It's a boar. A big boar. That tree's too big for a buck; they like skinny little pines for scraping and look at the way the grounds trampled down around it.
I really dont think its a buck, if its tht low off the ground it might be some small game animal u have in the area. Where i live the bucks rubs i see are usually 3 feet off the ground or sometimes 4 feet and the horns wudnt tear up the tree as much as tht animal did to the pine tree. Its to big of a tree for a white tailed deer to rub its horns on.
We dont have wild pigs here in Canada, but im assuming thats what caused this. Never seen one but I know a fair amount about animals...Only thing I can think of is a pig.
You must have VERY little deer down there in BIG Texas! Our deer scrape here at about 3-4 feet off the ground. If that was here, it would have been a porcupine that ate the bark off, if it was a red pine or a hemlock.
Whitetail buck, but I have no clue why he whould scrape on the side of a pine tree. Usualy they know better because it get's their horns all sticky and sappy, one dumb buck "their the best eating!" lol great video 5*'s
also where i live bears will bite sapplings into usually about 5 to 6 foot up off the ground they will chew the bark and break into it usally just before the breakinin point of the sappling where i live if you starve to death it is your own fought all you need is a mullet rifle/canepole or a .22 rifle i can guarantee i will have you something to eat in 1 hour or set out traps i am so blessed by god to be living in an area surrounded by nothing but hunting clubs i live in the middle of 7 clubs
deer will rub pine trees but usally will not go that low if it was a deer i would love to hunt that big one also look for another rub on another tree nearby look for a rub line this would tell you the dominate derection of travel from a deer if it was made frome a deer look for inner bark to be curlled up like shaveings off of a wood plane that is an old hog rub pour old motor oil on it they love it beleive me where i hunt you can shake a metal can full of corn they will come a runnin for it
piney woods rooter that is what it looks like here in my neck of the woods here in n,e, florida near georgia also look for droppings and hair stuck in the bark
All i would know is that a deer did it. We dont have wild hogs or many bears here in central Va. So I have never seen what a hog or a bear can do to a tree xD
hog rub right there. find them all the time here in northeast FL. (jax) my guess would be a 4-6yr hog. probally a boar. rubbin to get the sap on his back to keep the bugs off him. that rub right there is old and i mean OLD. it takes sap a good while to hared into amber like that. they will also rub there cutters (tusk) on it to mark territory. looks to be a month old. so here is my quess. a 1 month old hog rub from a 4-6yr old hog. probally a bor. sows do it also.
I agree w, tailgate used to see the same signs in the green swamp west of disney world bout 12 miles out. also in the pine flats a little further out. Bug repellant? I guess, pig lice are huge and armored. Ive seen pigs so covered on their backs it looks like scales.
the elusive obama stands to tall to make that rub and doesn't have the strength.now if you look closely you will see no teeth marks which is a dead give away that their is a wild bwany fwank on the loose! men watch your back sides!!
Chupacabra rub man! No, lol. It's similar to a buck rub... but wrong... not many hunters on here, lol. Bucks rub their velvet in the spring ... this rub is recent - October 09. This is most likely a razor back rub, as it is only abt 18 inches off the ground (abt shoulder height). Too bad you couldn't close up on the ground scrapes or see if there were any hair/fur in the bark... I vote razor back. Or badger... though I've never actually known them to do that?
It looks like the chupacabra lives around there! It more than likely was a hog due to the height of the rubbings and mud that was on the tree that i could see.
It is a buck(deer) rubbing on the tree, we have that here too, in fact on a scouting trip to day i found a small grove of sapplings and a few pines that had been rubbed in the last 2 days
I thinks its a Hog, because in another video I saw of yours you mentioned that deer do not like to rub their antlers on trees that have sap, and that tree looks like it has sap

Either a deer or a hog. Hogs love to rub up against trees, and they eventually get worn.
