  • Sabotage ya mungiki! They have poisoned the fish.

  • The vulture polytricksters and their funders running flower farms are killing our lake. We have vultures and hyenas plundering our natural resources. This has to stop. It's bringing our nation to a precipice. These ecological disasters poisoning our environment have to stop.

  • Nema is another white elephant project in the horizon.. vishindo nyingi but harms no fly...

  • @magadiboy NEMA is busy at the moment. They are ensuring that no matatu in Kenya is playing loud music. Once they have completed that very important task, they will deal with our collapsing environment, never mind!

  • the blood of dead kenyans from that post election violence is flowin down those rivers, kinda reminds me of egypt and the plague of blood, where the blood of all the dead children pharaoh killed flowed

  • lake nakuru inakauka.

Lake naivasha's big fish are dying (could that be a symbolism to our country?)

Anyway, Lake turkana is dried up.

    Lake victoria has hyacinth....

    Ai yawa...my country shida everywhere!

  • The flower companies should be thrown out of Kenya immediately. The only benefit they offer is the KSH 150 daily wage to the majority of their workers who are casuals. Most of the sales money is remitted to European Accounts with maximum effort and forgery to evade tax, not commensurate with the harm they cause to our environment. Incidentally, every year containers with falsified documents of pesticide concoctions are imported through Mombasa headed for Lake Naivasha. Nobody checks the Mzungus!

  • Brenda, "Effluent" is the word, not "Affluent". We expect journalists to know proper English for communication! But still, your job is good

  • @2190g1 Journalists are taught on how to report and nobody cares on how good their English is. You would have asked me why I said I needed to be exempted English because I knew the language. However in the second year of University I was told that I needed extra tutoring, that is how I improved on it, others graduated early and got jobs with both nation and KTN, I did not like the product they sold but they accused me of having gripes with them

  • @2190g1 She actually meant Effluent caused by the Affluent. Lol

  • Kenyan media houses need specialist reporters. No media house in this world is like the BBC where they have all sorts of different specialized reporters but that does not mean we cannot at least try... they could have sent an environmental reporter to Lake Naivasha or at least had him/her check on the reporting of this reporter

  • Who allowed the flower farms to use lake NaivashA in the first place. They then went a head and formed Lake Naivasha riparian society to advocate for wise use of the lake.Funny that the law makers are very blunt on this issue, we are bright to know that the flower farms fund their campaign.Lake Naivasha is a national resource.

  • thanks Brenda you are working very hard. The rich people in Kenya do not care about the poor. How can we make these owners of flower farm know that poor fishermen exist and have to survive? something must be done either peacefully or violently. Yes violently Kibaki government dose not exist to help the poor.

  • Outrageous!

NEMA should tell the world what is causing this environment disaster...Lake Naivasha will not be allowed die! Time to shut down those valentine flower farms!
