its not the "drugs" in the water you need to worry about...its the viruses in the water that you need to worry about...First Need XL is the only EPA certified filter that removes EVERYTHING without the use of chemicals! Its First Need or nothing in my pack!
@frank0067 The best water filter out there is made by AQUASANA. It removes all the toxins and other shit WHILE still leaving all the natural minerals in!
Any actions taken will assist in reducing the overall exposure to all the toxins present in our drinking water. The challenge about filters is that unless they are fully tested by reputable independent agency, there is no telling what it will effectively treat. One such waste of money is the Brita filter! No matter how you slice it, the replacement cartridges add up quickly...while only addressing limited problems; but they sure have great commercials and cheap start up cost. "Buyer be ware"
Are the minerals in water good for you ? my research says they are not bioavailable . Sure the human body may be able to use a very small portion of the minerals but almost all (95%) minerals and vitamins come from your foods, not water. Is it better to have the best filter or not recommend one and run the risk of some unknown toxin or impurity in your water. Get the best damn filter you can...there are 60,0000 man made chemicals out there .Common sense goes along way folks!!
TEST YOUR WATER AT THE TAP! It does not matter what your city says about how your water quality is. Your water is going through miles of pipes some being 100+ years old with 100+plus years of build up in the pipes.
here in central florida we had surfer water for years and then after 1970 someone said just put this filter container on the well water then in the 1990s someone said to a water softtener on with bags on salt now in 2000 we have to have a carbon water filer // all this is before thewater gets into the old home that my father had ...
not. distilled water got rid of all my children leads poising. all my children lead level arrange from 11 to 13 but after a month on only distilled water except cooking i used filter water for that -all they lead level went down to only 1 point and their doctor was so surprise.
.
deep down i believe it was a 0 but i think the lab technician never saw nothing like it because i live in the city.. the kids doctor also saw nothing like it.
.
distilled water also got rid of my friend kidney stone!
I think an important part of this is evaluating the cost of testing v. the cost of treating. First, if you had your water tested today that does not mean the results will be the same in a year down the road. Then, testing can be expensive for metals, pesticides, drugs (like LoveGuitars suggested), etc. To me, it would make better sense to simply treat the water in a manner that you are comfortable with. Me, I buy distilled...
Should always use lead pipes on drinking water systems and the older the better, you should also add 1 litre of zinc oxide solution per 10 litres of drinking water. I have been doing it this way for about 8 hours now and mygod do i feel ill i have been sick 4 times and have lost 9Kg in weight any ideas why?
I gotta believe that distilled water is by far the best way to go just because it's sooooooo free of toxins. And if one has a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables, then what could go wrong?:-)
actually, there are some chemicals that are more volatile than water (they evaporate faster than water) which means that you will be concentrating those chemicals in your "distilled" drinking water thereby poisoning yourself. Besides, most distilled water (unless you're doing it yourself) come in plastic bottles - not very healthy.
After looking into the whole water thing, I decided my tap water is good enough. Can't see any point in using cleaners to clean the distiller, as it sorta defeats the purpose.
Filtered tap water. Bottled water is not regulated except by the FDA. However, the FDA has NO CONTROL and no power to enforce anything. Moreover, bottled water doesn't have to conform to any standards at all if sold in the same U.S. state it was manufactured in. Therefore, the bottled water companies are dishonest when they say the FDA regulates them.
Municipal water is regulated by the EPA, which has stricter standards and actually has teeth to punish offenders.
I 've never heard someone so earnestly explain that I need to test something before I try to fix it. Would have been nice if he mentioned a kit you could use to actually test the bloody water.
I don't know if this relates directly, but my question is: What temperature should water NOT exceed when making tea, in order to retain all the health properties of the tea itself?
Hey Kevin, What is your take on bottled water? I live in Florida and we have a bottled water called Zephyr Hills Spring Water that I really like the taste of but have no idea if they even filter it or not. Do you know how I can find out? and should I have that water tested as well? Thx
wait, how do I get my cities water report?

If we're to really go green, we need to green the water & remove the added Fluoride & other toxins.

Hey Kevin,
You never addressed anything.
There are traces of drugs in our watertoday. There is no filter to take these drugs out.
What are the long term effects? It's best to drink distilled water and add some apple cider vinegar to it to replace some minerals.
loveguitars 3 years ago 9
rodi filter removes drugs i think.

mrjimmypayjo 3 years ago
depends on what tea.
Green Teas: 180 degrees
Semi-Fermented teas: 195 degrees (just off boil)
Black Teas: 212 degrees (just off boil)
