  • yeah, as someone not familiar with this guy's ideas i'm having trouble keeping up. sometimes it takes me a minute to realize what word he said... which is not great considering that i'm already in over my head. but a simple google search leads you directly to his paper (15 pages isn't too bad) and it is already clearer w/o his accent. i may give this talk another go after reading.

  • where can I find "compositionist manifesto"? Is it a journal article?

  • @jessicachamaline86 It's an article yes. I've got the "second draft" in pdf form here. Don't remember where i found it, but if you msg an email or smt I can send it to you.

  • I found it a pretty clear and interesting presentation but that might just be because I've read a bit of Latour. I agree that he can sometimes be a bit too presumptuous and precociously playful in the presentation of what are relatively new ideas to many people, but I think its definitely worth having patience with in his case. Also, being French, intellectual and a challenging writer is not enough to make one a postmodernist...

  • I would like to know, is there anybody who can understand this pomo giberish?

  • @pacdievs Try reading his "compositionist manifesto" - it's short, clear, and remarkably jargonless :)

  • @CPLains I also suggest reading "Why Critique Has Run Out of Steam." It may be considered the prelude to this argument.

  • @pacdievs sounds pretty clear to me.
