i think there's definitely some jealousy and other issues, and believe me i don't think jodi and kevin's intentions are all pure, but what i do agree about it that for jon and kate, particularly kate i think, it just became all about the show and when you go from 8 episodes and kind of like a snapshot of their lives to a a 30 episode always filming type of deal, there's some other motives

I do agree with them to a point. It seems to me like the Gosselins do use the show to get stuff, but usually it goes back into their kids -taking them on trips and stuff. But the point is, the kids will forever have this surrounding them, they didnt have a choice. It seems to me that they do use it for the fame, especially now with Kate. I feel bad for the whole family, Jodi and Kevin included. I do not envy people in the spotlight. It can be fun, but it can have a very negative impact on your life be it immediate or later in life. Also, divorce affects so much more than just the divorcees, which makes it even harder for Kate and Jon because of the media being involved. In this case, everyone is losing. Prayers are with the Gosselins and extended family.

Yes Jodi and Kevin were ont he show but they wre on the show in the earlier seasons. The last 2 seasons is when the drama started. I actually agree 100% with what Jodie and Kevin had to say in this video. I was once and avid fan of the show, but I too have noticed the changes the show has made, where now things seem to be done for the purpose of ratings rather than to document the Gosselin's lives. This amount of exposure is not healthy for anyone, let alone children who are going through their parents being divorced.

You're right. Kate is very well-spoken and articulate, and because of that, it is very easy for her to manipulate a lot of people into thinking she's this certain kind of person. I'm not saying she's wrong on every count - she and Jon are both right and wrong in different ways, at different times. I just think that Kate wants to be in the limelight for the rest of her life, and she's paving the road now so she can stay there once the kids are grown. That's what she wants - the fame.
You know what scares me is that the worst case scenario for her might happen...the show gets cancelled and the kids haven't grown yet. Will she be the loving mother she plays herself to be in front of the camera or will the mask come off and reveal the wicked mother who now only realizes what she gotten herself into with having eight kids after the lights of fame have gone out. I would feel so sorry for the kids. But at least they have Jon. Jon has always been the sincere loving parent.
The fact of the matter is that Jon and Kate Plus 8 has had 5 successful seasons on the air with absolutely no drama. The choice they made, to have their children on television, is not hurtful in any way. They have been able to be home with their children, to be present in their lives and more importantly financially support them and provide a college education for every one of them. They wouldn't have been able to do this, or it would have been much much harder otherwise and probably would have
put more stress on the family and marriage anyways. The hurtful part of this, the part that might hurt the children, is that their own FAMILY has turned on them. Their own family and friends are the one putting nonsense out there and causing the drama that these kids will now see in later years to come. It is sickening. All I can say is Kate is a very very strong person and this kids are extremely lucky to have her and THAT is the truth. She has been the same person since day one, never changed.

They didn't start out exploiting the kids but thats what they are doing now. They are under contract to do 40 episodes a year, there are only 52 or 53 (sorry Im old and forget) weeks in a year which means the cameras are there much of the time. these parents are so into the money now that they are incapable of stepping back and see how this is affecting thier kids, I have not watched the show in awhile and I ask others to stop watching for these kids.
To some extent I agree that the show should stop and I can see how the show may have a negative impact on the kids lives. HOWEVER, this show has enabled them to experience things that they would otherwise have never been able to experience. Kate's Dressing better and buying a bigger house doesnt mean she is self absorbed or money crazy. She was a nurse... she clearly had ambition to have more and the show has now allowed that. She just wants to live comfortably and pay the bills.
ipineda, other famiies of multiples have managed to support thier children without exploiting them like this. Kates dressing better or even buying a bigger house really shouldn't enter into it, people have survived quite nicely in smaller houses. This family is going to be responsible for laws being enacted to protect children from being exploited for reality television.
I don't think those kids are unhappy as Jodie and Kev say. Kids tend to be honest about their feelings and the kids, despite the media attention, seem to be happy, normal kids. Plus, the cameras aren't around all the time and on every vacation. TLC only films certain events (play dates, and such) to make an episode out of, not their general every day lives. I think they're exaggerating.
As a side note, it's kinda cool that Jon/Kate and Jodie/Kevin have the same initials.

I do agree with them to a point. It seems to me like the Gosselins do use the show to get stuff, but usually it goes back into their kids -taking them on trips and stuff. But the point is, the kids will forever have this surrounding them, they didnt have a choice. It seems to me that they do use it for the fame, especially now with Kate. I think shows like this shouldnt happen because it does have a detrimental effect on the families if they dont know how to deal with it and stay grounded.

I feel bad for the whole family, Jodi and Kevin included. I do not envy people in the spotlight. It can be fun, but it can have a very negative impact on your life be it immediate or later in life. Also, divorce affects so much more than just the divorcees, which makes it even harder for Kate and Jon because of the media being involved. In this case, everyone is losing. Prayers are with the Gosselins and extended family.

I was once and avid fan of the show, but I too have noticed the changes the show has made, where now things seem to be done for the purpose of ratings rather than to document the Gosselin's lives. You're right. Kate is very well-spoken and articulate, and because of that, it is very easy for her to manipulate a lot of people into thinking she's this certain kind of person. I cannot understand how a very young child would know what a camera is if all those kids have even known has been having camera in their home? it is like having pets in the house...after a while you just get used to the pets, the toys, beds, bowls, etc.

ironically, they are now completely separated from their nieces and nephews as a result of coming out with these comments to the media. But in my opinion, they have one valid point-the kids are totally being exploited whether they know it or not

in the other interview kevin said he was upset that kate wouldnt allow them to be paid in a contract for the cameras being in their home. okay it was okay for the kids to be "commodities" if these two backstabbers were gettn in on it, but since they r not, they r gna hate on kate, while shes going through all of that. wut type of brother is he? and jodi is sooo jealouse u can se it in her ugly face

i think jodi probably pressured kevin into doing this because she was the one who was mostly jealous. everytime kevin is asked a question she jumps in and cutss him off. its pretty lame that they went on national tv to say this instead of talking to them or just repecting their decisions.

You just see this couple (the inlaws) for what they are. Theres a difference when you talk about being concerned and you say what your concerned about but not supposedly LEAKING what should have been personal information, like the fighting, what kate says, what jon says. They are so full of trash and r beyound all else PATHETIC. My husband n I have 5kids with another on the way if I had the opportunity 4 a means a show etc to provide 4 my family I so would do it!

These people can't be serious.
They are pointing out the fact the Jon and Kate are using their kids for money and stuff, which is true. But most of that money is going back to the kids in order to give them things like a big house and a good education.
Jodi and Kevin are also using the children for money, they get paid for coming on shows like this. But they are giving nothing back to the kids.

She didn't seem too worried about the exploitation of the kids when she went to the Oprah show that obviously helped promote the show or any other episode that she seemed happy to appear in...
I don't think it's entirely horrid that jon and kate do this show. They have 8 kids 2 provide for for one thing. And now they get a living for what being on camera 8-10ish hrs a wk for a TV show instead of Kate n jon working. They get their $ and the kids can spend time with their parents...

if they just stopped with the "happy family" bull for people's entertainment there lives would be so much better and these poor kids are growing up and the twins are like nine and well....dah..... they can tell what is going on and they understand what it means. this is just not the type of enviroment for kids to grow up in. it is hard enough to be nine years old, why make it worse by putting cameras in their faces 24/7?

They didn't start out exploiting the kids but thats what they are doing now. They are under contract to do 40 episodes a year, there are only 52 or 53 (sorry Im old and forget) weeks in a year which means the cameras are there much of the time. these parents are so into the money now that they are incapable of stepping back and see how this is affecting thier kids, I have not watched the show in awhile and I ask others to stop watching for these kids.

To some extent I agree that the show should stop and I can see how the show may have a negative impact on the kids lives. HOWEVER, this show has enabled them to experience things that they would otherwise have never been able to experience. Kate's Dressing better and buying a bigger house doesnt mean she is self absorbed or money crazy. She was a nurse... she clearly had ambition to have more and the show has now allowed that. She just wants to live comfortably and pay the bills.

ipineda, other famiies of multiples have managed to support thier children without exploiting them like this. Kates dressing better or even buying a bigger house really shouldn't enter into it, people have survived quite nicely in smaller houses. This family is going to be responsible for laws being enacted to protect children from being exploited for reality television.

I don't think those kids are unhappy as Jodie and Kev say. Kids tend to be honest about their feelings and the kids, despite the media attention, seem to be happy, normal kids. Plus, the cameras aren't around all the time and on every vacation. TLC only films certain events (play dates, and such) to make an episode out of, not their general every day lives. I think they're exaggerating.
As a side note, it's kinda cool that Jon/Kate and Jodie/Kevin have the same initials.

I think they SHOULD stop the show but I don't WANT them to I wanna see the kids grow up and see how they deal with the divorce and see if Hailey will come on the show...but if i could choose I would stop the show, but since kate is keeping it, im not complaining
I guess u could say i'm just a little torn. Oh and btw I am not anti kate or jon but if i had to choose i'd be anti jon cuz he cheated on kate
