the NEQ6 and the HEQ5 are both nice mounts i looked them up on a few website but both are a bit out of my price range at the moment, have been looking at the SKYWATCHER EXPLORER-200P with the EQ5 Deluxe Heavy-Duty Equatorial Mount, i found them on a website on your astronomyshed website , i was wondering would i be able to get similar results with relevent motors for the mount?
@TheRoach2010 I started off with my 200p on an EQ5, then added motors, then sold it for the NEQ6, it'll work fine but eventually you'll hear the call of an HEQ5 or an NEQ6 they're both a big jump up from EQ5
@astronomyshed yes already hearing that call lol but hopfully with the funds that i have at the moment am about half way to the 200p and eq5 so happy days.
just wanted to say hi, joined astronomy shed today, so far have watched most of your vid and enjoyed everyone of them, have had a scope for about 10 years but never used it the way it should be. i have an eq1 on my new scope and would like to used comp control with it, the prob i have is after watching your vids i rather like the eq5 or 6, money is a bit of a prob but not a big one which of of the mounts would you recomend and why?
@TheRoach2010 Hi, thanks for the comments, without doubt, if funds allow I would say NEQ6, it's just a lovely mount and at it's price point it's unbeatable, after that it would be HEQ5. The mount is the single most important link in the chain and a good one will give years of good solid service.
this looks great. So if I understand correctly. I can have an NEQ6 mount and scope in the back garden, with power to mount and camera, say maybe a astro video camera and connect to my PC in the nearby heated shed, via USB.
The scope GOTO etc can be controlled via EQmod in comfort. I can run a video feed into the shed and capture or just view. Maybe a USB focuser? This ould be great. Thanks so much for the videos
@waheex Oh yes, in fact, take a look at my other vids, namely the USB focuser one and also the remote telescope control one where I do can do all the above and be inside the house on my home PC.
i just bought the Neq-6 and a skywatcher 200 pds.. Im gonna get the EQMOD too and learn it. Seem like a good program if you know how to use it.. Nice vid by the way.
@astronomyshed ive watched yore other video called mount alignment, polarscopes and more. Is that very accurate? ive had a CPC 800 before so EQ-mounts are new to me. Or is driftmethod the way to go for astrophotography?
Listening to the music, I kept waiting for the "Canon" to blast out a laser beam destroying the Megrez Dearth Star in Ursa Major. Enjoy the new scope....
Hey, where can I buy a Go-To function for my 250px EQ6? Can this be used for a Mac as well, or is it only intended for the PC?

Hi,
Very useful information, thank you!
I am getting Sky-Watcher Skymax 127 on a SynScan Go-To mount. Would you happen to know whether there is a plug to connect the mount with Stellarium?
ParaglidingManiac 3 months ago
@ParaglidingManiac You can do it with the leads provided, using the handset as an interface.So yes, and all the stuff is provided with the synscan.

Can you answer me a question?--> You can put another clamp on the center of the other two? There is enought space to the screw?

@volvomannen79
Don't buy an EQMOD adapter, there's a LOT simpler way to do it, contact me through astronomyshed to find out how.

@volvomannen79
The clock method, which is what I use in the video you mention is very accurate, drift alignment is still best but clock method is VERY good.
