  • Does anyone know about getting flash memory so i can add sounds to mine i was thinking maybe a compact flash type 1 instead of ordering an expensive mr- flash card

  • One mod really worth doing is removing the Floppy drive, & replacing it with a floppy->USB controller, which allows for using a common, ordinary flash drive in place of slow, unreliable, harder-to-find floppys. I found one online for $55+ shipping. I'm very glad i found that because my disk drive was showing signs of old age. Flash is the way to go. My MR76 will easily last another 14 years because i won't have to worry about bad floppy disks... no moving parts, & it loads & saves faster too.

  • Very nice keyboard for sure. I've been gigging with it for 14 years. I bought it new in 1996. My only gripe is the RAM. I don't know how you got 14 MB in yours...mine came with 215 kb (that it shares between the idea pad, which always runs ... a cool thing), & midifiles in the sequencer. If you're talking about sample (expansion) mem cards then yes, there are MB's of 'sounds', but you'll never load a midi larger than 210k successfully into this keyboard. Only thru remote midi will they play.

  • IT IS SO NICE TO KNOW THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS SAME KEYBOARD. (WHAT'S UP KIN FOLKS). I BROUGHT MY MR 76 IN JANUARY 1997. THERE ARE 2 REASONS I SETTLE ON THIS BOARD. # 1, I LOVE THE BASS SOUNDS, # 2, THE STRINGS SOUNDS ARE OUTSTANDING. I HAVE WRITTEN A MANY OF ORIGINAL SONGS USING THIS WORKSTATION. I ONLY HAVE ONE QUESTION ABOUT IT. WHO CAN YOU TAKE IT TO WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN? THE COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. SEND ME YOUR ANSWER ON FACEBOOK. ROGER COOK. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

  • @Super3259 I don't know who to send it to. I'm from Asia so shipping alone is gonna cost an arm and a leg so I guess I'll have to do with our "local" keyboard/synth experts if and when mine breaks down

  • tonally the best sounding board ever manufactured, I need a little help w/ it though. trying to sequence w/ mpc as master, can't seem to get MR76 to control and play back on multiple channels simultaneously.. when i go to track 2, track 1 looses it's program (same problem w/ emu mp7) this is easily done on my asr, kurzweil, etc., but can't seem to get the MR76 to cooperate when not the master sequencer (limiting me to 1 sound from MR per seq.) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! thnx

  • This synthesiser reminds me of the Ensoniq TS10 keyboard workstation which I used to have in the 1990s. I sold it in the early 2000s. I missed its user-friendly sequencer, which allowed an amateur like me to compose songs quickly and easily. I don't think I can compose songs as well on other sequencers in other keyboard workstations or on computer sequencers. Perhaps you might like to upload more videos on music composed on MR76 workstation to share with us in future. :)

  • I still use my good 'ol MR-76. Bought it in 1997. Still works great! Incredible sounds and sequencer. I use it more now as a MIDI controller and the weighted action works great with the newer piano sounds that are stored on my Laptop.

Two of the keys are squeaky, but with headphones on it doesn't matter.

It's a very sturdy keyboard. It's been banged around a lot and it's still holdin' together! It was an incredible investment for me and have had no negative comments at all.

  • @hockley91 Like you, I just don't have ANY negative comments about this keyboard!

  • I have that model! It is a wonderful keyboard. Haven't played it in years unfortunately. Definitely need to get back to it. Thanks for posting!

  • @johnnyjohnson I say get back to it asap! Yes, it's an old system but since it was really way ahead of it's time, it suddenly becomes "new!" I've had this for about a year but haven't really gotten the most out of it. I'm not really a keyboard player but because of it's ease of use and lovely sounds, I've been able to put out great demos which are actually of mastering quality already. Who needs those 2GB sampled pianos and strings? And for what I paid, I'd be crazy not to be ever so grateful!
