Uh, what was up with this f/a shouting commands???? It was not the correct procedure...Stefano pretty much said it all.....and yes,,,, f/a's need to follow procedures in their emergency manuals..... I was a flight service manager for TWA for 35 years.....if I was the supervisor on that flight, I would have shoved that f/a to the side and took over!! He wasn't very nice either! UA sucks big time

This F/A was way off... should have been yelling "Brace brace heads down, stay down" or Brace brace heads down brace brace heads down" or something to that affect- saying KEEP YOUR HEADS ON YOUR FOREARM- 3- 2- 1- WE'RE STILL ROLLING DO NOT MOVE isn't quite rite.
@mm1979dk The Dash8 is not defective by design, it is the airlines that do not follow the proper maintenance procedures. Just look at Horizon Airlines, they haven't had problems with their Dash8 fleet and they are one of the largest operators of the type.
United sucks??? I guess that a gear problem could NEVER happen to another airline's planes....hhmmm I would just be happy that I landed safe and alive!!!!!
you keep your head down to protect your brains and it tenses the body and they need to go in circles and burn the fuel up before landing so it doesnt explode

@virginbluedude I agree with you but maybe he didn't want to terrify the pax but i think in this case doesn't matter if they are scared or not you have to follow the impact procedures....
@stefano8292 As far as I know, NO airline trains their F/As to count down the seconds until impact. The F/A should have been shouting "brace, brace, heads down stay down" or "grab ankles keep your heads down" or something similar until the aircraft was stopped. F/As should be following tried and true procedures in an emergency, not making up their own.
