rock back to NEW YORK!!

  • Love the album cover! A band with a sense of humour! And a great song!

  • They just don't make 'em like this anymore!

  • NYC...here I come...oh, yeah; Seatle girl here.

  • I ain't no country boy either,I'm from Toronto.

    Robert Nix Rock/Pop Artist

  • i never understood why there's an old man sitting on a box fishing. WHAT A FOOL FOR THE CITY.

  • @thecurledcoif67 It's a joke, you mope. It's not an old man, he is the drummer, Roger Earl.

  • Fishing down a manhole means that you don't have to bring your own stink bait.

  • classic song gotta love it

  • We are fools for the city!

Listen to Rod Price burn that guitar up

  • GREAT SONG !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • long live foghat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe the current raising trend of suicides in the US is directly correlated to the lack of good music today. Long live the REAL Rock and Roll!

  • @Apoplectic1 I believe it's because we're becoming less and less satisfied with what we have, because all of the material goods we're chasing after is taking us away from our real purpose in life and we end up feeling pointless... but that's just me. ^_^u

  • fishing in a sewer says it all

  • from the british blues band savoy brown, foghat is blues on steroids. turn the crank frank and rock out

  • Instant trip back to ' 77

  • \,,/ (*o*) \,,/

  • imo, i think songs like this and muscle cars/choppers are like mac and cheese, or pbj. (i swear i was born in the wrong era)

  • I remember seeing Foghat in concert, love em!

  • Fool For the City | | \ /

  • Reminds me of walking through the city streets in my youth. Kicked ass then and still does now.

  • AWESOME CLASSIC ROCK. WAY TOO YOUNG TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT.

BUT, THE MUSIC KICKS YOU SQUARE IN THE MOUTH.

  • never gets old

  • Saw them in concert in Detroit in 1975. About 4 years ago I met the original bass player at a Super Bowl house party at "Steves house".

He(bass player) was checking me out. I am 55 years old. I

must still have it Going On!!!

TOOT TOOT!!!!! Yep thats my own horn! he he!!!!1

  • @TheMustangsally75 you go sally, how time is flying by!! and 55 ain't old.

  • When I hear this I always think of the Savoy Brown roots to this band and what an improvement Foghat was. Stands the test of time.

  • This song never gets old!

  • this song reminds me of when my best friend got his first place, and he only had a record player and only one of his records and it was this one, we ate some shrooms and danced all night to this! good times! =]

  • one of my favorite albums of all time, but foghat has alot of great albums

  • '60s and '70s, my generation don't know what they're missing :)

  • I don't live in washington state but bc can get there classic rock station and they said they were playing near seattle

just saying idk if there on tour or just a random gig

  • 70's goes good with a beer. and 60's are good with a joint

  • @goofymandan83 2011 still goes very well with beer and a joint...but with the music of the 60s, 70s and some of the 80s :))

  • @DutchHeartMonger1 I agree man wish i had both hell yeah !!!!!!!

  • @goofymandan83 60s / 70s / 80s are all good with a joint!

  • @goofymandan83 60's with a joint, 70's with acid and 80's with liquor

  • @deegirl6873 1980s definitely for me both with the music and with liquor instead of those other two things.

  • @deegirl6873 80's with coke for me. Liquor works in all those decades. peace

  • Did you know that he was a fool for the city?

This is a really likeable and quality straight rock song (that also happens to be from in the '70s), btw.

  • 70's at its best

  • 0 dislikes!!!!

  • homer simpson music ... which makes it classic of course.

  • Foghat and UFO are my favorite 70's bands :)

  • gotto love that fog hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when I see my inner city child...I'll be walkin on a cloud

  • I saw these guys in Germany back in 1977 or 78 with Thin Lizzie they just blew us away with this song

  • This song still kicks ass!

  • @bigbadbluewolf1 ---I have to agree 100%...I so miss the days when music was actually good...sigh....

  • @catsnvegas Me too that was Rock man it will never die !!!!

  • Best live band ever

  • It's about time someone posted the studio, I had to pray to get lucky for it to play on Pandora! hahaha, same with "Sweet Home Chicago"

  • love this and thank my older brother for buying the lp.

  • @jmdelan99 Indeed ! Thank the older Brother for buying it! Same here!

  • This is what you call "Roller Rock" the kinda stuff you blare while charging down the freeway in your 70's muscle car

  • Comment removed

  • @Survivor87 With the windows down, of course.

  • well you do have to be a fool (for the city) to like smog, after all

  • \oo/____( '-' )____\oo/

  • I can almost guarantee you won't hear the lyric "Air pollution, here I come!" in anything out of today's music. One of the oddest yet greatest lines in any song, ever.

  • @dudestr5552 Seems almost defiant, and ever so politically incorrect!

  • @Vydio Makes this song all the better (sorry if this posted twice).

  • Maybe my favorite by them. Terraplane Blues scores big.

  • @SundayDaytripper Yeah your right

  • REAL rock music here that blows away any of today's crap they call music (let alone rock n roll.)

  • @bucky468 so true

  • @bucky468 Although I respect yout opinion not all of today's music is crap I enjoy listening to this band very much but I also listen to current rock, metal, and death metal.

  • @Chronosassassin I was referring to the mainstream pop crap from today (some are calling Britney, Lady Gaga & Katy Perry who all use autotune & other such crap enhancers "rock" which is totally false.) Certainly not all of today's music is crap. Airbourne rocks, Wolfmother is good, some Jack White/White Stripes is good, Black Stone Cherry rocks, the Exies rock, HellYeah rocks, Crossfade is good & Silvertide rocks (they should've stayed together.) I don't mind Adele, KT Tunstall & Grace Potter.

  • @bucky468 Agreed although i must say i have never heard of most of the bands you have just mentioned so I have got some music to look up :)

  • @Chronosassassin When you finally look them up tell me what you think of those bands you never heard of. Jack White is a unique modern day guitarist. He can play arena/classic rock, alternative rock, prog-rock & the blues. I personally like his side project the Ranconteurs more than I do the White Stripes. Silvertide was a modern rock band whose roots were based more on bands like Foghat & AC/DC.

  • @bucky468 the printer left the 'C' off the first rap album by mistake..

  • @StratsRgreat Old school rap is nothing like the (c)rap from today. Gimme a Run-DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Curtis Blow or UTFO album any day of the week over Kanye, Nelly, Jay-Z, Eminem, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Niki Minaj or any of their ilk. There is a huge difference.

  • Rocking song!!!!!

  • Always loved the studio version of this .... thanks for putting it up!

  • Thanks for uploading - love the original studio version!
