mate! I got some problem! when i did jailbreak my iphone4's version was (4.2.1) from that time i haven't sync in itunes. i got new iphone 4s as well, so for that i upgrade the itunes version which is now 5.0 something like that.
my question is : if i want to sync iphone4(4.2.1) in newly upgrade itunes 5.0 how can i do that? is there any possible to do sync without any problem for (4.2.1)? Hoping for good answer mate.....! cheers...!
@ground2zero1 not quite sure. first make sure you are not on beta anymore cause the finals are released. so make sure iTunes is updated and so is your software and also make sure the computer and iOS device are both connected to the same network. then just make sure you have the box "sync over wifi" checked and applied in iTunes. that should do it :)
@PokeSpriterify idk that is very odd. Try a restore to your back up, and if that doesnt fix the problem, the only other thing i could thing of is restoring and setting it up as a new device which is a MAJOR pain. But idk how else to fix it. you may want to google it before restoring and setting up as a new device.
I have iTunes 5.4 and iOS 5 on my iPhone and would like to sync wirelessly but iTunes does not give me the option to check off SYNC OVER WIFI CONNECTION under the Options. That option is not even there. Thanks for your help.
i have a problem when ever i connect my ipad 2 (got it on oct 22) at the top right corner it says not charging can u help me with this? plz respond asap! THX
@XxBEASTBOIxX1 i believe this happened to another person on the iPad 1. Try a different power source. How are you charging it now? i believe if you try a different cord or different outlet or something it will charge. it also may be a problem with your software so try updating your software or doing a restore if you are already on the highest software.
@Amateurbmx1 upgrade your iTunes by downloading the newest version from apple dot com. then make sure your running iOS 5 FINAL or GM (Gold Master). then try it again. also make sure you check the box when ur device is plugged in that says "sync over wifi"
PLEASE HELP! i downloaded this new version but now all my music is gone but luckily i had most of it saved on my computer and i downloaded new songs but when i have to change the info it won't change
@Ivan4131994 so when you change the info it doesn't allow you to? like when you right click on it and then click get info it doesn't let you change the stuff?
@iTechEveryWeek i could right click and i could change it on my computer and shows the changes too on my computer but in my ipod i doesnt show the changes, i download music from websites, some don't have the right cover or name, for some reason those changes do appear when i fix them but it wont let me change the album name, artist name, or album artist name, before this update when i sync it says syncing on my ipod but not andymore and also it doesnt say loading library on my ipod when i change
your internet connection won't have ANY affect on the syncing speeds. you arent downloading. it's running through your router and wireless within your home. its limited by your router, distance from router etc NOT your internet speed
Can anybody help me. I did all this but my iPod won't sync and will just say steps 4 out of 4 forever. Even when I connect it to my Mac it wont sync. It will say there's an unknown error for when I wirelesly sync and plug in my Mac sync. So please help me out here and it won't even let me back my iPod up too. So anybody please messenger me or reply to help me out. Thanks :)
@zuvkovich Just turn on "Manually manage music and videos" in the same section where "Sync over Wi-Fi connection" is. Then you can just drag and drop whatever music you want to the device name on the left of iTunes and drop it on.
It's a great feature, but honestly, I probably won't use it much at all except for apps since I have a 120 GB iPod classic (I have more music than my iPhone can hold so wireless sync is pointless at the moment)
@jessieoedipus thanks for explanation.. but now occur another problem. on my iphone, there is no automatic downloads (from general settings > store). and I did try for syncing over Wi-Fi connection like u said. However, I cannot see my iphone devices on iTunes :(
Hey man, i've upgraded to iOS 5 final on my iphone 4 and download itunes 10.5. I've connected my iphone the 1st time via usb cable to make the first sync and then checked "Enable sync via wifi" on itunes, but when i unplug my usb cable, itunes doesnt read my iphone anymore! I double checked that itunes wifi sync is enable on my iphone too I restarted my itunes and it still doesnt find it.
I tried to sync on the iphone but it says "Sync will happen when your laptop is available" .....wtf lol?
@sindoroganteng upgrade your iTunes by going to apple dot com visit the iTunes tab and download there. that will give u iTunes 10.5 FINAL for iOS 5. also after installing that newest version of iTunes hit check for update when your iPhone is connected. that will get you running the iOS 5 FINAL. everything should work smoothly after that. PS: Downloads are running extremely slow off of Apple's servers so i recommend searching for the downloads on google.
When I try syncing wirelessly, my iPhone doesn't show up and to make it show up I have to connect it and then disconnect it before it syncs then sync it wirelessly, but when I do that it says unknown error after like step 2/5.
@mlb0777 upgrade your iTunes by going to apple dot com visit the iTunes tab and download there. that will give u iTunes 10.5 FINAL for iOS 5. also after installing that newest version of iTunes hit check for update when your iPhone is connected. that will get you running the iOS 5 FINAL. everything should work smoothly after that. Great vid! But I'm having problems, I'm on iOS 5 GM and iTunes beta 7 for pc 32bit,(the newest version for pc:(.) and it's not working, it syncs but after it syncs if I unplug it, it will not sync over wifi, do you tap cancel on your iPod on computer?
@aarchie11 ok im a little confused. So you went into itunes and checked sync over wifi then hit apply after hitting apply i would close itunes disconnect your ipod and then reopen itunes. when itunes reopens your device should appear in itunes without the charging battery sign next to that means its not connected but because it is appearing you have the option to sync over wifi so you can either start the sync from going into settings on your ipod or in itunes. try it again and tell me if it wor
@TeamMongProductions Ok so you have iTunes open on your computer and on your iDevice it says resume sync? if so then you must have started a sync previously and apparently it has a resume feature that i wasn't aware of yet so that is pretty cool. If you tap resume sync what happens?
@PlatypusOhioMusic try a software update of the computer. like apple logo software update. try it someone else did it and there was an update that for some reason made it work.
I have downloaded iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 for Windows. I've installed it on my Stationary pc and I started iTunes and connected my iPhone 4 to my computer and checked the "Sync over the Wi-Fi connection". I disconnected my iPhone and tried to sync via Wi-Fi, but I could not. Has my computer to be connected ove the Wi-Fi or will it even work if my computer is connected via lan on the same network?
@swc20 the computer and iDevice I believe both need to be connected to the same network. i don't remember, but i think in the video i said you might be able to be on a different network but i think it has to be the same now. So make sure they are both on the same network, and also make sure your iPhone is on beta 4 also.
@iTechEveryWeek I have iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 and my iPhone 4 has iOS 5 Beta 4 and they both are connected to same network. My iPhone is connected via Wi-Fi and my computer via LAN (the cable is connected directly to the router/modem). And it doesn't still work.
@swc20 Not sure if it works LAN because I'm connected using wifi on both. Im not positive it sounds like it should work. When i have the time i will try to set it up the way you do and see if it works. If it does work ill see it there are any solutions to fixing the problem you are having.
@leoinggeo I'm not sure on that. IK that iCloud backs up your iDevice when its on the lock screen and being charged. but I'm not sure on it actually syncing it.
i have windows 7 and iTunes 10.5 beta 2 and iOS 5 beta 2 and i can't activate the sync over wi-fi connection in iTunes!! I can't see that option when my iPod is connected!!!
@jasonmullins2 You are not suppose to have it for windows so either you don't actually have beta 2 or it's not the true itunes with all features. Just guessin I'm not positive.
doesn't make sense that it'd sync using the internet at all.. I assume it only works over wi-fi (or at least a virtual wi-fi network as the name infers.) That being said, it does seem slow for LAN transfer...
my old 2 gb ipod nano first generation wont sync to my computer or itunes it worked before but now it doesnt, before i synced it i deleted some playlists could tht have stopped my ipod from syncing? plz help anyone
@azngop2 No that should not have done it. It at least doesn't seem like it. Idk anything about it though. I know more of the new devices like iPad iTouch and iPhone. So idk any program that could help get you out of it. I would just recommend restoring.
