@mandoleene a peripheral ported rotary IS a race engine, peripheral porting is designed for maximum power but loses alot of driveability and engine life, hence why not many people have PP road cars.

@fd3sfan pp have more relieability in my opinion there are no holes in the plates just 2 in each housing the P port and the exsaust port,meaning only the apex seals cross a hole(the p port and the exsuast port) which is just like every other rotary except its just the exsaust port.peripheral ports have less ports=more reliableatily.i own a 13bpp and i drive it on the street and it leagle apart from thre noise it makes.vids on my page if any 1 is intrested

@mazdakm75 You have a good point there mate, I havn't thought of it that way before or looked into it too much but you are probably right. I am still sticking with my point that they aren't the most driveable as a street car as they are built for high hp at high rpm with not alot down low which I'm sure you will know. Bet yours is a hell of a lot of fun though bro. I wouldn't mind a ported n/a rota if i sold my FD.

Love the 20b, even though they suck on gas, they are amazing that they whipe v8's with such simple components, no camshafts, no pistons, or rods, just a crank, and rotors

@purpleGoAhead Probably the reason why it's hard to beat is, if you didn't know, the e-shaft spins 3 times for every one rotor rotation, but every rotor rotation completes 3 combustion processes. A normal combustion engine has to wait every 4 strokes to get a combustion meaning for faster response it needs lighter parts, more air and fuel, and other tweaking. So I think the reason why rotary has such quick response is the fact that each rotor is producing power each time the crank spins once.
