  • Thanks!

  • muy buen tutorial eres un maestro!!! muchas gracias, eres muy talentoso

  • @nez191 I learned it a little by ear and a little through various tabs!

  • great tutorial man. did you learn the chords by ear?

  • i think ?1 should be a F#maj (which should be x44200 and not 244300 so it isn't a F#maj) and the ?2 should be a FM7b5add5/C(used chord namer xD) x33200

This is also much easier to play

Like so every body can see :)

  • you sure you said that right? Your finger is on fret 4 and 7, not 4 and 8 (at 5:16). I tried 4 and 8 and it is nearly impossible to get--especially having one finger on 8 and 7 simataneously. Just wondering :)

  • Informative! Do yuo recommend any tabs online for this song though? Sometimes they can help extra :)

  • Awesome man, lovin the Foo's, only had my git for a few weeks and now i can play the Foo's. Great lesson for newbie, well explained and easy to follow, keep up the good woork dude.

  • that helped so much!

    cheers

  • i broke my guitar strings. all of them

  • awesome tutorial thanks man, that chord in the middle is a bit of a palm stretch though, doesn't seem to fit with the other easier chords, thanks again man

  • you should definitly make more videos...

i'm a 2 weeks beginner and i learned how to play this song...my first song...

    Awesome teacher

  • Thanks!

    Very nice.

  • you dnt help much with the rhythm do ya >.<

  • you dnt help much with the rhythm do ya >.<

  • nice work, except you have a couple of odd chords. second chord of the chorus is:

    044200

which means after the D, rather than doing that awkward 4th fret thing (which btw you've written wrong - you stretch up to 7th fret not 8th), you just repeat the same ^^ and slide down to E (a lot easier and sounds exactly the same).

    044200

    033200

    012200

  • thanks mate, very good pace. I literally picked up a guitar today and am off to a good start after an hour. Just time to get repetitve on it. Cheers.

  • tnx dude, fine lesson ;)

  • what is the strumming pattern for the chorus???

  • @WolfV123 Almost all just down strumming to the rhythm, nothing too fancy. You can add a little extra here and there if you want.

  • @CurtainGuy Thanks one more quick q about the chorus how many times do you strum each chord in the chorus it a bit hard to tell from the vid??

  • Hey, am i looking wrong or the chords for chorus are not right. At 5:26 it looks like you're holding x47600 and not x48700 like it says in the comment? And the next one as well - x36500?

  • this video is confuseing and a lil to fast :/

  • Thanks for the lesson! Saved me a lot of time figuring it out by myself.

    Thumbs up!!!

  • This video is epic. I just started learning guitar about a week ago and this video has helped me alot, as did your tutorial on Everlong. I'd love to see a video showing how to do the solo to this song, especially since there are no other decent tutorials around.

  • not bad man, but next time put the camera closer to your left hand :)

  • thanks a lot...this was great!!

  • Still the best youtubetorials out here on the webernets, man.

  • Hey thanks bro that was a great tutorial

  • the strum pattern is it just down??

  • @ladysweets93 Most of the time, yes.

  • amazing video, could u please say something about the strumming pattern

  • Cheers mate

  • very very good it helps me so much thx

  • thank you so much for posting thiss! it helped me so much! you're an awesome teacher and you go the perfect pace for beginners like me.

  • well u are good but for me(a beginner)i think its better for u to teach the right hand moves of the chorus:P

  • I'm still a bit of a beginner to guitar I've only been playing for 3 years and for some reason I'm having trouble figuring out the strumming pattern's for the chorus can you help me out?

  • yeah im also having difficulty with the chorus. iv only been playing a week, iv learnt the 1st verse brilliantly (thanks for that btw) i just cant do the chorus :(

  • I've been playing it now for almost every day and night now and I believe I have it but i cant describe how its done its very simple once you realize it.lol

  • @Brewer9308 hi! uhm, just a lil advice, (not tryin to be mean or anything like that) maybe you should try an easier song first to get used to strumming and changing chords quickly, im a beginner too! the song that helped me learn that was learnin to fly by tom petty easy song only four chords but it will really allow you to get strumming and chord changing down (: youtube it! the guy with the bald head is a good teacher and if your into singing to its a great song for that as well.........(:

  • @ladysweets93 hey, thanks for the advise, ill look it up :)

  • Right one seem the be a simpler method than other ones watched Thanks Yo!

  • THANKS !

  • damn dude thanks now i know to play guitar x)

  • fantastic, you are a legend at classical guitar. i can now play that song on guitar!!!! thank you so much, you now have a subscriber in the UK hehe :)

  • thanks man your great at guitar

  • yeah thnx man me and my bro can already play the melody u rock

  • Thanks m8 :D

  • Could you do another video showing the strumming pattern especially for the chorus? Thanks :). Good video otherwise !

  • I prefer the two plucking method. Gives it more texture.

    Good lesson otherwise.

  • two plucking method? could you tell me how it works?

  • 'I know some people play the verse by plucking two strings at once for certain parts.. this is just how I prefer to play it. '

basically, you use your thumb to pluck whatever is on the E and A strings, and then you use your index and middle fingers to pluck the D and A strings (respectively).

You pluck both D and A strings, fretting 0 and 2 instead of just hitting the open D string.

I'm a bigger fan of singing it though ;)

  • It's true, that method can sound pretty cool. Sometimes I like to play it this way for the first verse or two, then bring in the two-plucking method later on.. kind of building up.

  • Dude nothing better that a good old fashion PICK

  • I love my Foos! This is one of my favorite songs, so I can't wait to try this when I get home. :) thanks!

  • you really know how

    to play the guitar

    thanks!!!

    that was really helpful

  • i think for the first half the the chorus the F# should be a minor instead of a major.

    good video

  • Good job man !

  • tocas chido we sigue asi

  • thanks simple and easy to play i tried it

  • you could show us the strumming pattern for the chorus, its a bit tricky when you say "so this is how you play it"- play it once then move on

  • I agree, the strumming patter is tricky, I still couldn't figure it out

  • sei grande

  • Wow, I was looking for the strumming really badly. The damn tabs just didnt make sense to me considering the chords sound really bad when you play them, but you wrapped it up pretty good thanks.
