  • Does anyone question the child of a physician not wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle?

One fall is all it takes...

  • IDIOTS.

  • that school sucks. Go BAYLOR!

  • oh man! sylvester is so damn HOT!

  • I know where I want to go to Medical School:) Great School!

  • i am white

  • I'm sure they're too busy, but I hope to see another video on how they're doing! :)

  • nice video!! reminded me of my 4 yrs !!

  • Good video, even with the religious propaganda...

  • @Cubanuel i think this is a religious school idiot. And it is also a private school. Take your liberal ideas elsewhere.

  • 13:55 EXAM BEARD!

  • I start med school in August and this video is awesome. However, I am a bit frightened of the volume of material med students have to learn!

  • every time i hear god i just fast forward by 5 seconds

  • @Micael326 Your limited size brain also missed the main point of my original comment. I DONT CARE WHAT RELIGION IF ANY YOU ARE, BUT TO CRITICIZE THE VIDEO OR THE SCHOOL FOR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS IS IDIOTIC. whatever one chooses to believe is not the issue here, you being a moron is.

  • Im Muslim and i enjoyed every second of this video and can only work hard now so one day i will be like them!

  • It's sad how some of the people that commented on this video can't be respectful that LLU is a Christian university and the people in this documentary are Christians.

  • oh look another god and jesus freaks.........

  • just dream one day

  • just dream

  • I love this film. Anyone have more to suggest similar to this? It definitely gave me a sense of excitement about what expectations to have after hardwork.

  • God bless this documentary, its helped me alot understand how med school would be like when i apply to one, since im only in the 11th grade i have high hopes for it

  • I see why your so offended by religion Ipikop... its because your Swiss. Well LLU is in the US, where not everyone is an atheist.

  • @renascut7 Wow, way to fill the stereotype right down to the period. Did you also know that nearly 50% of all religious americans believe that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old?

Then again, xenophobia coming from a religious American should not be so surprising.

    Pathetic. Expected. Futile. :)

  • @renascut7 P.S. I have colleagues who attended LLU, and are Atheist. Does that piss you off?

  • @Michael326 im not religious but i must say you sound like a right dickhead :L...

  • @mrkosilathi Remember that scene from Hancock when he saves Ray from a passing train by simply stopping it with his bare hands? Remember when everybody is yelling at him because he simply did not lift his car up? And, finally, remember when he's just smiling and nodding his head basically letting them take swings at him because they're insects compared to him and cannot possibly understand how he thinks?

    That's me right now. :)

  • @Michael326 yes i do remember all them scenes and second of all i dont think thats you at all lol, i stick with my first judgement. Sorry.

  • @mrkosilathi *yawn*

Keep raging. Though I have to remind you that it takes somebody with enormous intelligence to get through my skin.

You haven't even so much as tickled me.

    Keep going. :)

  • @Michael326 yea....because im obviously raging...Einstein...>.>...''enormous intelligence'' hahaha my fucking ass.

  • @Michael326 sorry but your just another youtube troll thinking hes clever. Get a life.

  • @mrkosilathi Keep going. :)

  • @Michael326 no. :D

  • @mrkosilathi You just did.

    Keep going.

  • @Michael326 k...

  • @mrkosilathi Resignation accepted. Thank you for forfeiting.

  • @Michael326 will you shutup...jeez -_-...

  • @mrkosilathi Actually, since you just resigned, I just won the game.

But it helps your ego to pretend I haven't.

    Your resignation is fully accepted.

  • @Michael326 there was no game you fucking idiot. Just shutup....god...nobody cares

  • How do the religious aspects ruin the video??? Your getting an inside look into medical school and make no mistake, LLU is on par with any given SOM in the country. They take the same boards and have students that match into highly competitive and prestigious residency programs.

  • doesn't med school students have a life beyond studying???

  • @demidimelady no

  • Aha scared for med school!

  • Comment removed

  • I have to agree with ipkop!!!

  • the little boy ethan looks so cute ;D

  • before sin after sin..that was cute

  • watching this makes me so depressed..and I'm only a senior in high school.

  • NO kids before I'm done though. . . looks tough.

  • WOW! S insightful! Looks tough but with hard work, I will make it! Congrats to EVERYONE who's gone through med school and gotten matches!

  • proud to be a medical student

  • Loved this video ! So well done, and inspiring. At 42 yoa and an Army Combat Medic, I've found my second calling. Can't say enough about Loma Linda's time, effort and thought that went into this video. You guys kept God in it, and he is the great Physician. Eternal thanks!

  • Fantastic. I'm a junior in highschool, spent 8 hours volunteering at Barnes Jewish Hospital shadowing doctors and helping them with patients.. Took my ACT early, graduating early, hopefully going to saint Louis university, and then hopefully fulfilling my dreams and passions and will hopefully get accepted into SLU medical school!

  • God brought me to this video

  • You only do 4 years to become a doctor?

  • @peacefuljow 4 years undergrad,4 years medical school, and usually 3 to 4 years of residency.

  • 1 person didn't make it to med school

  • @arafiq29 Those are the best type of people lol

  • Before I continue with this I want to say thank you. I have been searching for medical students routines to get a feel what to expect and I just really want to be a doctor I have always wanted to be a doctor some days I say maybe not but I know I will become 1 and this this movie that you have done is going to be so helpful it wraps it up. Yea I have only seen 07:32 of this but I still thank u for this because its going to help me even though this is my 1st yr supposed to be 2nd yr of college

  • @Ipikop Its a religious school. What do you expect.

  • @Ipikop What did you expect? It a religious school. Thats like going to a movie theater and being shocked when you see a movie being played. Stop being ignorant.

  • @MizzyTheQueen Nothing in the video title hinted that it would be a Christian medical school, so I was caught unaware.

  • @Ipikop You should have known Loma Linda is religious and a Christian School. Go back in your hole . Don't be ignorant, do research, don't "assume". A logical person would have though "why are they talking about God in this video? oh, let me GOOGLE THAT"...let me use my BRAIN.......& Make your own video if you're so against anything other than athiest. Ya... Thats what i thought. Thanks and BYE. Dont bother replying ...unless you have NOTHING to do except argue over a computer screen :-)

  • @hellokittydimaggio You're illogical. I can see that. :D

Read my conversation with renascut, take a few deep breaths, maybe take a walk outside, and think things through a little bit.

When you get back, please inform me of the means you plan to use in order to kill yourself. Trust me, the answer to this is important. :)

  • @MizzyTheQueen I only see ignorance stemming from your inflammatory comment, not his.

  • @Ipikop what religious slant , all they said was god,

  • @Ipikop It makes it better!

  • @Ipikop Haha yes, because religious "slant" has definitely made aspiring doctors worse... Take Dr. Ben Carson for example, he was an SDA during med school and he turned out to be an awful doctor, I mean pretty much anyone could separate conjoined twins, especially those with completely fused heads!

  • I'm 3 weeks away from the end of 1st year barrier exam in medical school and am starting to burn out a little bit, but this video perked me up and really put things in perspective for me. Thank you thank you for providing that extra bit of inspiration to get me over the line.

  • This more about God than med school.

  • I thank God for them and i can't wait to see me becoming a Physician in the name of Jesus Christ

  • @pierre9jean, Amen

  • I must be one of the youngest people to comment, cuz im 14:P

But, I really want to enter a medical school and become a doctor.

    Amazing Video :)

  • Thank you very much for this informative video. :D

  • Hello everyone. I can't believe that 35 minutes has past. I really enjoyed the video and I was smiling all the time. It gave me huge inspiration. I'd like to thank you all of you students who were describe the feelings. Especially the married couple!

  • thanks for this video.

  • im in college now and this gave me more motivation to go to medical school:)

  • oh and the class she is in was told that you get one chance to socialize once every five months

  • Dear god medical school in Great Britain is so different, my tutor who started yesterday told me that in a class of one-hundred and fifty only THREE students are white British

  • GREAT video. I'm a 4th year and I've been going back thinking about the past 3 years of medical school. It's amazing to see the growth and change you go through in medical school from 1st year orientation to Match Day and graduation. This video is very very accurate describing each year of med school.

  • I just found out last month that I passed Australias version of the MCAT which is the UMAT. :)

  • That's it im ganna pass the MCAT!

  • @AlanDavay

    No way! -_-

  • The guy at 11.12 has a really cute accent / voice. awww!

  • They shouldn't bring religion in like that...

They aren't going to encounter everyone of the same religious beliefs

  • @AlanDavay you are not forced to believe them. this documentary shows them, and they choose to show their faith. it has nothing to do with what you want to do. :)

  • @IvanTheHealer Yeah, that's very true! I wished I had watched the whole thing before I posted, because for some reason, I thought that clients had to be religious to be treated. Out of curiosity, how do people interwine medicine and religion together? It has always sort of baffled me when people endorse science AND religion simultaneously... because so many people see bad things happen in medical school / nursing school...where is God providing protection, you know what I mean?

  • @AlanDavay hmm...its interesting that you see it that way. most of the time (all the time) medical school only spurs excitement for the faithful about how God is amazing and created such a complex, extraordinary system.

it in no way pushes them to doubt their faith. One billion people starve for months without food/water, millions of children. you can ask, what is God doing then? there is an answer.

  • @IvanTheHealer Where is the answer? Nobody has given me an answer yet, for many of my christian friends believe strongly in god. Which is fine... but all the time, I am thinking... where is god to protect those in need against the corrupt people or things in the world? Yes people do bad things and the innocent get hurt, but where is god to prevent such situations? We could go on and on about religion. All the religious people I chat with, I still can't orientate the logic of God.

  • @AlanDavay God protects those who believe and serve him. he most certainty does not protect other people as much as he does those who are faithful to him. Why should he? But the protection of God is everywhere. if you go to medical school, you will be amazed how we survive, some parts of our body are so fragile, in a blink of an eye we can die if a couple of molecules get to the wrong place. God is not obligated to shield everyone from all bad things. people make decisions, they have free will.

  • Why did God not protect Japan from the earthquake? there is not a single christian church in the entire nation....

  • @IvanTheHealer Please dont be stupid! You make christians look dumb.

  • @emopuppy123456789 explain plz

  • @IvanTheHealer If God was to have punished japan he would not be a just god. God is pure, good and understanding he would not take away life just because it did not belive in him. He loves us to much and know we can change. By saying God punished japan you make god look mean and like a tyrant.

  • .its not all about rainbows and happiness. "God is pure, good and understanding." he is also JUST, and wants people to believe in Jesus to be saved. God didnt cause the earthquake, he lifted his protection that prevents bad things from happening. God speaks to nations through problems, like he did throughout the bible. you see, God doesn't take away life, he removes protection. Like he removed protection from the children of Job and his estate, everything got destroyed and all the children died

  • @IvanTheHealer In the bible it say he does not do any of that.

  • @AlanDavay but if you really really want to know, you should read the bible, like one part of it first, like Matthew. start with the new testament and finish with the old testament. if you have time try it, it might help you orientate the logic of God.

  • @AlanDavay Whatever we know of the God of the Scriptures (the Bible) is revealed in the Bible. the Bible truly is a very logical book consisting of pretty much a story of humanity and God's relationship to manking and how mankind has responded to their creator over thousands of the years, it also depicts the rise and fall of empires.

Christianity isn't merely a system of thinking but a way to explain life. everything in the universe isnt made randomly with purpose.

  • @AlanDavay We believe that God made us with a purpose - to be fruitful, multiply, worship Him, and tell others of this. however as much as we may believe that there isn't a tangible way to prove that God exists except through reasoning arguments, and comparing what the Bible says with what is happening in the world. Belief in the God of the Bible or any religion requires faith. (Belief in evolution requires faith too since it takes leaps and bounds to try and explain the origin of life)

  • Damn he laughs at the worst jokes i can tell my social life will get hurt.

  • wow...I would love to study here lol...In South Africa, you have 6 years at school, then 2 years internship and then 2 years comm serve (community service)!...toat of 10 years and I'm in 2nd year! Long way to go! lol:) I'll graduate at 23 though...YAY! So I'll be a doctor by 23!

  • Do the medical school shelter them houses?

  • 2:40, is he suggesting that pathological processes in vivo are secondary to "sin"? When faith and science become entangled, silly statements like that aren't too far off.

  • This was really the motivation I needed.

  • I really respect Loma Linda University, and have huge respect for the students! If I were going to be a doctor, that is where I would want to go!

  • I just turned 18 and will start medical school in 3 weeks. I live in England so the experience will not be identical but this video has given me a better idea of what to expect, in 5 years time i will graduate as a doctor and there will be a lot I need to learn and experience. I hope to be able to look back and know it was all worth it and to make a real difference.

  • @cookieandcream1 wait in england you don't need pre med classes?

  • @TheCoffeeNut711 No, you sit the UKCAT and apply to university for medicine (which in england is 5 years) and then you have two foundation years as a junior doctor. I am not sure what age you graduate in america but here it will be 23 for me. I think it must work out similar in america??

  • @cookieandcream1 um no not even close. closest age to start med school is 22. 4 years of med, 1-7 years of residency depending on specialty and 2-3 years on THAT SPEACIALTY. oh yeah thats the US

  • @TheCoffeeNut711 wow i guess that is different but i was not including residency and specialty training in the 5 years that will be extra even in the uk haha

  • Wow, this is truly inspirational

  • omg it is not this hard

  • This is the best "pre-med/med" video out there...by far.

  • I love these kind of videos, it gives you a real look of what med school is like, most videos on youtube is just acting and playing around am happy to see what it is really like!

  • This video is a inspiration to me, when i feel like giving up my dreams of being a doctor, i will just come back to this video and watch it!! yess medical school is hard but nothing in life is easy, just know that it will be worth it at the end. By the way i am 17 years old and this is my dream career :)

  • @thairtheiabat- What do you mean?

  • believe me.

    its not that beautiful.

    its a long life suffering.

  • This is truly an inspiration! I am 17 years old and I am going into my junior year in a few days, and I am realizing that I truly want to be a doctor. Im taking Ap bio and Physics this year! I hope that I can make it! Thanks so much for this video!

  • @pinktallgirl94 i wanna do the same thing :) but im a sophomore :|

  • everybody is saying medical school is hard, well thats the way it is. if you cant take the heat, get out of the kitchen. : )

  • also what is with all the religous attributions to passing... im pretty sure life just comes as it goes but thats just my opinion :)

  • @musty129 It's a Christian school, so of course there will be religious themes in it.

  • watching this sorta stuff makes me worried that im a 4th year medical student.. years 1-3 i partied, and breakdanced much more than i ever even remotley went near a book :S not quite so sure how i passed lol

  • @musty129 Where are you going to med school??

  • After some minor setbacks, a late start in pre-med, a slump in determination...and this great documentary, i'm gonna make it

  • @Nyakwamba u go babii boi

  • @TickleMehNancy thanks :-)

  • is it just me or does it say class of 2013?

  • @marshmallowFREAK21 Yes there was one student from the class of 2013 in this video.

  • OMG this is amazing!!!! I am even more focused now because of this video. Thank you so much for posting this ;)

  • GREATTTT video!!!!

  • that does it, i am killing this mcat

  • @michaelchukwu22 Don't kid yourself. It is only one of many many many many more tests that you'll have to take in a lifetime of learning. Good luck!

  • @josedelao91 thanks very much. i will keep you posted

  • Thank you for the video!

  • Great video I am going to be taking the mcat july the 29. I feel excited and nervous at the same time but I worked hard and I know god is on my side
