The fact that she didnt hit the high note at the end doesn't mean that she CAN'T hit... I'm pretty sure she's completly capable of hitting the E6, she just tried a different way that didnt work...
I wish they would have covered this more in the style of the original and as for the high note at the end it sounds amazing and atleast floor uses a decent technique that she doesnt need to pause before the high note like tarja does. I like both, but floor rises above tarja.

I think this is an awesome song but it's too bad that this has to lead to the inevitable Floor/Tarja comparison. I think Floor, in general, is the best there is. Tarja has a beautiful voice but Floor is so much more versatile. Tarja just can't pull off the heavier/more angry sound that Floor does with ease. Floor just moves so smoothly between sweet and dark.

Uhm, Tarja has a darker timbre, and is rather a dramatic soprano which you can clearly hear particularly on the first NW albums. Floor sounds absolutely lyrical, though the sound isn't clear. There's no point in comparing different types of voices, I think.
Anyway, this is not an opera aria, this is a musical piece that calls for classical training. And singing a couple of arias does not make someone an opera singer. Playing roles in theaters and opera houses, now that does.

This isn't a cover from nightwish version! this is the original partiture (partitura), Nightwish do the electric guitars but the Christine line voice is the same at the partiture.
i wrote andrew lloyd webber as the original composer (as you can see) and nightwish also because i know they used the nightwish version for the orchestration.
Russell Allen did a great job. Floor not so much. I think this song doesn't suits her, but maybe if she practice more on this tune, she could do a better performance.
I think you're jealous because EVERYONE knows and agrees that Tarja is the metal goddess. She's beautiful, talented, charismatic and unique... while you, one the other hand, are only lame...

if you had common sense yes, its a cover from the nightwish version of TPOTP giving a twist with the vocalist 's style of this two singers, not copy. btw the song doesn't suit for any of this singers Floor, nor Tarja so get over it and do some research about music/vocals, then you'll find out who's "failing". And there is not goddess in metal but Doro and she's not a goodess, is a Warrior.

@TheThrashMaster it's actually a very common name here in the netherlands, where we speak Dutch, and it doesn't have that meaning. but for her as an internationally famous singer it really does suck pretty hard :P

Personally, I think Tarja sings this song with more power and emotions... I was kind of expecting Floor to do better than Tarja, but she still performed beautifully ♥

This bothers me constantly. Floor would have made Nightwish so much more than it is now. Or if they really wanted to completely move away from Tarja's style, they should have just had Marco sing all the time.

Floor is one of the bests voices in the metal scence, maybe the best after Tarja, and see Floor singing old Nightwish songs and new ones (because he has shown us lots of times that she can sing whatever she wants) would be something that i just can´t explain, just what Nightwish needs. cause what they really need is a singer to sing all (what Floor clearly is). an exelent interpretaion from Floor in this song, of course

Floor is lyrical soprano too. and the song isn0t witten for sarah, Webber writen this song for lyrical soprano, but Sarah decide sing this song and the song come to the max high note more than high E

This isn't a cover from nightwish version! this is the original partiture (partitura), Nightwish do the electric guitars but the Christine line voice is the same at the partiture.

i wrote andrew lloyd webber as the original composer (as you can see) and nightwish also because i know they used the nightwish version for the orchestration.

Russell Allen did a great job. Floor not so much. I think this song doesn't suits her, but maybe if she practice more on this tune, she could do a better performance.

You know what's fail? Tarja doing a solo album when she just focus in her singing not in the music.
if you had common sense yes, its a cover from the nightwish version of TPOTP giving a twist with the vocalist 's style of this two singers, not copy. btw the song doesn't suit for any of this singers Floor, nor Tarja so get over it and do some research about music/vocals, then you'll find out who's "failing". And there is not goddess in metal but Doro and she's not a goodess, is a Warrior.

hm i disagree, floor would be able to do it but its not how floor is, i dont think she'd be happy in nw. she wants true heavy metal. look at how AF was, she sung opera here and there but mostly a powerfull rockvoice. also 1 thing she let go about her new band "revemp" was that, I quote, it was gonna be very heave and very metal. she belongs in a band more like AF, not nightwish.

absolutely not. after forever is the kind o music where floor's heart lies, she's said it housans of times and in her new band she's going to continue the style of after forever. her music has much more power then nightwish. anette is exatly what nightwish needs right now, nighis coudve chosen an operavoice if they wanted to but the road inmusic tey waned to go befited anette olzon. ifanette is the kind of voice nightwish wants, then floor doesnt belong there:P

so even though whole nightwish sais themselves that they listened to all the thousands auditions and from the beginning they took anette's audition as comparisson cause she was exactly what they were looking for and eventually also chose her, we are supposed to say they're lying cause you say so?:P. or is there actually some proof to the fact this isnt what they want:P

It seemed like a good decision in the beginning to get Anette, but now when they realize her attitude is worse than Tarja's they regret it....however they have to stick with her until they find a replacement....which will not be an easy job at all....

Aprilrain89---do not wait for Tuomas to come up and spell it for you....when that will happen they will already have a replacement for Anette....you have to analyze body language, facial expressions, tone of voice and other subtle stuff like that....add to that the experience of meeting Nightwish in person-----add to that the fact that they didn't play anything off their FIRST THREE ALBUMS on their last American tour...watch Annete talking about her solo album....etc etc....

I never denied I don't like Anette and it is my right not to like her....I used to hate her, but now I care less and less about Nightwish.....I think Tarja took the lead and is growing....bottom line: firing Tarja was a necessary mistake on their behalf....:)
