i dont think about the proper meaning of this song.

i just think of what it means to me

i dont know if any of you have read the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice

but theres a book within the chronicles called Memnoch The Devil

and in this, the lead character Lestat De Lioncourt goes through alot

and this song is just as if he had sang it from that point of view from that book

its pretty scary and all the lyrics (to me) seem extremely tailored to him

I personaly beleive It's about his unsureness about God.Mabey he's going through a tough time in his life and is questioning the existance of God. And now for doubting, he's afraid he's going to hell. But I do see how it could be talking about abortion

She's in a hotel, abortions used to be EXTREMELY SHAMEFUL before they were excepted so widely, and they would have quiet abortions in hotel rooms, alleys, and the like.
