A normal 4-lane highway, which is what I-69 in Indiana will be--is fine IMHO, but a 1200-foot wide supercorridor is definitely overkill. I have to agree with you on that.

You're also correct about our energy mess being caused by the Chinese and the enviromaniacs who don't want use to drill or build new refineries here at home.

Regardless, there's no stopping I-69 now...Tennessee and Mississippi finished another section earlier this year, and I-69 signs will be up on Kentucky's parkways by the end of August.

If the enviromaniacs REALLY want something to scream about...take on China and India. American ecosystems are pristine in comparison to those cesspools.

I could care less about the enviormental aspects of it really. I'm all for developmen and cheap oil and things of that sort. I still maintain that we should try to expand our economy. However this is not about economics its about screwing the little man. Yeah he may get to work on it but he loses his house in the process dont seem fair

Well cheap oil is gone forever...again you can thank the Chinese for that since demand for oil has been decreasing as prices at the pump continue to climb.

For the folks losing their homes, the state is required by law to compensate them to buy a home of equal or greater value and expenses associated with moving.

Another important point is that there are already several highways already linking Canada and Mexico (I-5, I-15, I-35) and none have cause this economic disaster that many fear.

the reason oil has gone up is because the Chinese are buying it up whole sale as is other developing countries. But fact of the matter is we have oil in our own country that we could be pumping but the enviornmentalist wont let us due to the fact it hurts the wild life. I say we drill for it anyway to help ease our pain at the pump. However alot of people may not want to give up there homes for this road. Here in Texas it has been debated feverishly no one wants to give up there land

by the way, one thing the anti-i69 voice in the video says, it turns out, isn't true. "if the farmers band together and refuse to sell their land, it gives them more power to keep their land." it might get them more money for their land, but the use of eminent domain means that the state government can take the land anyway, by enforcing eviction with police. just wanted to clarify that.
