@easilyamusedcinema Yea I really can't figure out why it was so quiet. None of my others had this problem, and I even tinkered with the sound in Audacity to (more or less) no effect. I don't know why it worked out that way, but most people say you can hear it alright if you put on headphones and crank it up.

@ttimothyp16 Yes, this video is rather quiet. In every video I make, I change something. This time I was fiddling with the levels and the range compression on the microphone, so that I wouldn't get a really annoying POP sound whenever the crayons hit the plastic box.

So while this video is one of the quietest I've made, I think the pop reduction worked well. I still have to play around with the settings so that it doesn't kill the volume on the rest of the video though. Still learning!

@Kennylpj Do you use an actual pop filter? If not, you might want to start using it. At least then you can retain the loudness of your whispering voice, but without all of the pops from the P's and B's.

@KwipperTheBear Yes. I do have one on my mic. The problem wasn't the popping from my speech, but from the things I was doing. Basically I have a very quiet environment where I'm whispering and barely making sounds with the crayons, but then I drop a handful of them into a plastic box. Comparatively, it was insanely loud.

Just in case you haven't worked something out yet, i'd try a high compression ratio, maybe 8:1 or something, a fairly loose threshold, maybe about -10db And make up gain to compensate? That should take down any loud sounds without bringing forward the background noise too much. Hope that helps! I really like your videos, but the noise youtube creates in my headphones (Noise cancelling, i can hear EVERYTHING) overpowers your voice :(
