Adult Protective Services many times will do this to place widows in custody of state so either the State or relative can sell their house for money. You be so sicken to hear what family members will do all for money.

The problem is that our governments are using the fear of what might happen as an excuse to create more laws, laws that rob us of our freedoms.

The problem with that, is that many of us see it happening and are moving to change it.

The first step to stop this kind of situation is to lose our fear of what might happen. This woman was most likely removed from her home for what might happen in the future ("for her safety" in other words)

If we lose our fear, we gain our freedom.

I'll definitely have to check that out! I have read 'Animal Farm' and that was a really good book...I saw a movie of Animal Farm too....it was a very thought-provoking book. I remember in class (I think high school) we had a pretty good debate on a lot of our discussions.

Good on you Jennyjoe. It is heartbreaking to see what they are doing to Eve. I'm sure there are others out there in this situation but Evelyn's case is the first I've seen. i agree with everything you said and feel the same way you do about this... i feel heartbroken and very angry. criminally, this is nothing less than kidnapping and theft... a Federal Offense punishable by life-imprisonment; morally, it is outrageous. the absolute height of disrespect and greed.

i'm afraid it is going to get much worse for a time until, collectively, we have had enough and no longer wait on 'the system' to correct itself.... it is in terminal decay and cannot. we must correct it

I work at an extended care centre, it's a lot worse than this video makes out to be. Just that because videos like Evelyn's aren't made, nobody realizes it and just goes about their daily life.

Oh I know it...I know. I've seen it first-hand. Granted I'm not going through the same as Evelyn, but my mom and I lost the home we lived in my whole life (21 years for me, 30 something for her) due to the 'city' kicking us out. What it was for us was illegal mortgage flipping. It was on the news (not our story) but the same guy that did it to others, that did it to us. We then went on to lose a second house. It's horrible and so traumatic.

Also....when I worked at the care centers...I'd seen people come in that this kind of thing had happened to. Things like this people NEED to see. I always see it as, "This is someone's loved one....what would I do if this was MY loved one?" You know? Something needs to be done.

Eve is so mad, yet a lady. I couldn't do that in her shoes. APS is trying to slander me & her caregiver (15 yrs) as well.

That man is rough around the edges (was my b/f for 3 1/2 yrs, & engaged 1/2 of that) but he told me one lie too many, so I left him a yr ago. He's good to her & We are friends today. I know Eve loves him as a Nephew, and him back as Aunt.
