Stockhausen's music proves that the human ear will accept anything, as so many other composers have proven. The human mind will always try to make sense out of chaos, randomness. This composition is pretty "mainstream" if you ask me. I love this composition!
@guitarphunk Too bad Stockhausen's work isn't random at all, he was one of the composers who demanded absolute control over all the performance aspects of his pieces... In the part, the performers are supposed to learn this by heart and perform in a dramatic sense on stage, all directions clearly written out in the score. Listen, there is sense :)
@ArtisticAtrocity if i give u a number like 5926, u wont get the sense of it, in fact u will try to make sense out of it, as guitarpunk notice it. but if i tell u that this number is a part of pi (3.1415926...) u will give that sense to it. and with this music is the same. I dont have the score to analyse it, and i didnt listen enough time this piece to remember the paterns in it...so to my is chaos and randomness, but it is evident that the more i listen to it the more it will make sense to me
@17231jls that's why the so called ''artists'' are ''incompris'' by society..... they are just a bunch of selfishness people who don't even understand that the ''sense'' given to music by people comes from their experiences, and culture. Not from the same ''sense'' that the composer gave to the music ( for that, one have had to live the same experiences than him) because music is not a language, there's no semantic's in it, no meaning, only frequency, timber and time, the rest comes from us
