@Evenwas616 Excuse me! what are you talking about?which Holocaust huh?about burning or WWII..? sorry, I'v no idea what you mean. because English ain't my primary language. if you talking about "the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act of 2004",and worry about me. you so kind and so fine.
@phk2imbrg28 Well, i just mean to say that Holocaust can't be thrown around as a common word for something being bad, you related two things that weren't close to each other by putting Holocaust in for a convenient match, but Holocaust isn't used that way is all i'm trying to say.
Blocking the streets, throwing rocks and bottles at law enforcement and refusing to disperse after being given a lawful order to do so is NOT a peaceful protest. It is considered disorderly conduct. Even for protests, there are certain rules that you must abide by. You cannot simply gather and shut down a city. That is why the police were assembled there. To restore order. No matter how righteous your cause may be you cannot disrupt the lives of citizens and business owners in that city.
RosettaStoned91 if you are talking about the pepper-spraying of protesters at UC Davis there is an excellent video on YouTube entitled 'UC Davis Pepper Spray - What Really Happened '. The police politely asked the protesters to move several times. When the protesters refused to move police arrested a few people to try and encourage the rest to leave.(message continues below)
(message continued)The protesters then surrounded police and said they would only let police 'leave' if the other protesters were released. That right there is kidnapping and extortion by the protesters. Again police warned the protesters numerous times they would be subject to the use of force if they did not move. Protesters refused to move and that is when they were pepper-sprayed.
@bones5616 If you look into it it was in retaliation and very subtle. Just look at other countries, the cops got violent and the people destroy them. We're being quite civil in my opinion with as much as the protesters have put up with from the cops.
@RossetaStoned91 Bull shit, you guys aren't dealing with anything, only 1% of the 99% is actually supporting this movement. You think you've had it with police? I think police have had it with you, breaking every law you can and calling it freedom of speech or assembly, just another excuse to protest.
@Evenwas616 You ned to quit directly attacking me cause Im not even in a place that has an Occupy movement. What laws are these people breaking exactly?I don't give a damn how 'tired'a police officer is they have no right to engage in violence they way they have done so. What about those kids on thier knees doing nothing? That officer just went down th line and sprayed them. These are just men in uniforms abusing thier power. They are humans like us and nothing makes them better than us.
@RossetaStoned91 You are not in a place that has an Occupy movement? Why did you use the word 'we'? Using the word 'we' would indicate you are one of the protesters present.
Police are not abusing their powers. You are abusing your right of free speech. Protesters are constantly trying to provoke police. Protesters are taunting, jeering and yelling at police. Taunting, jeering and yelling at police is not what I call a 'peaceful' protest.
@bones5616 So that makes it OK for the police to beat the hell out of innocent people and arrest them with no charges. You can see many accounts of these cops hurting people with no accounts of antagonizing. You can make as many excuses for them as you want but humans have a powerful tendency to use their power malicously on every level as proven by science and history. Just look at the Standford Prison Experiment. Once these people (or atleast some) put on a uniform they change.
@RossetaStoned91 Police aren't 'beating the hell' out of anyone. Police aren't arresting people with no charges. I haven't seen any accounts of 'police hurting people with no accounts of antagonizing'. What I have seen is police acting with incredible restraint towards people who are trying to provoke them. I am not making excuses for them. They aren't doing anything that needs to be excused.
@RossetaStoned91 Police aren't doing anything wrong. So your claim that putting on a uniform makes them behave differently is bogus. It is the protesters who are using their power violently and maliciously.
@bones5616 You're full of shit!!! Just take a look at the videos to the right!! How can you say these police aren't doing anything wrong?? How are the protestors being violent or malicous in any way??? There's video evidence of them pepper spraying protestors for no reason!! Wildly swinging batons, pulling people out of the crowd, arresting people without charges!! How can you defend these people? How can you be so blind to the reality of the situation?
@RossetaStoned91 How are protesters being violent and malicious? Throwing things at police during the January 28 protest is violent and malicious. On November 3rd protesters smashed windows, set fires and sprayed Oakland businesses with graffiti. Buildings that had windows smashed included a Men's Wearhouse store, a dental office and the headquarters of the police internal affairs division. Graffiti messages included phrases like 'kill cops'. How can YOU be so blind.
@RossetaStoned91 They are activating the power they are given as officers, there was not one time i have seen them abuse their power in the movement especially since every has a camera. The movement breaks: Assault, destruction of public property, trespassing, avoiding evictions, resisting arrest, assisting someone who is being arrested, not cooperating with a police officer's simple instructions, I could go on forever and i'm not one siding my opinion, this is what i see.
@Evenwas616 I don't know what powers you think they have but they have abused their power many times. If you can look at those videos and tell me that those cops were within reason then you are dillusional. Assaut? When? It's a peaceful protest and have done so! Destruction of Private property? Again when! They protest on public areas like the law allows. The people resist arrest because they're being arrested without charges! And they usually do comply with reasonable instruction
@RossetaStoned91 Do you think it's a good idea at all to resist arrest if you no idea what you're being arrested for? people get charged for that as a crime, if you don't know, you don't run, if they don't have a reason, fine, just let it go, but the moment you resist is the moment you have done something wrong, if you were going to be called out on something already and you resist on top of that, then you're in some serious shit.
@RossetaStoned91 If you look at the video it shows that the protestors are throwing bottles at the police, other videos show it more clear like the one that says 1/28/12-Occupy Oakland march becomes violent, or Battle on Oak Street #j28 occupy oakland, they tore down a fence completely and tried to take a building, really, they were trying to take a building because the owner wasn't using it but already they violated the guy's rights, he could do whatever he wants with the building.
@RossetaStoned91 Rare? this is only ONE instance, if you want to look up and find more, feel free to do so, there are plenty more i don't want to waste all of my time to look this stuff up for you, i am not your google or your YouTube, this is one of those moments where I should tell you to do more research and leave it at that, but i'm too nice to do that, look up the evictions and the arrests and everything...actually i apologize, i am giving a broad description, still, look it up.
@Evenwas616 I've done my research fool!! This is the first and only instance I've seen of this. And like I said it still doesn't justify the other instances of police brutality without any justification.
@RossetaStoned91 Fine, fine, i've already looked this up anyway, we both know if someone's lying, if you haven't even bothered then please just look it up more, that is if you want to.
@RossetaStoned91 There are plenty of videos on the 28th of January and yes i can blame all of the Occupy movement all over the world for what happened in Oakland alone, i haven't yet been doing that, but i could. There are plenty of videos that are usually called police brutality, it's commonly the ones that show the protestor refusing to move. You can call it peaceful all you want, but this isn't a Martin Luther King walk, this shows violence.
@RossetaStoned91 Destruction of private property happened all the time, you don't have to have the anarchists come over and do it either, the people themselves have done it, in the beginning, there were a few times they tried to skid one of those public mailboxes across the street to set a barricade, they have set barricades in the ports when trying to stop Goldman Sachs from something when in reality it only hurt the Union guys and they didn't get paid, that's how they lost the unions.
@RossetaStoned91 When a police officer tells you to move, you have to move. Simple as that. Google 'Street Speech: Your Rights in Washington to Parade, Picket, and Leaflet'. It's guidance for protesters from the ACLU and it says:
If you are instructed not to speak, demonstrate, or engage in some other free speech activity — whether by a law, a police officer, or other government official — you should know that continuing to engage in the activity may result in criminal charges.
@RossetaStoned91 In it's guidelines for protesters the ACLU says:
'Failure to obey a police officer may result in arrest under one of the following criminal offenses: Disorderly Conduct,Failure to Disperse,Resisting Arrest,Interference, obstruction of any court, building, or residence,Trespass'.
Police do not have to inform people what they are being charged with at the instant they arrest them.
@bones5616 Are you a cop man? Do you have as a cop? Because you can say whatever you want but there is no grounds for the way they beat and pepper spray people. Those protesters almost never show any of those conditions either and I've seen arrest with absolutely no reason. Look at the "Occupy DC--Police tase tase innocent protester" vid right to the right. How can you defend that???
@RossetaStoned91 So anyone who disagrees with you is automatically a police officer? That type of thinking is typical of the paranoid and delusional mindset that permeates the Occupy movement. No I'm not a police officer. No one in my family is either.
About the video 'Occupy DC--Police tase innocent protesters'. Use of the taser was completely justified.
@bones5616 even if you don't support what they are protesting you SHOULD support their right to say it. A taser is only necessary if the police are threatened. I HAVE YET TO SEE THEM THREATEN THE POLICE
As a military man and coming from a military family I can safely say that the threat citizens face is our government and not the governments 6000 miles away
@bones5616 WHAT!! This is exactly why I accuse you of being a cop!! That was absolutely in no way justified!! What makes you think these cops have absolute power?? He didn't even get Habius Corpus when he was dragged off! Like I said your either insanely dillusional or your just completely ignorant of how the justice system works.
@RossetaStoned91 So since it was in 'retaliation' and 'sublte' that somehow makes it OK? No that does not make it OK. Throwing things at police makes your protest a violent protest. Violent protests are not protected by the Constitution.
@bones5616 There are only very rare accounts of this and when the police step so outside of their boundaries I'd say our forefathers would say retaliation by the people would be justified. These people do not have the moral right to do this and to fight back is natural, although I do agree it should stay non-violent and the protesters have done extremely well with this message.
@RossetaStoned91 So what your saying is that it is wrong for the police to attack you but it's alright for you to attack the police. What a hypocritical double standard. If you really think attacking people is wrong then it is just as wrong when you do it as when they do it.
Protesters do not represent 'the people'. Claiming they are 'the people' is a common tactic used by protesters to make their movement seem larger than it really is.
@RossetaStoned91 Here's exactly what you said: 'I'd say our forefathers would say retaliation by the people would be justified.'
When have all these protesters attacked police? On October 25th Occupy Oakland protesters threw bottles, rockets, clorox, feces, paint and M-80s at police.
These OccuScum deliberately pick a fight with police and then complain when they get a fight. How is conflict with police officers stopping Walmart from importing tons of Chinese junk? How is taunting and insulting police stoping Apple from manufacturing their IPods, IPads, and IPhones overseas instead of in the USA?
Start thinking for a change and don't just be another ignorant OccuScum tool!
The OccuScum trash is NOT fighting for me. Vandalizing public buildings is NOT doing anything to help me. Burning our flag is NOT helping me. Those OccuScum are nothing more than a mob with the goal to destroy and damage, and provoke conflict with the police.
It is those police officers that are fighting for me. The problem is that the police are not using sufficient force, sufficient tear gas, or sufficient pepper spray on those violent occupy scum.
looked funny to me they where acting like there where gonna finally "fight back" then they all fled like some pussys!!! this will not make any change doing "it" this way
After viewing TONS of #MoveInDay footage, I feel some tactical organization would have changed this confrontation.
Ex: At 3:40, Medic calls go out for a lone person well ahead of the line who collapsed. (shown in other footage - I've never seen what caused it) Instead of a few people moving out to cover, treat, and move him to safety, the entire line pushed until they were ALL back inside OPD weapon range. Once that happened, OPD had the upper hand, opened fire with FBs, & chased everyone away.
Great job by those police officers. They should have used even more tear gas. Blessed is every drop of pepper spray delivered into the faces of OccuScum trash!
The smell of tear gas, the sound of flash bangs and the sea of black military fatigues draped in the backdrop of blue skies with a trace of a lone chemtrail (@ the 1:10 mark)...if only this were on a screen at the local theatre and not in the streets. Keep up the good fight.
@justice79170 You can talk and say whatever you want, you can assemble whenever you want, but you can't try to take a building and call it assembly or burn a house down and call it freedom of speech, that's a thing called reality. And by the way, you guys only are hurting yourselves, the backs aren't affected by 1% of the 99% not going to banks.
@Evenwas616 So what do you want to do, sit on your ass and let the 1% give it to you up the ass. The politicians are aware and they don't want momentum to build and that's why you don't see it on a lot of the big networks. There are two Bills one just got passed to the senate. The dem's reintroduced it and the repub's are signing it because they'll lose there political clot. Those Bills will hold Congress and Wall Street accountable for corruption
@justice79170 I am in the 1%, and don't call me a faggot, only a fucking idiot would call someone a faggot because they don't think it's considered offensive to gays. There is no momentum building up for the Occupy movement, whatever was there dwindled away after a month and a half. You guys keep thinking you can abuse the 1st amendment to get more out of it when you already crossed the line months ago.
@Evenwas616 For someone who's in the 1% your surely not educated. That's right, you guys make your money by lying and cheating. Well those days insider trading days are over.
"I am in the 1%", you are a fucking faggot LOL. "I am in the 1%".
@justice79170 We aren't the LIARS and cheaters you stereotypical child, you want to know my family history? I could tell you it and you might just want to cry along the whole way for how i am here today.
@Evenwas616 OMG, "let me tell you my family history." This isn't a history class stupid ass, this is about the insider trading that happened on Wall Street and with the members in Congress. Why don't you do some research and then come back; you're probably paying for the corruption and don't even know it.
@justice79170 I probably AM THE CORRUPTION AND YOU DON't EVEN KNOW IT, i'm sorry, but with having my family coming close to extermination and then working 90+hours every week of their lives because they just wanted to live and getting picked on because of being Jewish, I dont think I want to listen to your shit, BUT I WILL, because it's amusing hearing what you have to say about it.
@justice79170 Wow, really some dumb fuck you are, I don't know how much depletion of understanding and knowledge i can take anymore, i won't stop talking to you because i personally find this fucking hilarious, yeah i am in the 1%, I'm guessing you just aren't because you hate me so much for being in it, sucks to be in your shoes.
@justice79170 I might as well call you a Nazi because it's the only thing on my mind right now that i'm thinking of that would Maybe offend some one, hello Nazi, little Fascist prick you.
@Evenwas616 Do your own home work, I'm not here to educate you. If you don't know about the corruption, I don't know where the fuck you been the last decade.
@justice79170 Well of course this conversation has nothing to do with class, because you clearly don't have any. The more you call me the fucking idiot makes me fucking laugh. This whole conversation you decided to say that i'm asshole because i don't agree with you and then once i said i was in the 1%, you really hated me, being in the 1% doesn't mean we have 20 Roles Royce cars we can throw off cliffs for fun, it means we worked and earned our way up to get there.
@Evenwas616 Hey stupid ass, use that money and get an education. Obviously you have no clue what is going on. I'm done chatting with someone who's clueless.
@Evenwas616 I'd be happy to talk to you if you had something intelligent to say, but you don't. You keep saying I said the 1% is the bad guy when I'm talking about the corruption in Congress and on Wall Street. You know who you should talk to, Sarah Palin or Michele Bachman. I think you guys would be on the same page.
@justice79170 Ugh, i hate those two, your starting statement was that i was a liar and a cheater because i was 1%, i could just recopy the whole thing as a comment again just to make sure you remember.
@Evenwas616 Would like me to draw you a picture about the corruption on Wall Street which has to do with the financial elite who are the corrupt ass holes on Wall Street who consider themselves to be the 1%.
How can America preach democracy and freedom when they won't even let there own citizen’s exercise that right. These occupiers are protesting a great injustice and yet they are the one's getting arrested, not the insider traders on Wall Street and in Congress who used tax monies to make billions, not the CEO's who stole Billions and Millions from investors
communist, red flag wavers, face covered, anarchists, hippies, and the angry screamers are your worst enemies of a peaceful protest. Destroying property, costing police time, throwing trash, yelling, leaving garbage give a bad taste to anyone who watches you and you loose by default.. Confrontation because they can't convince anyone by any other means and the fools comply because they don't know any better. The Tea Party had millions in attendance with little incidents and changed Congress.
@nippyhippy123 That's an interesting point. The tea party shows up and all the media and their other opponents do is ponder whether they are racist or not and spend all their energy trying to prove it. One thing is sure, the Tea Party would NEVER be allowed to do what these mobs are doing. There would have been millions of Leftists swarming upon their "camps" and the govt would have probably called out the ATF.
And OWS wouldn't have said shit. Speaking of what has OWS done? NOTHING.
@nippyhippy123 Stopped Obama, the Democrats and George Soros from bankrupting the country and restoring Free Enterprise back to America. It's in the bag if Americans were bright enough to see it.
What pittance did Obama toss in your alley to make you burn and loot like animals?
@DudleyaSetchellii Your fucking idiot, these people are protesting a great injustice. Why don't you just stay home and sleep while these people fight for you. Fucking Pussy
@justice79170 If it's not your money to begin with, stealing it isn't going to bring justice. You have to earn it, not take it or it ruins the market. Economics 101. Go visit Cuba and see what a wonderful state of socialism can do to you.
@DudleyaSetchellii The only thieves I see are on Wall Street. You blame Obama for this economic crisis? It's was the insider trading, false financial reports and corrupt members in Congress that got us in this predicament. Maybe you should take a class on Economics 102 and a class in legislation. And yes it is my taxes that made those corrupt ass holes rich, where do you think they got the money, hard work.
@Evenwas616 The light finally went on, your a fucking dumb ass. Your so fucking stupid it ain't even funny. Part of the 1% my ass, fucking lying piece of shit.
@justice79170 I don't lie, only if i'm lying or not, you can't judge it from the other side of the screen and know an answer for sure, only I Do, to call me a liar is for me to call you gay because i have no idea if you are gay or not, a similar word would be like "faggot", you've just assumed your way through this excuse of a discussion and i find that annoying. The cause for occupy wall street won't go through and succeed, it's pawns versus queens as i see it, and you're the pawns.
@DudleyaSetchellii I lost a lot of money because of CFO's and CEO's lying about there financials. "Free Enterprise back to America", Free Enterprise never left America, corruption entered. That's what will bring America back, a law that is fair for all.
Money is evil and made from a tree which grows from the earth for free. See the evil in that? I think we could co-exist as civilized people more without money better than with it. Stop wanting the fake things cause everything has a price tag now want the real things like love, peace, frienship, compassion and honesty.Respect comes from those who do good. Land and shelter should be a birthright, tech.free, food free, everything could be regulated and fair the same for everyone. What do you really need
Good and evil that s it but the Police are just people like you and will soon side with the movement. Everyone has a right to live how they please as long as they live within their own circle of space and treat everyone as equals and human beings one world one earth. I love this video because it marks the beginning of something better. A life of freedom and equality for all. Fear is gone and now live your life. Tech.could be free, food free, power free, water free. Money needs to go first off:)
@into777infinity It's not a peaceful assembly. They have no permits. They are causing health and welfare issues with the residents in the area. The city is spending millions to keep the peace. Most of them don't live in the city. Many of them are communists, anarchrists and just want to cause trouble for their stupid causes. Oh.. and to the haters what happened to my FREE SPEECH? yea
@DudleyaSetchellii Interesting... The biggest health and safety threat to Oakland residents that I could see was the police using weapons on them. This was especially true at 18th & Telegraph later in the day when the police launched tear gas grenades right in front of an apartment complex.
THE REAL TERRORIST IS THE US GOVT. TERRORISM KILLS 68 PEOPLE PER YEAR MEANWHILE HEART DISEASE KILLS 400,000 PEOPLE EACH YEAR; THE DEFENSE BUDGET IS 128 BILLION WHILE HEART DISEASE RESEARCH BUDGET IS 2 BILLION.
My favorite part is when the cops finally give them the tear gas, the trash-hipsters ("trashsters"?) start yelling taunts, "just firecrackers!". Seconds later they realize they aren't dealing with firecrackers.
You were occupying a building that did not belong to you and blocking a public street. What did you think was going to happen? Quit being a public nuisance causing the city to waste funds on all the extra police and overtime. Go occupy your parents basement.
@orion1anon Educate yourself about the corruption that caused this, members in Congress and Wall Street used your taxes so they could make billions. They been doing it for years.
There's also a thing called the 1st Amendment, ever hear of it, a lot of people refer to it as the freedome of speech, it's the right to peacefully assemble and protest. Why don't you stay home and sleep while these people fight for you.
@justice79170 The delusional righteousness is sickening. The reality of what this movement is about is apparent when one considers how few Libertarians have participated and that the American Nazi Party, Communist Party, and International Union Orgs have endorsed.
The 1st Amendment. You must be kidding.
I agree people are asleep and in general Americans today are not revolutionary but this OWS movement is NOT revolutionary either. Only Individualists offer anything new to this world.
@FoundInBetween Well I guess the American Nazi Party and the Communist Party is winning because the house just passed a Bill to the senate that would hold Congress and Wall Street accountable for insider trading and Wall Street corruption. I guess you better write your representative and vote against those Bills.
@justice79170 They "passed a bill"? Gee. Say hi to Rangel for me.
Check out a Conservative named Peter Schweizer and his recent book which was discussed on ALL news networks since Nov. See the '60 Minutes' expose.
“It appears that our message has finally broken through,” said Schweizer. “Thousands of citizens across America have called and written their representatives and the White House demanding a ban on congressional insider trading."
research a common human condition called. "compensated psychopath". We will never understand how some humans can blindly follow orders - even if it's to harm/kill regular people.
also check out the video "The Quantum Activist". It helps explain the scientific explanation for "the hundredth monkey"
You fail as a combat photographer, but excel at running.
Your protest or march or sit in or YMCA revival or civil disobedience is a joke. The one thing "the man" has that you guys can't seem to grasp. Is unity. You're "supposed to be" a unified movement, but you're little more than a bunch of kids getting gassed and arrested everyday on the streets. Where are your gas masks? Invest in some. I know this is all about disenfranchisement, but you guys have to wise up or you won't EVER beat them.
i was not there but having been tear gassed on oct 25th and nov 2nd i can safely say none of you have any idea of the dynamics of events like this. it is both sides fault. people are careless and reckless and police react when bottles and rocks get thrown st them, often causing harm to innocent bystanders. peace is the only option.
@joemuscle52 except i wouldn't be a scurrying little unbathed bitch begging for other people's money... occupy people are pathetic... only thing good about them is i can find videos of them getting their asses kicked by police, many.... sadly this isn't one of those videos
@MrThanksButNoThanks Dude, I'm curious, how much are you paid to troll social networking sites and leave comments like that? Cuz I want a sweet-ass job that pays $80k+ to simply type dumb things for government psy-ops agencies as well!
@wakeupscreaming stop dreaming of conspiracies and stop defending beggar trash... siding with lowlife mobs of losers will never get you anywhere... even the liberal cities of America can't stand them now so they round them up like animals...gross losers
What happened to girl down from gas or unable to breathe or dummy bullet. Did anyone stay with her? What the he'll? Did cops help her? What da f***? Save USA Big money. Give all police and military jobs to African immigrants. Cheaper than Mexico immigrants.
When Ex police & military protest, Deport them to Cuba. Cuba must support USA refugees. No cost for USA prison.

@RossetaStoned91 Your protest was not non-violent. There are videos on YouTube showing protesters throwing things at police.

@bones5616 If you look into it it was in retaliation and very subtle. Just look at other countries, the cops got violent and the people destroy them. We're being quite civil in my opinion with as much as the protesters have put up with from the cops.

RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 You are not in a place that has an Occupy movement? Why did you use the word 'we'? Using the word 'we' would indicate you are one of the protesters present.
Police are not abusing their powers. You are abusing your right of free speech. Protesters are constantly trying to provoke police. Protesters are taunting, jeering and yelling at police. Taunting, jeering and yelling at police is not what I call a 'peaceful' protest.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 So that makes it OK for the police to beat the hell out of innocent people and arrest them with no charges. You can see many accounts of these cops hurting people with no accounts of antagonizing. You can make as many excuses for them as you want but humans have a powerful tendency to use their power malicously on every level as proven by science and history. Just look at the Standford Prison Experiment. Once these people (or atleast some) put on a uniform they change.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 Police aren't 'beating the hell' out of anyone. Police aren't arresting people with no charges. I haven't seen any accounts of 'police hurting people with no accounts of antagonizing'. What I have seen is police acting with incredible restraint towards people who are trying to provoke them. I am not making excuses for them. They aren't doing anything that needs to be excused.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 Police aren't doing anything wrong. So your claim that putting on a uniform makes them behave differently is bogus. It is the protesters who are using their power violently and maliciously.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 You're full of shit!!! Just take a look at the videos to the right!! How can you say these police aren't doing anything wrong?? How are the protestors being violent or malicous in any way??? There's video evidence of them pepper spraying protestors for no reason!! Wildly swinging batons, pulling people out of the crowd, arresting people without charges!! How can you defend these people? How can you be so blind to the reality of the situation?
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 4
@RossetaStoned91 How are protesters being violent and malicious? Throwing things at police during the January 28 protest is violent and malicious. On November 3rd protesters smashed windows, set fires and sprayed Oakland businesses with graffiti. Buildings that had windows smashed included a Men's Wearhouse store, a dental office and the headquarters of the police internal affairs division. Graffiti messages included phrases like 'kill cops'. How can YOU be so blind.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 Also I mean "we" in a collective sense. These are our brothers and sisters as US citizens and I am outraged of how they are being treated.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 3
@RossetaStoned91 They are activating the power they are given as officers, there was not one time i have seen them abuse their power in the movement especially since every has a camera. The movement breaks: Assault, destruction of public property, trespassing, avoiding evictions, resisting arrest, assisting someone who is being arrested, not cooperating with a police officer's simple instructions, I could go on forever and i'm not one siding my opinion, this is what i see.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@Evenwas616 I don't know what powers you think they have but they have abused their power many times. If you can look at those videos and tell me that those cops were within reason then you are dillusional. Assaut? When? It's a peaceful protest and have done so! Destruction of Private property? Again when! They protest on public areas like the law allows. The people resist arrest because they're being arrested without charges! And they usually do comply with reasonable instruction
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 2
@RossetaStoned91 Do you think it's a good idea at all to resist arrest if you no idea what you're being arrested for? people get charged for that as a crime, if you don't know, you don't run, if they don't have a reason, fine, just let it go, but the moment you resist is the moment you have done something wrong, if you were going to be called out on something already and you resist on top of that, then you're in some serious shit.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 If you look at the video it shows that the protestors are throwing bottles at the police, other videos show it more clear like the one that says 1/28/12-Occupy Oakland march becomes violent, or Battle on Oak Street #j28 occupy oakland, they tore down a fence completely and tried to take a building, really, they were trying to take a building because the owner wasn't using it but already they violated the guy's rights, he could do whatever he wants with the building.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@Evenwas616 Like I said, 1 rare instance. That does not justify all of the over accounts of police brutality that has taken place.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 Rare? this is only ONE instance, if you want to look up and find more, feel free to do so, there are plenty more i don't want to waste all of my time to look this stuff up for you, i am not your google or your YouTube, this is one of those moments where I should tell you to do more research and leave it at that, but i'm too nice to do that, look up the evictions and the arrests and everything...actually i apologize, i am giving a broad description, still, look it up.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@Evenwas616 I've done my research fool!! This is the first and only instance I've seen of this. And like I said it still doesn't justify the other instances of police brutality without any justification.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 3
@RossetaStoned91 Fine, fine, i've already looked this up anyway, we both know if someone's lying, if you haven't even bothered then please just look it up more, that is if you want to.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 There are plenty of videos on the 28th of January and yes i can blame all of the Occupy movement all over the world for what happened in Oakland alone, i haven't yet been doing that, but i could. There are plenty of videos that are usually called police brutality, it's commonly the ones that show the protestor refusing to move. You can call it peaceful all you want, but this isn't a Martin Luther King walk, this shows violence.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 Destruction of private property happened all the time, you don't have to have the anarchists come over and do it either, the people themselves have done it, in the beginning, there were a few times they tried to skid one of those public mailboxes across the street to set a barricade, they have set barricades in the ports when trying to stop Goldman Sachs from something when in reality it only hurt the Union guys and they didn't get paid, that's how they lost the unions.
Evenwas616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 When a police officer tells you to move, you have to move. Simple as that. Google 'Street Speech: Your Rights in Washington to Parade, Picket, and Leaflet'. It's guidance for protesters from the ACLU and it says:
If you are instructed not to speak, demonstrate, or engage in some other free speech activity — whether by a law, a police officer, or other government official — you should know that continuing to engage in the activity may result in criminal charges.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 In it's guidelines for protesters the ACLU says:
'Failure to obey a police officer may result in arrest under one of the following criminal offenses: Disorderly Conduct,Failure to Disperse,Resisting Arrest,Interference, obstruction of any court, building, or residence,Trespass'.
Police do not have to inform people what they are being charged with at the instant they arrest them.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 Are you a cop man? Do you have as a cop? Because you can say whatever you want but there is no grounds for the way they beat and pepper spray people. Those protesters almost never show any of those conditions either and I've seen arrest with absolutely no reason. Look at the "Occupy DC--Police tase tase innocent protester" vid right to the right. How can you defend that???
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 4
@RossetaStoned91 So anyone who disagrees with you is automatically a police officer? That type of thinking is typical of the paranoid and delusional mindset that permeates the Occupy movement. No I'm not a police officer. No one in my family is either.
About the video 'Occupy DC--Police tase innocent protesters'. Use of the taser was completely justified.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 even if you don't support what they are protesting you SHOULD support their right to say it. A taser is only necessary if the police are threatened. I HAVE YET TO SEE THEM THREATEN THE POLICE
As a military man and coming from a military family I can safely say that the threat citizens face is our government and not the governments 6000 miles away
daMANdaMYTHdaMEDVIN 2 weeks ago 5
@bones5616 WHAT!! This is exactly why I accuse you of being a cop!! That was absolutely in no way justified!! What makes you think these cops have absolute power?? He didn't even get Habius Corpus when he was dragged off! Like I said your either insanely dillusional or your just completely ignorant of how the justice system works.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 *family
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago
@RossetaStoned91 So since it was in 'retaliation' and 'sublte' that somehow makes it OK? No that does not make it OK. Throwing things at police makes your protest a violent protest. Violent protests are not protected by the Constitution.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 There are only very rare accounts of this and when the police step so outside of their boundaries I'd say our forefathers would say retaliation by the people would be justified. These people do not have the moral right to do this and to fight back is natural, although I do agree it should stay non-violent and the protesters have done extremely well with this message.
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 3
@RossetaStoned91 So what your saying is that it is wrong for the police to attack you but it's alright for you to attack the police. What a hypocritical double standard. If you really think attacking people is wrong then it is just as wrong when you do it as when they do it.
Protesters do not represent 'the people'. Claiming they are 'the people' is a common tactic used by protesters to make their movement seem larger than it really is.
bones5616 2 weeks ago
@bones5616 I am not saying that at all! When have these protesters attacked the police??
RossetaStoned91 2 weeks ago 3
@RossetaStoned91 Here's exactly what you said: 'I'd say our forefathers would say retaliation by the people would be justified.'
When have all these protesters attacked police? On October 25th Occupy Oakland protesters threw bottles, rockets, clorox, feces, paint and M-80s at police.

You were occupying a building that did not belong to you and blocking a public street. What did you think was going to happen? Quit being a public nuisance causing the city to waste funds on all the extra police and overtime. Go occupy your parents basement.

sunshine34ification 3 weeks ago
@orion1anon Educate yourself about the corruption that caused this, members in Congress and Wall Street used your taxes so they could make billions. They been doing it for years.
There's also a thing called the 1st Amendment, ever hear of it, a lot of people refer to it as the freedome of speech, it's the right to peacefully assemble and protest. Why don't you stay home and sleep while these people fight for you.
justice79170 3 weeks ago
@justice79170 The delusional righteousness is sickening. The reality of what this movement is about is apparent when one considers how few Libertarians have participated and that the American Nazi Party, Communist Party, and International Union Orgs have endorsed.
The 1st Amendment. You must be kidding.
I agree people are asleep and in general Americans today are not revolutionary but this OWS movement is NOT revolutionary either. Only Individualists offer anything new to this world.
FoundInBetween 3 weeks ago
@FoundInBetween Well I guess the American Nazi Party and the Communist Party is winning because the house just passed a Bill to the senate that would hold Congress and Wall Street accountable for insider trading and Wall Street corruption. I guess you better write your representative and vote against those Bills.
justice79170 3 weeks ago
@justice79170 They "passed a bill"? Gee. Say hi to Rangel for me.
Check out a Conservative named Peter Schweizer and his recent book which was discussed on ALL news networks since Nov. See the '60 Minutes' expose.
“It appears that our message has finally broken through,” said Schweizer. “Thousands of citizens across America have called and written their representatives and the White House demanding a ban on congressional insider trading."
It appears riotous youth were not required.

research a common human condition called.

I know this is all about disenfranchisement, but you guys have to wise up or you won't EVER beat them.

stenton911 3 weeks ago
i was not there but having been tear gassed on oct 25th and nov 2nd i can safely say none of you have any idea of the dynamics of events like this. it is both sides fault. people are careless and reckless and police react when bottles and rocks get thrown st them, often causing harm to innocent bystanders. peace is the only option.

@MrThanksButNoThanks Dude, I'm curious, how much are you paid to troll social networking sites and leave comments like that? Cuz I want a sweet-ass job that pays $80k+ to simply type dumb things for government psy-ops agencies as well!
