mines a 02 7.3, stage 2 injectors, 5 inch dp to 5 inch straight pipe, napa 6637 intake with the wicked wheel, dp tuner, 8 inch lift on 40's and i get about 8 mpg :( i used to get about 18 with stage 1 injectors but i guess thats the downfall to having more power is less mpg. and yes it is possible, you can google 40mpg 7.3. diesels are awesome and can do just about anything when tweaked just right.
@kowalm Hey man I cant exactly tell you, but it did get slightly better fuel milage then my dads 2004 toyota tundra, so Im guessing somewhere around or better then 20mpg. It was actually pretty good for as big a truck that it really is. I sold it sadly, bought a 2006 5.9 cummins reg. cab and get at least close to 30mpg now (easy 600km a tank in city) but I do miss the ford for highway driving it was so smooth with a ton of cruising power at higher speed. The dodge revs higher on the highway
@tksemipro dude my 97 7.3L with 6" lift and 35's gets 18 mpg around town and 22 on the highway. (Stock turbo and injectors, 3 1/2 inch downpipe, stacks and custom tune.
@samwiserich Dont believe that one bit i have a 00 F350 crewcab long bed with only 33's 5 inch turbo back straight pipe n a programmer n im lucky to get 15
@MattFoster10 keyword 00' f350, they are pigs on gas compared to a inline 6 cummins. I know because Ive owned both. Ive also got a 5" turbo back exhaust (straight no mufflers) a banks high ram intake manifold, afe stage 3 intake, and its a 6 spd truck reg. cab. I can net 26mpg on fuel eff.
@longboardguy ok its called fuel not gas? n mine is straight piped n we are talkin about a basiclly stock truck yah i put money into it like intake n stuff then yah id hope to get better mpg n well hell for a singlecab 6 speed id hope youd be gettin good fuel mileage if its not gettin decent then theres a probelem with the motor or just the driver
@TheMudrunner20 Thanks! It did sound crazy in real life lol everyone new it was my truck at college this winter when I started or showed up with it lol ;P

@longboardguy You're not getting 30mpg in any diesel.

@tksemipro you have completely underestimated the capabilities of a diesel engine.
