  • those are 15 inch alpines rite

  • @Badshoter

X's come in 12s and 10s only. Id be nice if there were 15s, i would think 2000 watts rms if they did make em :o

  • Those right there will run ya about 500 a piece

  • @Zeus714x

Not sure where your shopping but its the wrong place cuz they run 275 everywhere

  • the X series better than the Rs?

  • @HnEhonda X series is higher sound quality, and stays high at high levels. R series is straight banging, but not as much sound quality as the X and even less at high levels. Both can play just as loud, but depends what you are in the market for. My X plays all different types of music clean and solid and precise compared to alot of other systems.

  • @thekingdonecome ohh gotchaa.

  • @HnEhonda yuuuuuuuuuup!!

  • @HnEhonda the x series are alpines top of the line

  • How many channels is that Infinity amp?

  • now thats wot i call alpine basssssssss

  • whats the song?

  • it's a shame. Always nice video's but the camera sux :P

    just can't handlbe the bass:(

  • type x's are overpriced

  • u get what u pay for

  • ported is for ppl that like showing off and get ppl to hear it from far away. sealed is quality and hits the low bass better. u should go sealed

  • @jacktharipper3 i actually dont agree. i like the sound of portd better

  • @Msp2011 what one makes the car rattle like shit?

  • @jacktharipper3 normally ported

  • @Msp2011 thought so. they push more air right? i think ported frequency is higher

  • @jacktharipper3 yep. idk are you trying to choose between buyying one?

  • @Msp2011 no trying to choose box to put my cadence 400rms in to, it in a sealed now just wonder what it would sound ported.

  • @jacktharipper3 you can make a ported box sound just as good as a sealed box its all about tuning and box placement.

  • im running 600 watts to my 2 12 inch type ares in a custom ported box and it sound pretty good but i dont have a hatchback lol i have an intrepid

  • what power hifonics is that? and also what ohm are u running at at?

  • If you have the amps for it, I don't see any problem with 1000WRMS, and if you have cash for a pair of type X's you have cash for a decent radio so that you can adjust the power sent to the subs ;)

  • whats better the type X or type R?

  • a type x is twice as good. type x runs at 1000 rms and a type r runs at 500 rms. i have a type r

  • I have my type r's running at 1000 RMS each, with a alpine M2000.

X's are better, but the type R can take a shit load of power.

  • you are retarded then. they are rated at 500 rms for a reason. how long have you been doing this? i bet it wont last long

  • Your an idiot, thats its RATED RMS handling, not its peak.

The type are can take a lot of punishment.

And how long? Had this set up for 6 months.

    Any problems?

    No

    Any Damage to the subs?

    No

I work with car audio everyday. Would I double the RMS rating on every sub?

    No

But with the type R; you better believe it.

  • is that not what i said? u should learn to read... and i do to.. so tell me why alpine would make thier subs look worse than they really are? would they not want to make them look as good as possible? and yes it does take a bit more with no probs but i think 1000 rms is wayy to much

  • they are rated 500 to 1000 with peak 3000 they ll be fine you idiot... unreal tho i run mine at 500 each

  • Type X can take 1000WRMS each. I bet they last longer than type R's too, they have 3 suspensions.

  • Idk man, type X are better for a reason. But type R's can handle some real abuse.

I have matched my dual type R's running 1000w RMS each to em, against 2 type X's running the same wattage, and My Tens were unreal. Type X has lower bass, but it kept missing, mine hit hard and on the right time.

  • @freshmasterpimp i would hope they last longer then R's they r like 3 times more expensive lolol.

  • @sk8erandp8er, depends on what your doing... SPL or SQ? If your looking for SPL or just getting loud the Type-R is where it's at. If your looking for sound quality and have $ to burn for an alternator, batteries, fat copper runs and a powerful amp, the Type-X is what you want.

"ehbra" has no idea what he's talking about...

  • i have been in a car with type xs and it is much louder then the type rs

  • @battlefield24life, It all really depends on the quality of the install. R's can get just as loud as an X. Just cause it handles twice the power, doesn't mean it's louder.

Once again, the X was designed by Alpines engineers for SQ first. The R was made for a bit of both SQ and SPL, they made it way more efficient. In the right install it's capable of getting just as loud as an X in it's proper install on half the watts. That's what makes it the better SPL sub.

  • Your right bro.

My R's are bein run by an Alpine M2000. There kicken.

  • @manikrider911

I have a ? for you or any one that can help me out. I have little VW GOlf and I just put in a 10" type R powered by a Kicker 550.3, and it sounds real nice in my hatchback but I'm wonder what size box would sound the best. I built an angled box that sealed that fits behind the back seat that is approximately 0.6 cubic ft and I'm wondering if I build a box thats 1.0 cubic ft if it will sound better. I was told not to port because I would loose the smooth bass a type R puts out.??

  • @quadraboy

Any sub in a hatch sounds better :P.

The bigger the box, the better the sound. IF built right, and built right for your car. Now the port and unported part. Mine are in a custom PORTED box. But with ported and unported, its like some people like chevs and some like ford, depends on your taste. If you build a bigger sealed box, you will need a bigger amp. sealed sounds good, but they also require more power to run them.

  • type x hit 100 times harder but there both a good choice of sub (:

  • type x...

  • TYPE X! by a mile

  • type x by a long shot but type r's r nice subs though

  • nice setup sounds really nice.. the only bad thing i can say is the wires are hangin everywhere clean it up a little.. but still very nice setup

  • dude those type x's fuckin slap man nice setup

  • Ya but orion is a different league. for its league, the type X is the best

  • Dont ORION hit harder? 4000Watt Each sub and a maximum of 2--THOUSAND RMS!

  • fuck you

  • OH DAMN

  • folded sweet

  • sounds good i aint personaly heard the types x's in person but i've heard two 12" type r's in a oldsmobile alero witha 2250 watt planet audio amp them mother fucker beat the shit out of the car havent heard better in person

  • damn that shyt slap bro mad props i like ur setup bro

  • lmfao, goof! Apline is the fuckin goddamn best of the best go get your cheap subs, type X will murder them, 1000watts alpine watts per sub is better then your shit pioneers putting out 1000watts per sub, fuck that cheap shit, alpine or go home

  • oh so Kickers suck too?

  • do you have any electrical upgrades

  • le falta cajon pero son la mamada

  • YO..wuts better type x or r??

  • «from worst 2 best» type e, type s, type r, type x (the best)

  • a lot of that is just personal preference...type e and type s i would say are for more rock...and the type r and type x would be like hip hop or something where you want A LOT of bass... like my type of music...2 10" type e's is all i need...and they do kick pretty hard...but i don't need anything deeper or like 500 rms per speaker like the type r's are giving out..

  • You're all confused....

  • i hav 3 type Xs in my car.. n the otherday the wheels fell off

  • nowwas this because the car is fifteen years old or?

  • more then that lol or someone did a bad job putting it on...lol

  • lol

  • LMFAO alpine is

  • lmao!

  • @holzy8 cool story bro.

  • @holzy8

    lmao

  • lmao my speakers have more bass than type e's.. the x's are nice but too much. I only have a R hooked up to goliath and its fuckin nuts.. i cant stand in sometimes in my car.. my damn side mirrors fall off sometimes lmao..

  • DUDE i was at bestbuy i heard type S woofers and they were amazing those must hit REALLY hard haha

  • Also get a longer video of this shit it is amazing sound quality i like it alot and some idiots on youtube don't have as good sound quality where you can actually feel the bass thru ur speakers or headphones haha or feel the pain from it :P

  • i am with you poopiepp, i also have 2 typex 12" with 2 pdx1.1000, barely hear nothing

  • Dude get a video up of your setup. There must be something really wrong with how it was installed or how it is powered/wired because what you SAY you have should rattle your teeth. Maybe your just an internet troll spreading his filthy troll lies about good products? Keep us informed. I wanna see these Type Xs that dont slam. With 2000 watts of mono block power at that. Jackass.

  • i have 1 type x 12 in a sealed box, sounds like shit, barely hits at all. really disappointed.

  • whats it amped with?

  • your amplifier is far to weak type X's are insane they require up to 2000 watts of power at least

  • that sounds nice..u make your box? or buy it? and im planning on two 12" type x's this summer, another yellow top optima batt to get rid of my capacitor, 0 gauge wireing, and ive fount this website that allows you to make or enter demensions in and see what kind of frequency you will get and everything else.and are you runnining both on one amp? and if so what kind. thanks.

  • yo bro whats that website at? i want to make me my own box and i need a guide like that thanx in advance.

  • I wanna get me 2 10" alpine type x's sooo bad or 12 i have to see what will fit :(

And also i need to know what to use to power it i gots a amp in mind but i need to know what kind of capasitor and if i need another battery, plus a new deck :(

  • tens hit really high bass. the bigger the sub the lower the bass dumbass. my tens make your ears bleed because it hits such amazing highs. my buddys 15's make breathing hard because the bass is so low

  • wrong. 10's CAN be higher and 15's CAN be lower. just cause there 10's dosent mean there higher on average... there just capable of producing higher frequencys. same with 15's. it just depends on the music you play.

  • ur both wrong it all matters on the box theres a vid on youtube were this guy put a 3 inch speaker and people thought there were two 15s !!!

  • sirisous? yea your right i was just tellin that dude that 10's arnt deeper then 15's (assuming in the same box)

  • lol ya did ya c the vid with the 3inch speaker or sub ? idk wut it was lol but it was loud as shit for that small of speaker

  • I just put a down payment on the PDX 1.1000 and the alpine type x 10 inch woofer, what would run better on this amp the 10 inch or 12??? sorry but i'm a noob @ stereo systems... i just put money down because of the boxing day sale... the guy at the store also said that the 10 inch woofer will hit faster than the 12...

  • true, the 10 will hit faster becouse the 12 has more surface area thus the "Voice Coil" having to move a larger area faster and which also causes the assembly to heat up faster becouse its having to move much more space, im not saying you shouldnt buy the 12" but im just trying to answer your question as best as i can becouse im only 16 and have been into car audio since i was about 12.

  • Yes, the 10 will hit faster. It more or less depends on the music you listen to. A 12 will hit lower notes and be louder with the same power. A ten will be more accurate for fast drum beats or something similar. My personal choice would be the 12. Because to me the 12 is fast enough already.

  • yepp and dont forget the power of magnet, if magnet is powerfull in 12" it will hit as fast as 10" =) but 10" still more accurate, 12" more lower notes... both got those negative/positive things..

  • yea the 10 will probley hit harder in the lows but the 12 in hi's

  • Single SPG555 FOR WIN OVER X... woot

  • true that

  • is 2.0 cu ft port to big of a Box for a Single 12"????

  • 2.0 cu ft ported box is the max for a type x 12"

  • What do you guys think is better Alpine 12" X-type or kicker 15" L7.

  • type x for sure!

  • kicker 15" L7 will eatttt alpine

  • alpine x 12??

  • how mutch did they cost

  • One of the best subs out there

  • box dimensions?

  • dude this sounds better than the new one yo?

  • where did u get your boxes from???

  • how many watts are you runnin for both your subs

  • Ok i really like yor vid..i would really appreciate it if u can answer my question.i have a toyota 4runner and i am setting up a system which is (2)15s type r and for the type of amp i wanna use im not sure yet but i saw your vid and it seems that i wanna use a hifonics amp thats probably what im going 2 use but not sure on the amount of hifonics watts to buy, i was thinkin a 2000 watt,so if u or anyone can help answer my question it would really be a great thanks to u . nice system too.

  • which hifonics amp is that and do you like it?

  • i could get the door to bounce open at my audio shop back home.and that was before i upgraded.

    not a fan of alpine.ive had it all.pine, kicker,rockford fosgate,ma audio,and currently earthquake audio.

alpines just dont sound right to me.not the sq i like, and the spl isnt that BA.i hit 138 decibels with a fosgate p1 15".no alpine ive ever seen has beaten that.

and now ive got 2 earthquake DBXi 12's. 1200 watts each.homemade huge ported box. dynomated.

    i win

    but nice set up.clean

    keep bumpin

  • badass system neox. I rattled quicktrip's gas pumps the other day with my 2 type r's and 500 rms to each. I would love to hear how loud these are.

  • dude, you look like you got plenty room to mount your amps on top of the box. Much cleaner looking that way

  • don't mount your subs to the box. You take a huge chance messing up the insides of your amp when you mount them on the box. The vibration of bass starts to make things come loose or break.

  • not if you have a quality amp, but mounting amps to the box makes it that much easier to get robbed.

  • i ahd meant don't mount the amp to the box. Thats also untrue. Even if you got a rockford t4000 mounted to a box it will shake the insides. It is in owners manual not to do it. It is common sense

  • maybee if u have a cheap as* amp or if u dont know how to properly instal anything

  • I wouldn't do it. Mounting the amp to the box isn't even an option for me.

  • amps dont matter at all when it comes to stereos it all matters on the box trust me i learned this from da pros if ya want proof type in youtube prototype phase box and see the results

  • all you really have to do is put a rubber isolating washer between the bottom of the amp and the box

  • yeah dont mount your subs to the box!!!!!! dumbass

  • song name?

  • I'm pretty sure that's Stuntin' Like My Daddy by Lil' Wayne.

  • Bird Man feat Lil Wayne and Jadakiss.

  • mysubsbang

    are you retarded?

    w7 would whoop alpines anyday

    no offense to alpine

    but JL W7's got this.

and there not 700 a piece, new ones you can find in an actual audio store for 450. ebay for 350

  • your wrong son i had 2 xs and i hit 148.5db fuck your jl shit!!

  • hey kinda random... i got two 12" R's with a real nice sloted box and the MRD-M1000 amp.. also wired my car with monster cable and put in boston/ eclipse speakers... but the head unit i have is a higher end sony... that came with my car.. should i replace asap or can i hold it off?

  • REPLACE!!!! iv got heaps of sony gear(phone, cenima amplifier, bluray player, cd player, digital reciver etc) And its all awesome but i would NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a sony car product. For middle of the road stuff alpine and especially pioneer in headunits SLAUGHTER them. A Great Value For Money QUALITY Headunit Is A Pioneer deh-p80rs And It wont cost a fortune, Also I speak From expirience ...Pioneer Build Better Headunits Than Alpine, But Alpine KILL Pioneer For Speakers, Amps and Subs.

  • you couldnt be more wrong lol

  • recent sony gear has risen back to a reasonable standard nowadays.

stop being so narrow minded about brands too

  • would 1 ALPINE PDX 1.1000 CLASS D CAR AUDIO AMPLIFIER MONO AMP work in that set-up for 2 Alpine X-Type subwoofers. would i need 2 of these amps or just one? the amp has a max of 1000 watts RMS. can someone please help im thinking of putting these in my Dodge Charger. thanks alot

  • no will never power them with enough power hifonics brutus is what you need one amp enough power. or 2 kenwood x1r's 1200rms watts each.

  • No way. These subs are 1000 rms a piece. Try the 2000 watt alpine amp.

  • I'de say kicker buddy

  • just got a question whats better 2kicker L715" OR 2 alpine 12"??

  • alpine type r's or x's 15 inche

  • only r's come in 15's i have two =D

  • my bad man your right.

  • no worries bro, i'm just mr alpine haha

  • im not so hot on the box, definatly not big enough for 2000 watts RMS.. i would think about getting a bigger box. but it is a sweet setup and i bet is still loud as shit!

    peace

  • check the video response ^^^ built a custom box a few months ago

  • ok man i saw the response what the ffffff dude i hope to god they are seperated in that box.

  • Type X is wicked loud with a 3000 watt peak...that is crazy!!!

  • who gives a shit about peak power

  • Hello!!!!

I am spirit to realize an installation with a sub swx 1243D as that of the video and I would like to know if I little to put the amplifier pdx 1.1000 to feed my subwoofer thank you

  • hey i am wondering what size box these are in?

  • You sound stupid... it's the microphone that can not pick up the frequency causing to distort. o.O

  • First of all, let me start ofw/ nice car. I like your setup alot, however, you can get alot more movement from those subs. That Hifonics amp dont actually produce 2000 CLEAN watts, do ur getting the excursion you could. try getting a bigger amp, if you want deeper, cleaner bass. You still have a very nice set-up, but if you have the money try it.

  • Infinity amp... I used to have a few of those... That looks like the 600w one... I could be wrong though.

  • nice man dont listen to what people say personally jl's are way to expensive for what they are

  • they both cost alot, its not like jl is alot more expensive

  • the only jl that can keep up with these is the w7 they are 700 a piece. the alpines are only 450 almost half that.

  • all of you suck my dick right now!!!!!

  • how much cubic ft per sub?

  • I just added a video response ^^ with my new vid.

New box is a 5.6cu in (2.8/sub) ported box with 2 3" flared ports tuned to 31hz... the first i've ever built.

  • Am I supposed to feel the air when he puts the camera in front of the port?

  • lol

  • narr man, it means u have cancer

  • RF 4 Life...instead

  • type x's are cool, iv got 2 12" my self in a double sealed box with 2 mrd 1001 mono amps,1 to power each sub but i cant get them to sound great , should i get a big power cap or a bigger box???? or ported box??

  • You'll get a lot more sound with a ported box, but the low notes don't hit quite as hard. Still well worth it in my opinion.

The best way i've found to tune my type x's (on a single hifonics 2006d) bass boost ~ 20%, gain 90%.. very little distortion, very impressive bass.

  • 90% gain.......please tell me your kidding.

  • haha, I hope you know that the gain isn't a "volume knob". It in fact matches the amps output correctly according to the voltage of your preamp input. Well, "correctly" if set right lol,

  • Who gives a shit whats better? i love my alpine gear and i get what i payed for. full type R system with the PDX amps and a cdea 9887 head unit. i still have to get the subs installed but aslong as YOU like YOUR sound system everything is sweet

  • true u should look at my type r video

  • i dont the w7 can handle 100watts. in my opion.

  • what kind of amp is that?

  • Hifonics Brutus BXi2006d Super D-Class

  • Alright firsy off.. Alpine>JL Audio.. second of all.. ive seen 2 type R's hit 153.3 db's.. type r's.. not type x... those 2 type r's blew away 3 15" L7's..the W7 is nice yes.. but has no where NEAR the SQ at a high SPL as the alpines can preduce.. why do i want ot buy a speaker that hass replaceble parts..plus can can over power the SHIT outta alpines... looka t some videos.. R's rated at 500rms getting 800-1100.. u can put 2000rms to the type x.. can u w/ a w7?NO

  • first of all, alpine quality doesn't even compare to jl.and second of all i have seen people putting 2000 watts to a jl w 7. the alpines might go louder, but thats where it stays. 200$ subs do not compare to 600$ subs. even though jl is over priced. im dont like either jl or alpine, so im not biased.

  • My friend has a 2002 VW Jetta and had two Alpine 12" Type Xs.. with two 1200.1 JBL amps and they weren't loud at all. I have 1 12" JLW6 with a 500.1 JL amp and my car is actually louder. It may be the fact I have a hatchback and he had a sealed trunk, but I just think it had to do with the Type x's suking ass!
