@whitegagstafailtrain: While your entire argument is flawed: The American forces hardly saw any combat in World War I and so a few officers would have had actual battle experience in World War II or have the Americans fought any major war in the mean time? While the Germans had full three years of intensive fighting in 1942; and if your failure in the war of 1812 is not a warning to you soon you will see how little that has changed during the last 200 years.

@whitegagstafailtrain: History is for learning and comparison and if one country tends to win its major wars by being part of superior coalitions one can be sure that this country will be lost, when it has to fight alone; this happened to England after 1940 when they were alone in Europe, since France was defeated, Italy allied with Germany and Russia neutral; so they had to surrender their fancy global empire to the Americans; so I think the Chinese victory over the USA is assured.

@Evildragonfirez: China has prevailed already and does from day to day more and more; because the dull-brained Americans have not realized the dangers of the rise of China to the global dominance ever since from 1990 to this very hour and still fail to do so, instead of trying to stop the rise of China they antagonize the Russian rump state and have forced it into a league with China against the USA already; and the military might of the USA will decay to dust like the Soviet-Russian did before.

@whitegagstafailtrain: Had the Germans crushed Russia and England surrendered their fleet to them the Americans would have made very poor proof of your large words; in the past even England could torch the very capital of the Americans while fighting a major war in Europe with France; and numbers count very little in warfare since the German troops would be battled steeled and commanded by superior generals, while the American forces where utterly green.

@whitegagstafailtrain: Besides Machiavelli warned in his famous book The Prince the governments from believing such vows: During peace time everyone swears to the state that he will die defending it but when war comes very few are willing to do so; and the political heart of any country is its government, even Rome could have been lost when the Senate and Citizens would have been evacuated in time, as was done when the Celts took it in 387 BC for example.

@whitegagstafailtrain: In World War II Germany was overwhelmed by the mere numeric superiority of their foes and of course of the bad military leadership of Hitler; had someone like Fredrick the Great marshalled the German forces in this war things would have been quite different and so they would have been still if Hitler had handed over the supreme command to his warlords; the American invasion in Normandy was only a success because Hitler moved the German reinforcements too far away.

@whitegagstafailtrain: As for those treaties I doubt that the Germans do care much about them, as a German historian said once: “A great nation does not surrender what it possesses except under the pressure of extreme necessity: all treaties making concessions are acknowledgments of such a necessity, not moral obligations. If every people justly reckons it a point of honour to tear to pieces by force of arms treaties that are disgraceful” – but the Germans can wait for the right time to act.
