as far as i know, Gordon Parsons who wrote the song is Australian born, as when i met him twenty odd years ago he didn't have a trace of an Irish Accent...

yer man dan Sheahan wrote a POEM entitled Pub Without Beer, which Gordon Parsons rewrote into the song Pub With No Beer...
