WOW is right ! Mickey could really show his stuff. The end of this one is an amazing showcase for his GutZY ROckIN' VOCALS! They were all terrific but Mickey seems to have sung 8 out of every 10 of their numbers and THIS IS WHY ! ! REAL COOL!
20 years after original and they still nailed it. I enjoyed it. Saw them in Vegas around this time and it was a great show. Afterwards was classic though. We were studying a menu outside one of the hotel's restaurants, when suddenly the Monkees coming running towards us and escape into the restaurant next to it. My husband says, "I suppose you want to eat there now?". A hord of girls comes running after them like on tv....I declined. It was fun to watch though.
@celosemnexo and @Joeyland, what I heard Mike was not interested in touring with Peter, Micky, and Davy. He also does not to mention anything about his days with The Monkees.
@bubblebear83 Mike Nesmith's absence is a shame. He was the reserved one. He is where he is today because of the original fame from THE MONKEES. Never forget where you came from. The energetic & passionate 3 are in this vid. Long life to them. xo
Too "80's"ish. The took a great song and made it into glamour rock. C'mon Really? The original version still the best. Disappointed but still like the Monkees.
@Joeyland Mike's kind of a hermit. He only pops out occasionally. He performed with them for a few shows back in the mid 90s when they did a tv special and recorded a new album. He performed with them for a short run in Britain at the start of that album's tour. He simply doesn't like touring. Micky too has said that he hates touring (the long drives, staying at various hotels, being away from friends/family), but that the 2 hours actually onstage is his favorite part so he toughs it out.
@elfhermie I feel the same way if I was on the road touring. My parents would miss me a lot while I am not at home. I agree, I don't like long drives that much, paying for a hotel room for a night, and being away from people especially our friends. We do miss our family if we were touring.
@Joeyland Mike would never appear with them after they broke up the first time, thought himself too good to do that, he did some stuff on his own that I did not like.
