I think on American Idol, she was way above everybody else in terms of vocally, that she never need to use her power vocals all the time. When she sang "Alone" and "Angels Brought Me Here", she showed her powerful vocals, but when she debut here with her own song, she really showed her powerful vocals and why she won American Idol so easily.

Carrie IS the best vocalist. I love Martina, Reba, Miranda, and Taylor, but none of them can ever reach the vocal complexity of Carrie Underwood. There's just no way. Her vocals are a true gift, and it's a shame that the CMAs haven't been rewarding her for her true gift. She deserves to win female vocalist every time, regardless of who's up against her. There's no competition.

Carrie surprise everybody at how she actually was. Proving that she wasn't just another contest winner and that she really can sing. As journalist said audience was stunned when she started to sing like woh. Surprise at how power of vocals she actually had.

@Sam7svu I call that rare now a days, from the older generation anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Reba fan, her duets CD kind of bombed and for good reason, it just didn't have anything good on it except for like "every other weekend". Reba is amazing, and so are a lot of the other women in country music, BUT Carrie can out sing almost any of them, that is just obvious to anyone with the ability to hear.

That is your opinion. Carrie has a great voice but not the only one with a great voice. That is what annoys me about Carrie fans they think she is the greatest gift on earth, I can at least admit she has a great voice others can't seem to wrap there heads around someone being better than Carrie.

Her vocals took over her nerves and demonstrate to Reba and everybody else, why she won American Idol and now is Country Superstar in her own right. And now tops all country ladies, even though she didn't set out to do that. It just happen and she got the respect of all country veterans except for a few people, but they are very few and far.
