  • why do you people care if he died like i know it waz a horrible death i waz suprised to but like you guyz care about him and he doesnt know if you excist?

  • Because it was a terrible accident and he's a human being like the rest of us

  • i agree and disagree. yes it is bad but we got to many damn people on this planet. we NEED to cut back on the sex. seriously.

  • @TH3BL4CKH4WK Its not just sex. Its modern technology, saved many peoples lives.

  • maybe you should kill yourself then....one less insensitive prick won't be missed.

  • You are a dumb cunt.

  • lol roe v wade trollz

  • @jkdbdshjcbsdhjc Hey guy, your being a little insensitive. What if the family of this kid was pro-life,would it be different to you then?Abortion is a foriegn word to good people and to use this to minimize this tragedy, especially because he comes from a pro American country & a fledgling democracy like Georgia who didn't need this.Don't get me wrong,I think any woman who has an(or supports) abortion as a form of birth control so they won't be inconvenienced is really a lowlife pig.

    Adoption ?

  • WHAT? Im not agree or disagreeing with you but what does this have anything to do with abortion?

what does this have anything to do with this video? lol im confused.

  • @StealthTalons this has nothing to do with abortions.

  • we are talking about how tragic it was that this man died then someone said something about him being a human being blah, blah.... well anyway point being we have too many humans and all we have to do is cut back on the babies.

yes i love em but we don't need people running around with like 10 kids.

  • I was responding to someone elses comments. I didn't just type something for everyone to comment on.

  • WHERE WAS THE REQUIRED WALL?

  • The Track is "too" fast ?

WTF .. The entire purpose of Luge is to GO FAST .

Of course the physical track wasn't at fault. I say let Darwin sort them out . These guys want to climb on a death sled and make a bloody pile of goop on the ice .. let them do it ! Next they will limit the ski jumping .

  • Why does an IOC keep on deleting the video of crash?

  • @ksakoda911

i dont know but why would you want to see a 21 year old flying off the track and having his face slammed into a steel pole? thats kinda sick if you ask me

  • Dude, this is a big accident, and IOC may have some responsibility for the crash. Some say the safety regulations for the race course was not good enough.

Many people including me want to see this controversial race course which caused the crash.

If call this sick, the world is filled with sick people trying to know the truth behind the news. I do not think its such a bad thing.

  • @ksakoda911 thats what they do now. they can't handle the truth

  • @ksakoda911

because it's like seeing the 9/11 jumpers

your scared for life when you see it

    you'll never forget it

  • LOVE U NADOR!

  • I want to see the crash, not a boring old fart doing fake crying and whining.

  • @ScaredPiglet i agree

  • bdazzle....I'd like to kick you so hard that you would be wearing your tiny nutsack for a hat.

  • shut the fucken thing down

  • @bdazzzle people like you have no friends and if i knew where you were i'd kick your ass, talking shit like that with no regard for tradgedy your little bitch ass wouldn't even have gotten in the sled, he was more of a bad ass than you....i hope you "mess up" when your driving

  • @bdazzzle fnd films are cool, you fag lol hahaha

  • Full video of crashing look here - videokaif+com

  • Miholer the track is considerably shorter this year, 173metres or something along those lines i heard.

  • Why does the stupid track have to be bigger and faster every olympic year. There should be set standards, like other sports. Stupid people running this sport.

  • I agree with you, the track is designed all wrong. Its not so much the speed as the design. Those pillers are way too close to the track and why are they unprotected??? If you have ever gone skiing they most likely cover any open pillers with protection.

  • That design is a fatality begging to happen. They shouldve extended the wall higher so if theres an accident, he'll just hit the wall and wipe out on the track. Are other tracks like this, with exposed steel beams after coming out of a fast turn??

  • r.i.p. guy

  • r.i.p from california...

  • stfu "seanyboyslashleethax" , nobody wants to listen to your stupid riddles.....thats sick

  • hahahahahahahahahah i laugh at you.

  • @seanyboyslashleethax yeah dude shut the fuck up

  • i thought he was an olympic athlete....

  • He was a young, very in-experienced athlete from a small country that doesn't have a great training program of sorts.

  • There's no mention of wether or not they will now be insulating the metal poles that the luger hit.

  • There's a nice big wall there now.

  • Well, i guess he came in DEAD LAST

  • @seanyboyslashleethax fuck you

  • hahahahahaahhaahahahahahahaahhah

Fabz dont get so oversensitive, you probably didnt even know this guy. Besides, Death is a natural occurance.

  • @seanyboyslashleethax dude still you u shouldnt laugh about that kind of shit man

  • hahahaha

  • I'm sorry. You guys probably don't want me to respond again but please, this was a horrible thing and the whole"From us Canadians or Americans" thing is kinda rude. Please stop.

  • @jkdbdshjcbsdhjc, WHAT THE HELL? He's not a dumbass it was a freak accident! Your a JERK! Don't want to watch the video then don't look it up you moron!

  • @jkdbdshjcbsdhjc wtf is your problem this is a terrible accident and ur calling him a dumbass... your an asshole.. plus how can u say how the winter games are bad... would u rather watcha a guy snowboard... or nasty looking people run around a track?

  • @MrRapperandSinger, YOU ARE SUCH A LOSER!. This video is sad and your advertising for your stupid band! Shame on you.

Anyway, that was so sad. I felt horrible!

  • Track was built for "world class" competition. Unfortunate for Nodar that he is put forth to compete with competition that is obviously above his level of capabilities.

  • Track was built for "world class" competition. Unfortunate for Nodar that he is put forth to compete with competition that is obviously above his level of capabilities.

  • Fuck you faced12. We might be idiots, but we are also American. That means that, regardless we are better than the rest of the world. Even if we're the worst. We are just superior because we are from the USA. None of you foreign nothings will ever understand the feeling, nor will you ever be able to change our attitude.

    Sincerely,

    A proud American.

  • same here

  • @theswanman Thanks for making all of us look like stuck up jerks. We are not superior to anyone. "We might be idiots, but we are also American. That means that, regardless we are better than the rest of the world" that just made you sound like an idiot. Shut up and do the rest of the country a favor, stop being so ignorant.

    Sincerely,

A proud American who has respect for other people.

  • Bone head!!!

  • why didnt the engineer put a higher wall there??

  • Ok so apperently you American idiots think its Canada's fault for this tragedy.. Well, I just watched a videos of crashes in Germany, so its Germany's fault... Russia, so its Russia's fault... Sweden, so its Sweden's fault... And..... THE USA... SO I GUESS THAT WOULD MAKE IT YOUR FAULT! Yea, that sounds pretty stupid eh? Blaming a crash on a Country. You cant blame Canada for this tragedy, so grow the fuck up

  • shut the fuck up americas the best.

  • Actually the Canadians would be at fault here. They might have not built the hardest track in the world but they were supposed to make sure it was safe. The guy came to race not to die. They should have made sure nothing like this could happen before having athletes train on it. Russia has actually been warned to not build the next hardest track in the world because of this accident in the 2012 winter Olympics.

  • @TheCoconutSherbert It was proven that Canada was not at fault. It was human error on Nodar Kumaritashvili's part.

  • Even if it was his error it's still Canada's fault for overlooking a cement pole that wasn't covered. As I said before the guy came to race not to DIE! They changed the track a lot since that happened. Those changes needed to have happened before athletes were allowed on the track. They changed that turn AFTER the accident. WHY DIDN'T THEY HAVE IT DONE SAFELY IN THE FIRST PLACE?

  • @TheCoconutSherbert Dur...it wasn't cement- it was steel. And it was a true accident.

  • Because these were professionals. They had tested it and it was being used constantly. No one expected a professional to make that grave of a mistake.

  • @TheCoconutSherbert

"Even if it was his error it's still Canada's fault for overlooking a cement pole that wasn't covered"

Why? The track had been open for two year, nothing of the sort had ever happen. Also covering that pole with padding wouldn't have done him any good since it was the impact of hitting the pole hard that killed him. Maybe they should have had a higher wall but everything always looks better in hindsight right?

  • i agree he need to leave canader out of this

  • of course a crash is human error. When you build the fastest course on the planet tho, it should have safety measures in place to ensure a riders error doesnt result in them getting thrown of the track. Many people were crashing on the course before they moved the starting point. It was an unprecedented accident but it was overlooked despite the fact they knew how fast the course was.

  • @thecoconutsherbert The IOC approved the track and design, they had the final say on how it was built.. Not Canada

  • @faced12 Not all of us Americans are this way.

  • @andrea1994barney Dont get me wrong, I know a lot of Americans who are really good people, I am friends with many, there are just some that make America look bad. Same here in Canada, most of us are good people, but some are idiots. I am sure your a very nice person

  • @faced12 I wasn't arguing with you I was saying it more as an apology.

  • So it's not the tracks fault there was a big concrete fence for him to smash into rather than a bale of hay? Right....

  • my God, thats horrible. Condolences to his parents :(

  • O my gawd! That's terrible! Poor guy, he was so young too and was probably so happy 2 b in the games!

  • stuped ingeneer why put a fence to support a roof , let the guy fly out and stop him with bails of hay , like they do in automobile racing , it could be made of breakable material , on impact , anyway too fast , bad design

  • It is horrible that somebody lost their life. That said, nobody ever said Luge, Skeleton or Bobsled was a safe sport. There is inherent risk with almost every sport. and this one is no different. Yes, it is a tragedy, but the IO'Cs knee jerk reaction to shorten the track was, in my opinion, wrong. Michael 71777's idea to install a plexiglass barrier is much better than what the IOC came up with.

  • I think it should be like water rides, and be done inside a tube. That way they can't come out until the run is over.

They wouldn't be able to get video footage like they do now, but it'll be safer for everyone.

  • Why would they shorten the track so much if it was just human error? Makes a lot of sense.

  • human error in a game should not cause death.

  • @boongles ever been skateboarding?

  • @EnderTXenocide

    yes. im retiring

  • It seems from the photos that there should have been a plexiglass barrier that separates the steel poles from the track. I doubt padding the poles would make a difference. Hitting a pole at 10 mph can snap your neck let alone the 87 mph in which he was traveling.

  • yea, the barrier atleast will block him from slamming into the pole

  • Luge is a dangerous sport, accidents happen. It's not necessarily the Canadian's fault. They should probably look into making that area with the metal poles a bit safer though.

  • The course design was prepared by the same man who has designed previous Olympic tracks, so yeah.. bet you feel stupid now. Next time do your research b4 opening your mouth, faggot.

  • @MrCommando76 they just said in the video the track wasn't faulty

  • @MrCommando76 oh of course! racism! racism will solve the problem, maybe if i were smarter i would have thought of it

  • This is a dangerous sport..

  • so fucking sad. what a waste

  • this poor guy died because his sport is dangerous, stop blaming everyone. no one blamed the crash barriers when dale earnhart died...at least nodar died doing something he loved, and it probably happened so fast that he didn't know the difference

  • Comment removed

  • No, but NASCAR did make the HANS device mandatory...after his death.

Even NASCAR tracks are now designed to keep the cars from leaving the track. If only the IOC would take such care...next time.

  • hi, i didn't hear about the accident until early this morning and never got to actually see what happened. i watched this video but i have heard rumors and i if its all right can someone answer to them so i can know what's true and what's not.

    1. when he hit the pole he split in half because it hit his body. (i doubt its that after watching this video i saw him hit his head.)

    2. he hit his head and it was cracked.

if non are true, can you tell me the real reason.

    thank you.

  • No, he did not split in half. He died of blunt force trauma.

  • man i seen the video, he got fukked up bad, it realy shocking to think in that split second he could just fukk up n get killed. the impact sounded soo harsh, i feel sorry for him n his family.

  • [*] R.I.P

  • Bless Nodar and his family. I pray that his brave death was not in vain. Officials must rethink the safety involved with Luge. The area around the perimeter of the track was fully exposed and low, knowing that they designed that extremely sharp turn at the end of the run. Also, his left arm flew up when he lost control at the turn...velcro seat belts, perhaps? One can only feel love for this young athlete. The nation of Georgia should be so proud of him!

  • Did you not watch the end of the video? They said it was his fault.

    rip.

  • RIP from Georgia, Tbilisi. and who is laughing on this tragedy remember all that someday you will also die and others will laugh on you, you poor.

  • @Mrsiepel how fucking horrible of you.

  • The coroner and RCMP concluded that the track was not at fault eh! We would not want to see a blemish on B.C.'s crowning moment now would we. Let's just sign this tragic death off as an error on the part of the athlete. These guys crash all the time. Sounds like politics once again are interferring with fact. If I was involved with the engineering and safety of this track, I'd be losing countless nights of sleep for years to come. Point the finger where it belongs... on the design of the track!

  • It angers me that there was no plastic barrier to block someone exiting the track.

Rest in Peace, a hard working athlete lost his life for no reason:(

  • poor guy. if they reopen that track, i think they should do something about the turn... cover up those metal poles...

  • shouldn't be there in the first place

  • That is so sad!

  • My condolences to the Georgia Olympic Team and Nodar's friends and family. May he R.est I.n P.aradise

  • aww how sad : [

  • They should give this guy an Olympic Gold medal...May He Rest in Peace.....

  • rest in peace.

  • you'd think they would at least have some kind of padding on those metal poles to prevent serious injury

  • then what Olympics suck 4 years for this wow i rather wait 4 years for the world cup who's with me.

  • @yousawthis fuck sooocccceeeerrrrr. olypimcs are better

  • don't talk

  • @arpgi2~ Yawn........

  • why couldnt your whore of a mother die? i just dont know

  • You narrow minded racist pricks!! A man DIED! have some respect, why don't you go have sex with your sisters or cousins. Fuckin rednecks!

  • I wonder if there is ever going to be a you tube thread where nobody gets into a retarded exchange, i mean seriously a man has died doing the only thing he loved and you got people on here who can find a need to spell numbnuts, human beings are just doomed to a savage existence. R.I.P. to the young man that died and God bless the human race

  • Check out the CTVOlimpics channel they have the comments locked down to little old ladies first time on the internet and shills. It reads horribly dishonest. I like a balanced mixture of pro, con and nut job. It better represents the human experience.

  • uugggghhh welll i guess you got a point ok i'll check it out, by the way see how we are having this convo and i didnt flip out on you whats so hard about this ? (shrugging shoulders)

  • What a sad story...

Was it his mastake or not - no metter. The track is obviously unsafe. It MUST be designed for possible mistakes.

  • I agree with you. A small misjudgement should NOT cost someone their life. So sad.

  • shit...

  • a higher wall could have quite possibly saved him. Don't think so? Oh look, they built the wall to a higher elevation to keep the racers on the track should they leave their sled & become airborne. Of course there's no guarantee. But believe me when I say that the family has already lawyered up & are planning on suing. Now don't be silly, you would too.

  • For all the people blaming the track and Canada and blah blah.....go look at some other "luge crash" videos on youtube. There are dozens of extremely violent crashes...this one was a freak accident. It's an extremely dangerous sport.

    Tragic accident...RIP :(

  • This could happen anytime anywhere on a Luge track . Most people ( who are mostly NON-Canadian of coarse ) blame Canada . Get real and mayby when you grow up and learn more about life in general you will understand that freek accidents can happen anytime anywhere in life - certain sports have a higher risk factor and this was a very unfortunate outcome. R.I.P. from the nicest people in the world - us CANADIANS .

  • But in this case the Canadian officials were warned many times. USA and then Australia. They were ignored. The anger is directly at the people responsible. Not at us Canadians. We just pay our $1,000 tickets and the taxes and thats it.

  • Exactly! The officials were warned. What proof do they have that the track was safe? What other factors influenced their decision to continue? If they choose something else over the safety of the athletes they should be fired and made famous.

The world has seen a little too much looking forward and not enough investigating the facts, holding those responsible accountable, and making sure it doesn't happen again. My country doesn't need to continue this trend.

  • They only do 120 kph. out of this corner. He should of stayed off the ICE...

  • What stupid designers designed a bloody luge track with concrete beams next to it without any padding.

  • The crash wasn't the track's fault. It was a rider's mistake, and no matter what safety precautions are taken, they're going 90mph, so it's going to be dangerous.

  • @magicman898 padding wouldnt have saved him

  • where can i see the crash video??

  • Google.

  • yo didar 08 shut the fuck up u fat american canadians had nothin to do with it , it waz a freak acident u peace of shit worry about ur own country

  • you're an ass.....learn how to spell numbnuts

  • I know how to spell. And I dont care what you think I am, as long as I'm NOT Canadian.

    And dont swear, thats immature.

  • that blows

  • The Canadians can't even put together a functional hydraulic system. What's the likelihood that they can put together a safe luge track?
