Man I'm still in the process of watching the video, but wow! First thing first, congratulations to you good sir! You're actually tracking a performance car that's MEANT to be tracked! Rather than driving it around and being afraid that it'll break down from calm daily driving.
I almost feel as if "M" cars WILL break down if they're not driven hard lol
Was that the GTR that was on the side of the road at around 5:50?? Anyway, great video, and great angle with the go pro. Post more please.
Thanks for posting. The GTR is definitely fast and a thrill to drive even though Nashville isn't necessarily the best track for it. Glad you were able to come to our event too. Hopefully we'll see you again soon. You can see more videos of this GTR at my YouTube account.

Wow that red Datsun 240/260z sounds incredible and is frighteningly quick! Sounds N/A too, surprising considering all everyone does to those is swap in turbo'd L28's or RB's!
But's all about the exit speed of the preceding corner that determines your speed down the straight ... of course the GTR can really get all of it's power down! At track days we often embarrass much faster cars because we're actually on the limit while they're just tooling around in effect. My gal passed a Ford GT on the banking of the CA Speedway banking in her 125 hp Miata. Obviously the Ford GT is faster but not if the fellow isn't going to put his foot into it!
But you had just gotten on to the track 30 seconds earlier right, so you were still warning up and hadn't come out of the corner before you got passed at "real" speed

Jalopnik is bad, all they do is write terrible commentary and repost videos from others.

@makofoto Based on my shift to 4th, I was moving at my "full speed" for that section of the course..

You may want to look into properly adjusting your mirrors.

the thing about the GTR is that you dont have to have any skill to drive it.

I met the guy that drives that green e36 at the last Mustang meet down there. He's a nice guy.

How fast were you going and how fast do you think the GTR was going? You weren't kidding about the standing still thing that car just blasted past.

@Mack786 I was tracking out full throttle in 3rd gear. I think I was going between 70-80 mph.
davidmoorerx7 4 months ago
@davidmoorerx7 80 mph is the M3 top speed in 3rd? only? and you point your arm outside with no effort...
saralicia74 4 months ago
@saralicia74 80mph is not the top speed in 3rd gear. I don't understand your point with not using effort to point.
davidmoorerx7 4 months ago
@saralicia74 Have you ever been on track before? I've pointed cars by at much faster speeds, without worry. *Sigh* internet experts, god bless em.

Why is your window open?
RobHimself86 4 months ago
@RobHimself86 At HPDEs (at least in TX) you use hand signals to manage traffic. Gotta have the window down to point people by.
