In Gothenburg there were a lot of resistance groups that tried to, with the help of great britain, stop the Germans. For example they tried to move big cargo ships so that the Germans wouldn't be able to lay a hand on them.

I know that the swedish army has a bigger and older tradition than Finland's army. Second...yes, they owned Finland for 600 years. I read weapon magazines and I've read a lot about swedish weapons and mmm...nothing about Finland. I know that the swedish army has a bigger and older tradition than Finland's army. Second...yes, they owned Finland for 600 years. I read weapon magazines and I've read a lot about swedish weapons and mmm...nothing about Finland. The swedes also gave support (maybe not so direct as everybody wished) to Finland against the soviets. Friend, I think you should read more.

The way i see it we had no obligation to put our own nation in jeopordy against a war that seemed like a sertain defeat in this case, its just silly of the finns to think we had. You had independence and you defended it well, like you should, and you where victorys, but still you hold a grudge against uss. Cleary you showed your own merits in the war and didnt need mutch of our help, its like the finns blame sweden for the lost of the karoline lands.

It allways sounds like it was Swedens obligation to help a indipendent Finland in war, just you where a part of the Swedish kingdom. Its true our nobles put Finland trough hardship whit war, but that wasnt any diffrent from the rest of the country. And besides Russia is the one to blame for that hardship, they declared war so many times. You chose your protective state, whitch was uss over the Russians and you had your own dutchy rule.

The finns where officaly warned that sweden woudnt step in to help if russia attacked, and im sure the finnsh didnt expect it ither, but they hoped. Yet the swedish gouverment decided to send arms and ammonution, along whit 8350 volenteers woud make thier way to finland on thier own.

I was talking about 1918, not 1939. At the meeting of the nordic countrys head of state at October 1939 we clearly claimed we woudnt help in any way in case of war, but we did anyway so be happy we did, besides Germany sold you out in the winter war when they had guaranteed your independence and refuse to lissen when you called for aid, we awnserd and the other nordc countrys to, even the allies did. But your best pal Germany didnt.

Wikipedia and the finnish sources say otherwise. We got the most aid from Germany. No official help was given by Sweden during winter war you can check it if you want. Those 7000 valenteers came here from their own will, not because the government send them. Some aid might have arrived unofficially by the people of Sweden, but the government refused to help Finland in any case.

wikipedia is for dummies, no offence. Never trust sutch a source, there where 8350+ swedish volenteers so theres one fact that was wrong. And there was "Offical aid" in terms of supplies and ammo, the gouverment was splint in 3 section. 1. Direct alliance whit Finland 2. Send volenteers and supplies "volenteers had to come out of free will and by own means" 3. None involvement what so ever. The parlament voted for the 2nd option, Ive read this countless times in "BOOKS"

Well actually that"s not true those about 7500 valenteers came from an organisation, which was founded by the people of Sweden and that organisation was the one who send all food supplies medical help, which came from Sweden.

Meh, enough about WW2, we clamied to become a neutral state after the great nordic war 1721 whitch had terrible consequenses for both finnish and the sweddish population, we lost Finland in the swedish-russio war of 1809 and yet we fought Napolean 1814 if i remmeber correct. 400 years? we can almost say 50 years since world war 2. When russia invaded finland we swedes sended troops to aid them, but since they was there just the day it got peace in the country, the swedes didnt kill anyone unluckely?). If the finish witer war had been for like 1 day longer, Sweden would be in war.

Yes. There was no official help. A third of the Finnish airforce was swedish planes, piloted by Swedish pilots, with the Swedes even having their own airbase. The Swedish government did help a lot, just not officially.

Little bit over eight thousand valenteers came from norway and sweden and those were not professional soldiers. As you know clearly the biggest help came from Germany. The number was fourteen planes check if u dont believe. And if couple pilots came from Sweden, then why havent i heard any great story of them?, unlike our own pilots.
