There was a point in the comics where sonic couldn't beat metal.

Metal had come back much more advanced then before and even captured tails and held him hostage so he could fight sonic. When they did fight sonic couldn't even touch metal, he had him beat in speed, skill, even his use of his environment was better. He only lost because he didn't want to kill sonic and saved tails, saying that he had finally proven he was better.

i think mario's actually better, even w/o power ups. he can hit metal harder than sonic and through out this series HAS hit metal more. Metal can predict sonic's moves and act accordingly (he was made to beat him after all), but mario is a wild card. His arsenal of moves is more ranged than sonic, making him unpredictable. This episode's main focus wuz the L-speed battle and mario can't move that fast, so he needed 2 go. Its not meant 2 make reg mario look weak, just 2 cut to the action.

Adding to the comment i made b4 sonic needed a scene to show just how good he is. A scene to show EXACTLY why metal needed to combine w/ all the other "metal" sonics to beat him. This is that scene. Don't get me wrong, in terms of fighting Mario is one tough opponent all his previous fights show that. This scene is to show how downright FIERCE an opponent Sonic can be.

the one disappointement, and im sure the only one alvin will ever give me is the fact tat mario has pretty much a natural fire ability already....case in point...ssb, melee and brawl.....oh and tat fact tat he doesnt mario...or at least hasnt let mario use his metal form which in technicailty is his "super" form cuz hes pretty much invincible.....starman is well...not a super form just a invincebility p-up...

The storyline is this: Mario and Luigi fight Bowser and MEecha Sonic with Chaos Emeralds. That plot can neither be epic, or dramatic. It's just a action flash with some funy jokes. And Besides, all the talking in this episode doesn't contribute to the main story, it's just some filler plot with some cool cameo appearences. The best way to shoot this who is with all action, just like episode 6. I didn't hate episode 7, but I thought it had room for improvement.

it seems like just because Alvin to a year and a half to release this, more people don't like it for some reason. What wrong with those people O_o I very rarely saw negative reviews on part 6 but now all of the sudden people are hatin on it. it's 1000 times better than most other sprite flashes... I think the story AND fights are awesome. I just think the dialog is too long sometimes. that's pretty much my only complaint
