Just the sheer miles from America and Europe was a logistical nightmare and was prolly one of the few 2 nations that could actuallty fight a war across and entire ocean. American and Britian were in Europe mid 1943 and bombing Germany 1942. ROmmel stated the second Britian and America bombed Germany and 3rd front was opened with all the 88's and fighters and men to defend the skies.

If any of you ever watch that american guns show with REDJACKET I found it interesting that ALL class 3 machine gun lovers think the MG-42 is the becnhmark of ALL Machine-guns! If you didnt have one or had made one your really weren't in the CLUB! By the way if you have every looked at the MG0-42 the US M-60 the inside were almost the same except for the gas system. I find it interesting that GERMANY still use it basically chambered for NATO 7.62, and a turned down cyclic rate.

I kept waiting for him to pull out a Mg-42 but no.. The MP44 was brought over by his dad after WW2 It was a VISION! Little NAZI Eagles all over it. I took it apart and back together 100s of times.. Its really was in mint condition! It guts were almost identical to the insides as of a AK. HUM wonder why! BUT my only complaint was I thought the full auto Cyclic rate was way too low. Maybe half that of a AK full atuo or a m-16. BUT MAN! Now where is that MG-42

My dad has always collected military weapons and when I was younger I did as well. TOO COSTLY any more. AS a young kid I built Models all the time and Loved the MG -42 and the MP44 the first assault rifle. We went out to my Grammas Gravel pits and shot all weekend all the time! One day we took a banking buddy of his and he told me he had a surprise for me! When we got there he pulled out a mint condition MP44! I WET MY PANTS!!! Now I know why my dad had been hand loading all those 8mm KURTS rds
