  • damit why why have you taken so long..you were the best! your explanations are so simple exact and precise to the point of the technique! I hope your dvd gets the attention it should. you probably don't remember me,,I been doing judo for 40 years and I started at shiina's japan judo in Brooklyn. Al lopez

  • You are a stunningly good teacher.

    Literally: stunning.

You break down Judo so well it's crazy.

  • I am going to show this move to the other students in my judo class at college. We need to teach a move to the other students, so thank you for the example, it was easy to understand and I feel like I won't have any difficulty to execute it from now on.

  • im one more new judoka from greece, excellent lesson, thank you!!

  • I did some judo when I was young and I regret I didn't have a real sensei....

  • You are one of the best Senseis I have ever heard teaching a class. You are very clear and articulate, and much better at explaining things than my own Sensei.

  • Really like your videos, thanks for posting.

  • when you talk about using small and large hand circles (brilliant idea! btw) can you use a large circle but use a faster, more crisp sweep instead of a wide one?

  • @wtfasiankid8o8 , you can as long as the timing of your feet and hands are in in sync for proper execution of the throw.

  • @ptnippon alright I know its mostly luck and timing lol but i will try

    thank you!

  • muito bom!

  • You look like John Quinones and talk like him too LOL, Where's you academy at?

  • This is my favorite technique, I only did Judo for a year but this technique even works agains elephants...not literally please.

  • I have the honor of training with nogaki sensei and knowcthatbthis video of instruction to be his usual practice of describing perfectly why how and what technique is, a truly remarkable gentleman, if you ever get the opportunity to train with him, take it.

  • What a great sensei

  • GREAT TEACHER . CONGRATULATIONS !

  • excellent explanation on the ashi barai ! Thank you for the emphasis on the wheel like turning with the arms.

  • lol this guy owns.great stuff. A+

  • It's one of those basic techniques every judoka should know. You can use it to distract the opponent & prepare another throw so it's great you guys get a wonderful instruction like this.

Tbh I love the version when you step to the left and drag your opponent around you in a quarter circle.

  • si no explicarlo entonces nadie sabe lo qoe debe hacer

  • El Sensei tiene todo la rason baboso, se debe que explicar, porque asi nunca prenden vien tontin.

Good Job Sensei thats how you tell Idiots like him.

Very good didn't know the circular body movement, probably reason i never had any success in it.

    Thanks! Amazing!

  • Another great video. Thank you for taking the time to upload this.

  • You are a great teacher! thanks for the build up for the throw aswell!

  • I'm fairly new to judo and I have a basic question: is De Ashi Barai the same thing as De Ashi Harai?

  • Yes, when most Japanese words that start with an "H" have another word preceding it, the "H" is usually is pronounce as a "B".

  • Thank you!

  • @ptnippon yes and r as h

  • great video!!

  • Excellent instruction.

I love de-ashi-harai, especially because it can be used on either side, no matter which foot your opponent leads.

  • "if you feel zero resistance, you're timing is perfect."

brilliant instruction. please keep uploading judo videos. your videos are very helpful. thank u very much.

    more power to u!

  • Great instruction on a difficult throw. Love the circle analogy.
