wow...how he has changed. both his appearance and his voice. If I hadn't looked at the video I would have sworn I was listening to Neil Diamond. His now very much like him and sound eerily like him...not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Though after listening to this twice...he does sound more like a cross between Neil Diamond and Geoff Tate (from Queensryche).

Bauhaus had broken up before my time, so I never really got into them, as a group, but Peter Murphy continued his solo work after that point, and when my friend introduced me to his music, I completely fell in love with his voice and his lyrics. I'm glad he's still performing today, and I'm really looking forward to his new album!

Can't wait for PM's show tonight at the Mayan in downtown LA. My friend Jay sent me a text saying he had bought tickets to take me for my birthday. :) Last time I saw Bauhaus at hte Palladium, we made it up to the front against the stage and at some point in the show Jay jumped up and grabbed a towel Peter Murphy had wrapped around his head, right off of his head! Amazingly Peter thought it was awesome. It was an intense show and the crowd wasout of control. It was amazing.

I admit to have been taken aback when he started the "mahh, mahh, mahh, maaaaah" part, but it worked. I've been a Peter Murphy fan since..well, since a young kid and still have most of their Beggars Banquet pressings on vinyl (and their first on the 4AD label). Murphy's solo work has always been more to my liking, and his voice seems to get better with time.
