The seat should have not flown out like that, but this was a viloent crash.. the car lost the rear axle, and a wheel sheared off as the free falling axle hit the ground. (the wheel shouldn't have sheared off) Lots of stuff here is unexplaiined!

Does look like the car was not set up properly, lots of axle hop, and was all over the track, Renfrow did not back off. Some commentors call him an "idiot" ... admit it.. (how to stop being one) don't repeat the mistakes, you have a second chance!

Safety equipment is a good idea, but the question has to be asked, Would he still be alive if his seat belt didn't fail? In the end for the severity of the accident this was the best possible outcome.

Similar thing happened to me. Fifteen years ago I went head on with a semi truck. Had I been wearing the seat belt, I woulda been gone! It's weird how things happen. My seat belt didn't fail though, I simply wasn't wearing it.
