Written by Ronald Blackwell, who had a family vocal group ("The Blackwells") in the late 50s-early 60s, with brother DeWayne. The brothers wrote "Ferris Wheel" (Everly Brothers). DeWayne wrote, or co-wrote, "Mr Blue (Fleetwoods, 1959), "Make My Day" (T.G.Sheppard, with Clint Eastwood, 1984), and in the early 90s "Friends In Low Places" (Garth Brooks), although Brooks's huge hit was not the first version.
