Amnesia builds tension early on. It's not really shockingly scary until you get some motion going a bit into the game. Then it could cause heart attacks.

Deadspace is all guns blazing right at the start. It's horrifying then, for the first 10 minutes. After that, the monsters are all quantified, you know the dangers and your capabilities. How is it horror when you can saw everything up into little bits? That's not scary.

Hate to say it, but I kind of agree with Aakizer. This game was kind of creepy at first but it is taking waaaay too long for any kind of threat to actually show up. The thing pounding on the door got me going for a second but it never actually came out. It's not fun to watch a dude play a "scary game" and he just sits in the corner more than half the time. I wanna see some monsters! They did it so well with Penumbra, why would they change it?
