See people think that a hulk movie has to be full of action. your wrong, action is extra, the story is the main thing. People underrate this movie all the time, but what they don't realize is when they saw it, they were probably to young to understand it anyway.
I'm not usually a fan of Danny Elfman (more of a Hans Zimmer/James Horner guy) but he did a great job with this one. The music is part of the reason why this movie made such a lasting impression on me, it created such vivid feelings of epicness, drama, and psychological torment...I must have been no older than 10 when I first saw it and I'll never forget how it made me feel.

Didn't care for either films. The new one had a lot more action with fighting the Abomination, and this one had....a mutant hulk poodle and what ever the hell Bruce's dad was. I wanna say this is better, but there was sooooooo much dialogue I was almost fell asleep at times, not to mention the whole comic panels showing multiple things going on gave me a headache.
Nevertheless the music in this one beats the holy hell of the new one

Most People do not know that alot of the stuff in 2003 Hulk are in the comics, like the hulk dogs, the problem Bruce has with his father, ect.... Just Ang Lee combined Bruce's father and the absorbing man together in this movie. It's too bad that becasue this movie was hated, Ang Lee almost gave up film making.

Nobody can deny that this movie has far better music than the 2008 movie. I'm not saying Craig Armstrong's score for the 2008 movie was bad, I loved it as well, but this just takes the cake. One of the best superhero movie themes ever, and my personal favorite.

I hated the score to the new one! It was so dull & didn't really have much of the chemical, & Hulk feel to it. Danny Elfman captured the Hulk, dark, emotional, & chemical-like feel to it, & that's how it should have been. While I liked both movies, but I prefer this one anyday.

The intro to this movie was flawless and perfect... and always makes me want to run a gel (gel electrophoresis)... But if you don't know what that is, then you didn't see it in the intro. The movie was made for bright kids, but marketed to mouth breathing 12 - 35 year olds who have posters of tv wrasslin' heroes on their bedroom wall. Gotta love the cynical businessmen in the industry... they can't resist taking advantage of the easily amused. Hence, Hulk2008.
Good god at 0:43 is just my favorite part its just awesome how they switch it over into a all powerful divine tune in the background while still keeping that dramatic phase just listen real closely

Also Bruce makes a reference in the scene after the Dog fight, he says that there was already something there over there years and that the Gamma Radiation activated (Awaken) that personality. Well, the Hulk can become way stronger then the Abomination, and beat´d the Abomination in every in-counter they had.

@DarthSithShem Hulk´s base strength starts with 80 - 90 thats how it is. His healing factor mostly takes about seconds well, he needed to recover from a broken neck once and it took him one week. So its various.
These are enough points to say, that the Abomination in the movie was a whole failure. Secondly, they fucked up Abomination´s look. They should´ve used his modern appearance.
Just because they used Blonsky and the Abomination dosen´t makes it better. They fucked Bonsky more up then they did it with Brain in Movie 2003. Brain actually did similar the same what he did in the comics. But Blonsky didn´t grew up in England and he also isn´t russian, he is Yugoslavian. Secondly, Emil didn´t worked for the U.S he worked as a Yugoslavian spy on the Gamma base were he intended to sabotage their missiles also, he didn´t wanted to become the Abomination he got it by accident.

yeah but the hulk model didn't look that good, it looked like an oversized shrek, while the new one may be smaller but looked much cooler and had much more detail on its body, at least in my opinion.

@BlockStar900 2008 is one of the movies that leads to the Avengers. Besides, both of them are completely respectable. This one dealt with the psychological aspect and mental deterioration of Bruce Banner, whilst the other one dealt with the conflicts that he faces in the outside world. Anyone who thinks of the two together can see that.
They should have had a mix between this one and the new one. The first one had more interesting characters and a deeper psychological look into Banner, but the special effects were lousy and the story was too different from the comics. The new one was too dumb and not dark enough for a Hulk movie but had good action. Combine those 2 and you get a perfect Hulk movie !
You know, even though my taste in how I view this movie (which is not very good to say the least) this is the best Hulk theme ever set in film (anything that Danny Elfman composes is worthy of everyone being complimentary - He really knows how to bring essential themes to the best of superheroes!
I don't care what most people think. This was the better film. The original take that Ang took with Elfman's them was just phenomenal. Plus Anytime you Put Sam Elliott in a role he makes the movie better.

This filmed sucked. The Hulk's girlfriend sucked, the dialog sucked, the special effects sucked, and the primary antagonist sucked.
They should have just skipped to the point. The point is seeing the Hulk smash stuff. That's what people expect and want to see. There's gotta be a plot, but focus on all the mindless violence.

The story: its a tie between the 2003 one and the 2008 one. for reasons im not getting into, because im in a rush. About this theme, wow, the first min. is so nice. why? because it sounds cool.

And says "Puny Human". Therefor it is obviously note able that The Hulk see´s Bruce still puny. Also Bruce makes a reference in the scene after the Dog fight, he says that there was already something there over there years and that the Gamma Radiation activated (Awaken) that personality. Well, the Hulk can become way stronger then the Abomination, and beat´d the Abomination in every in-counter they had.

@DarthSithShem Hulk´s base strength starts with 80 - 90 thats how it is. His healing factor mostly takes about seconds well, he needed to recover from a broken neck once and it took him one week. So its various.

These are enough points to say, that the Abomination in the movie was a whole failure. Secondly, they fucked up Abomination´s look. They should´ve used his modern appearance.

Just because they used Blonsky and the Abomination dosen´t makes it better. They fucked Bonsky more up then they did it with Brain in Movie 2003. Brain actually did similar the same what he did in the comics. But Blonsky didn´t grew up in England and he also isn´t russian, he is Yugoslavian. Secondly, Emil didn´t worked for the U.S he worked as a Yugoslavian spy on the Gamma base were he intended to sabotage their missiles also, he didn´t wanted to become the Abomination he got it by accident.

yeah but the hulk model didn't look that good, it looked like an oversized shrek, while the new one may be smaller but looked much cooler and had much more detail on its body, at least in my opinion.

but it didn't make sense through beginning and end and 2008 hulk made good sense and they put the villain ABOMINATION in it so i guess two hulk movies are the same

@BlockStar900 2008 is one of the movies that leads to the Avengers. Besides, both of them are completely respectable. This one dealt with the psychological aspect and mental deterioration of Bruce Banner, whilst the other one dealt with the conflicts that he faces in the outside world. Anyone who thinks of the two together can see that.

They should have had a mix between this one and the new one. The first one had more interesting characters and a deeper psychological look into Banner, but the special effects were lousy and the story was too different from the comics. The new one was too dumb and not dark enough for a Hulk movie but had good action. Combine those 2 and you get a perfect Hulk movie !

You know, even though my taste in how I view this movie (which is not very good to say the least) this is the best Hulk theme ever set in film (anything that Danny Elfman composes is worthy of everyone being complimentary - He really knows how to bring essential themes to the best of superheroes!

I don't care what most people think. This was the better film. The original take that Ang took with Elfman's them was just phenomenal. Plus Anytime you Put Sam Elliott in a role he makes the movie better.

in my opinion, this movie is just a tiny bit better then the 2008 hulk. i never even cared about the mutant dogs, i just wanted to see him kick some butt!

This filmed sucked. The Hulk's girlfriend sucked, the dialog sucked, the special effects sucked, and the primary antagonist sucked.
They should have just skipped to the point. The point is seeing the Hulk smash stuff. That's what people expect and want to see. There's gotta be a plot, but focus on all the mindless violence.

personally, i liked both of the movies. The 2003 one was more in depth, like, getting into his past and stuff, and it had a WAY better score. The 2008 one had more fighting, and less of the flashbacks that made the 2003 one more interesting. For the fx, hands down, the 2008 one. The score: 2003 one. The story: its a tie between the 2003 one and the 2008 one. for reasons im not getting into, because im in a rush. About this theme, wow, the first min. is so nice. why? because it sounds cool.
